3 Strategies to Get Millennial Patients into Your Dental Practice

Millennials are in the prime of their health and thriving in their careers; they are looking for ward to starting a family and settling down. Naturally, looking for preventive dental care or regular dental checkup is not something that is ver y important to them. They look for a Miami dentist only when their tooth causes them pain. So, how do you get this generation of patients, who are, by the way, the largest in number now, to your dental practice? The old-fashioned ways of advertisement or campaign won’t work for them because they are known to be trailblazers on how they choose ever ything in their life, whether it is their partner or their dentist! Hence, to reach out to this generation of patients, you need to have some specific strategies; and to help you out, here are some of them.

First, millennials have a keen sense of dismantling falsehood and insincere approaches. So, instead of calling up your millennial patients or nagging them about scheduling a biannual check-up, show them how important dental and oral health care is. And that has to be done through social media like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram because this generation is inseparable from their smartphones. Show them ADA (American Dental Association) data that shows that having good dental health especially a good smile can influence their career and job prospect. In fact, one report says that 28% of millennials say that their teeth and mouth have inadvertently affected their job inter view. Such data will make millennials take their oral health seriously and think about making a dental appointment with you. Second, you have to change the way you communicate with your patients when it comes to millennials. In a sur vey conducted among 18- to 24-year-olds, it was found that nearly 90% of them wanted to connect to their ser vice providers (like a dentist) through a text message but only about 32% of such providers had that facility. So, to make sure your millennial patients stick with you, you need to have PRM tools that will make it easier for them to book online appointments, get text alerts for their upcoming visits, or even contact you without affecting their daily life. Show that you are putting their satisfaction first, and millennials patients will think of you when they need a Miami dentist. Thirdly, this generation thrives on personal connection and feelings even when it comes to their dentist. So, don’t pop into their life only when their scheduled appointment time comes; keep in touch with them through a digital connection. It can be anything from a regular post in your official website blog or even humorous Stories and Reels on Instagram. Use tools that will send them email newsletters and from time to time, ask about their opinion. Don’t forget to ask them to review your ser vice because millennials look for online reviews when they are seeking some ser vice/product. And reviews from fellow millennial patients will influence them more than any ad campaign you can think of. It is expected that by 2025 75% of the working US population will be millennials. So, by connecting with them now when their career and family life is starting, you can assure yourself some loyal patients in the coming years.
