The Gallo Center has adopted the use of digital programs meant to be viewed on cell phones or other computer devices. This change has important public health, environmental and economic benefits: reducing close contacts between patrons and ushers, cutting our use of paper, and eliminating substantial printing costs. View the program only before shows begin or during intermissions. Please be considerate of other patrons and artists on stage by not viewing it during performances. Patrons who do not observe this courtesy and create distractions may be asked to leave. Thank you!

The Gallo Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center with a deep commitment to enriching the people and communities of California’s vast San Joaquin Valley. From the scintillating performances of its wonderful resident companies, to the great variety of world-class entertainment presented by the Center each season, to robust arts education programs for the region’s youth, this is where the magic happens.
From the beginning, the Center’s mission has been clearly defined: to provide an inspirational civic gathering place where regional, national, and international cultural activities illuminate, educate, and entertain. Since revenue from ticket sales and facility rentals only covers a portion of the costs associated with fulfilling this mission, the Center is dependent on the generous annual financial support from donors and program sponsors within our community.

The opening scene pays homage to the Motherland. From the horn lines to halftime, from jazz to hip-hop, from America to Asia, there would be no “Drumline” and no HBCU Marching Band without Africa.
(Pep-Rally)
Our drum majors will give you a little razzle and dazzle just to get things started. Be prepared for a big “SHOCK” as the band gives a highenergy rendition of “Shout It Out” from the hit movie, “Drumline,” during our pre-game PEP RALLY.
Our Drumline Live vocalists will perform legendary tunes from classic American Soul artists of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s, featuring the sounds of Tina Turner, the Supremes, the Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and James Brown.
(The
Michael Jackson brought his amazing talents to the football field through his performance at Super Bowl XXVII and halftimes have never been the same. Be prepared to “Beat It” with
DRUMLine Live as we give you a “Thriller” highlight reel from the King of Pop.
These drummers are hip and magical. Check out their flashy stick work as they perform drumline cadences to the top tunes of today’s hip-hop music.
The pageantry of HBCU marching bands has been influenced by the sounds of jazz, ragtime and big band music. Snap your fingers as you watch our old school marching band perform classics popularized by musicians of the early 20th century.
At HBCUs the best musical moments sometimes occur on the football field before or after band practice. Watch our virtuoso drummers, dancers, and musicians express themselves through music and dance.
(Salute to Prince Rogers Nelson)
Ladies and Gentlemen, you are about to witness the sensational, the astounding, the
breathtaking, and “The Greatest Show On Stage!” Nothing can prepare you for what you are about to see. Enjoy “HALFTIME” with a special salute to PRINCE!!!
The drum battle begins with each extraordinary percussionist demonstrating spectacular style and technique. However, there can only be one champion. We’ll let the audience decide!
(From Funk to Hip-Hop)
The DRUMLine Live band will climax the “Halftime” dance routine with dazzling choreography and musical selections that highlight the best of the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000’s Hip-Hop music.
(Post Game Party)
As the football game ends, the POST GAME PARTY begins. Most HBCU homecoming parades and post game parties resemble the huge street celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana called Mardi Gras. It’s time for everybody to join the parade and party in the aisles with the DRUMLine Live Band, HBCU style! Meet us in the Lobby!!
DRUMLine Live, the show-stopping attraction created by the music team behind 20th Century Fox’s hit movie, “Drumline,” has paraded onto some of the biggest theatre stages in America, Japan, and Korea and performed more than 300 shows since 2009.
Complete with dazzling choreography and explosive percussion, DRUMLine Live is a thrilling spectacle that pays homage to the show-style marching popularized at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). HBCU bands have had a major effect on entertainment and culture. Lifetime’s, “Bring It,” is one of their highest rated shows and has led to an upcoming reality television show about the Alabama State University Marching Band. Additionally, almost every professional sports team now has an HBCU style drumline.
With riveting rhythms, bold beats and ear-grabbing energy, DRUMLine Live is a synchronized musical showcase of the legendary HBCU experience. This experience comes alive with our world-class cast of percussionists, musicians and dancers. The 35 member cast of performers honed its unrivaled talent with years of training in marching band programs across the United States such as Florida A&M University, Tennessee State University and Southern University just to name a few. “We’ve taken the excitement of an HBCU football game halftime show, increased the intensity by a thousand watts, and created a musical journey that will touch every emotion. DRUMLine Live is a high octane musical roller coaster ride that will keep the entire family cheering for more.” -Don P. Roberts, Creator and Director of DRUMLine Live.
Incorporating original compositions and soul-stirring interpretations of top 40 hits, DRUMLine Live’s musical journey infuses colorful, choreographed routines with vibrant costumes and heavy doses of drum riffs and cadences. With musical highlights from hip-hop, American soul, gospel, jazz and other music genres, DRUMLine Live brings a unique style of drumming, mesmerizing musicianship, and lively choreography never seen on stage before.
DRUMLine Live was most recently managed by Columbia Artists Management Incorporated (CAMI). CAMI is an international producer of live entertainment including many award-winning Broadway and Off-Broadway productions such as FELA, Chicago and Blue Man Group.
