Around the Club Troon Privé Privilege Leal Roberts recently enjoyed Sharks Tooth Golf Club in Lake Powell, Florida (Panama City area) through Troon Privé Privilege. Leal had a great time and commented on the fast greens. Must have felt right at home!

Community Involvement Children’s Hospital Fundraiser Tomorrow, November 22nd we will host our first ever “Beat the Pro” to support Diamond Children’s Hospital and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Unlike the typical “Beat the Pro,” this event will have a slight twist to help us help the kids who rely on our Children’s Hospitals for world class care and treatment. A member of our Professional Staff will be on 4 of the Par 3’s, and you will have the chance to pledge any amount for a donation/ challenge…now here is the twist….if the Pro hits their shot inside of yours, you double your donation (For example: If you pledge $10 and the Pro hits their shot closer, your donation would be $20). This is the third year that Troon Golf has supported this cause and all of our facilities across Arizona hold fundraisers throughout October and November and we are excited for The Gallery to join in the effort. As an added incentive, every member who hits a shot within 10 feet of the hole will receive a free 2014 National Troon Twosome Card…a great gift for a friend or family member as the holidays approach. The Gallery has a personal connection to this event as last year one of our server’s, Shannon, 3 year old daughter became critically ill with a high fever and doctors here at Diamond Children’s determined it was best to send little Makennah to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for further care. After several weeks of care, including being induced into a coma, the amazing staff at Phoenix Children’s was able to help Makennah return home and is now back to her healthy and happy self. Makennah is one of the thousands of great stories that are the result of the amazing care that the doctors and nurses are able to provide kids each year and are a testament to how blessed we are to have such a great facility this close to home. We at Troon and The Gallery appreciate you helping us, continue to “Drive Hope.”

Sports Club Welcomes Catherine Vorrasi Catherine Vorrasi has been a competitive swimmer since 5 years old. She became a lifeguard at 15 and began teaching both private and group swimming lessons at a young age. She earned a Bachelors degree in physical education and health at George Mason University and a Masters degree in sports, recreation and tourism management at the University of Illinois. Since advancing her career in aquatic management, she hasn’t had the opportunity to teach as much as she would like. Catherine is currently the Aquatics Manager for the new Oro Valley Aquatic Center. Swimming is her passion and she loves to teach. While she really enjoys teaching people of all ages how to swim, she also loves working to “fine-tune” strokes to make swimmers more efficient in the water. Catherine has experience working with people 5 months to 82 years of age.
