Around the Club Second Time is a Charm MK Klein recorded her second hole in one on April 20th from 150 yards on #14 of the South Course. Not only was this her second one, she also broke 90 that day playing with Marlena Holman and Ana Lockhart. Her first hole in one was on #3 of the North Course.
Take 2 Cathy Hareland got an Eagle on April 28th on #8 of the North Course. She hit an 89 yard shot to the green. Ginny Barrett, Pat Williamson, and Judy Jacobson witnessed and celebrated the accomplishment.

The Marana Community Food Bank distributes emergency food assistance to more than 2,400 families every month. Within these families there are 1,850 children and more than 1,400 seniors – in other words, the most vulnerable among us. All donations of food and financial assistance remain in Marana. Every dollar donated represents four meals and Charity Navigator has given the food bank a rating of 69.25 points out of a total possible score of 70 points. Most needed food items are peanut butter, cereal, skillet meals, canned vegetables and fruit. No glass containers please. If you would like to donate, please find the collection boxes located at The Sports Club and next to the ice and water machine in the Cart Staging area.
Summer Cart Program In an effort to provide a savings opportunity for our summer residents similar to that for our seasonal residents, we will now offer a Golf Car Program for the summer months. By registering for this program, you will no longer have to pay cart fees every time you use a cart…you will have unlimited use of the golf cart, plus it includes a push cart if you choose to walk. This will run from May 1, 2014 thru October 31, 2014 and the cost is $1150 for Family and $770 for Single. Please notify the Golf Shop if you would like to be a part of this new program.

Arizona Women’s Golf Association 2014 Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship, held April 24-25 at the Sewailo Golf Club. A total of 54 teams competed. The three teams from The Gallery who entered the event ALL won!! 1st Flight 2nd Place Net: Brenda Samis and Barb Parker 2nd Flight 1st Place Net: Jane Huff and Claudette Halpern 4th Flight 2nd Place Net: Meredith Anderson and Frieda Gutshall
Troon PrivĂŠ
Golf members at Troon PrivĂŠ clubs have the privilege to play at other private clubs for the host clubs cart fee rate. Also, members are entitled to bring up to three guests that will play for the host clubs accompanied rates. Each golfer can play up to (6) rounds at any given facility in one calendar year. (This benefit is limited to (3) visits for clubs in same geographic market). Rounds are subject to the host clubs advance booking policy for unaccompanied guest/reciprocal play.

Troon Summer Series We are happy to announce a Summer Troon Travel Series! We will have 4 dates this summer, where we have prearranged golf to have some fun away from The Gallery! A member of the Golf Professional Staff will be accompanying each group, and to facilitate any games that may take place. But, we need at least 24 people to sign up for each date, and 30 days in advance. We will send out a reminder email, so let us know if you would like to play!

Nine Hole Ladies League Please join us on Tuesday afternoons! After you check-in, in our Golf Shop, we meet at the practice facility to warm up and then play at 3pm. If you do not have a handicap – it is ok! You can sign up by going to the Members Only site and clicking on Events or just contact the Golf Shop directly at 520-744-4700. This week we will introduce Troon’s May initiative promoting PLAYER DEVELOPMENT with Assistant Golf Professional Kristie Fowler. From 2pm-3pm Kristie will offer a clinic to our group. As we work to build our group we want to remind everyone that we do not require a big commitment - If it happens that you can only play with us one day a month – that is ok! We just want you to have fun, play a little golf and meet new people! As a reminder, this summer the club is closed on Tuesdays. We’ll switch to Wednesdays at 9 or 9:30 and then come in for a cool drink afterwards. We hope you can join us one day soon!

Sports Club Basketball Camp 13965 N. Dove Mountain Blvd. Ages: 10-13: June 2nd-6th from 7:00-8:30am Ages: 14-18: June 9th-13th from 7:00-8:30am Every coach is looking for a player that can do the FAB 4. Protect the ball; Play with quickness and intensity, play smart and finish the play with excellence! As the camp progresses through each session, we will build on each individual skill. Repetition will be the key to mastering each skill. Therefore each session will consist of the following, but will be specialized for each group’s skill level • Warm-up • Ball-handling • Individual Offense • Shooting • Defense • Team Offense- depending on the skill level Coach Jonathan Alexander has coached and directed basketball camps for 9 years with NBC Camps in several states and abroad. Jonathan uses the NBC Camps (largest and most popular overnight basketball program in the world) curriculum to teach the fundamentals of basketball. He specializes in shooting, 1-on-1 attack moves, and defense. Jonathan is one of the master teachers for the elite NBC Camp- CIC College Prep Camp. Participants must register by Friday, May 30th.
