Around the Club
Let’s say we were dressed to kill, we were definitely the sharpest dressed team for sure with our new duds (Nike Hyper Volt shirts) which we sell in the Golf Shop. Alyssa shot 39 on the back nine from the lengthy tee boxes and windy course conditions. We both earned a skin with mine being on #1 and Alyssa’s on #6!!! Overall we all had a wonderful time, great laughs, great golf shots and great lasting memories!! While the heat is going up, Kris Ligon’s golf scores are going down! She broke 80 (79) on Wednesday, June 3rd and ready for more! She played the South course with Robin Allen, and Ginny Dohner with10 pars, 1 birdie and only 1 double! Well done Mrs. Ligon!
Member Art Show Dear Gallery Golf Club Members,
As many of you know I graduated from the University of Arizona in May with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Management and Policy and now that hard work has paid off. I was offered and have accepted a full time position with the UA in the Office of the Registrar. I will be working primarily with transfer students, analyzing their credits and easing their transition to the U of A. This is an awesome opportunity that will allow me to continue my education with a master’s degree in the field of healthcare administration. I am filled with a blend of excitement for the new experiences combined with anxiety about the unknown and heartache over the moments I will miss in the Golf Shop. I want to thank all of you- the members, the heart of The Gallery for allowing me to become a part of your lives and share in your daily experience at the club. Many of you have become genuine friends to me, acting as and remaining to be the reason I loved my job! Thank you all for your abundance of patience, support and well-wishes throughout my schooling, and most meaningful to me, the stories and laughs that were shared, they will be dearly missed. I hope you all stay cool throughout this summer and continue to enjoy the phenomenal game of golf! Sincerely, Macie Burkhart

This guy took a respite for a few minutes in the shade of our back patio yesterday afternoon. It was a bit difficult getting these shots through a door window while I remained …of course….INSIDE!! Rosemary Haleem~

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SYSTEM PROGRAM I strongly believe that the functional movement exercises have been beneficial to me. When I started training with Gina Rhine in May of 2014 we discussed my goals and objectives. My main goal was to get relief from pain/limited motion in my left shoulder and improve my overall balance. I'm happy to report that the pain disappeared the following September and now I am able to do push-ups, overhead presses with improved shoulder mobility. We continue to work with the functional movement exercises to improve my overall balance and core strength. - Jack Good- Gallery Member
Benefits of the Functional Movement System Program: • Increase rotational strength and flexibility of the core • Improve strength and flexibility of the hamstrings • Improve mobility through the upper back Outcome and achievements after completion: • Improved pelvic and core stability • Improved ankle and foot mobility • Improved strength and flexibility of hamstrings • Keeping us functional as we age Cost: $300 which includes An Hour FMS Assessment and Package of 8- ½ Hour Sessions Total Value of $420- A Savings of $120 Gina M. Rhine- Personal Trainer Gina is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Personal Trainer as well as a Postural Alignment Specialist through Egoscue University and Functional Movement Screen certified. Through both Egoscue and FMS she identifies dysfunctions and imbalances prior to starting your exercise program. After identification, she gives therapeutic exercises to correct the dysfunctions and restore range of motion by increasing both strength and flexibility. These therapeutic exercises are then incorporated into the client’s regular weight training and exercise programs to maintain a balanced body.
Note: Postural Fitness Class is Complimentary in June!
