Mountain Mania Qualifier Calling all men!!! April 14th is the 28th edition of the annual Home & Home competition with Stone Canyon. A qualifying process will be held from April 4th - 11th. You must play the North Course from the Blue/Green Combo tees and you only get one round to qualify. This year’s event will have a $40 event fee per person. A total of 10 members and 2 pro’s will make up the team trying to extend our overall lead of 16 wins to 11 losses including last winter!

Denny Deragisch - Shot Event Par 72 on the North! Kelly Cutlip - Hole in One on #7 North - it’s his 5th Hole in One! Linda Bich shot 36 on the front 9 South Course….she had 3 2’s including an Eagle on #7 and a Birdie on #8 Gary Strniste - Hole In One on #12 North from 168 yards Witnesses: Roger Garrett and Jim Connor Alan Barczuk had an Eagle on #13 North Course

Congratulations to the 2014 Club Champions Men We have a new Club Champion in Dr. Jon Valuck. A member since 2008, Dr. Valuck lives in Oklahoma and is a member at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City. He is able to make it out to the desert a few times per year and has been a regular participant in The Gallery Invitational since he joined the club. This was his first year participating in the Men’s Club Championship and made the most of it by winning by 2 shots over Four-time and Defending Champion, Cyrus Whitney with scores of 72-76 from the Blue Tees. Mr. Whitney won his first Senior Club Championship to add to his four Club Championships…he is a contender every time he tees it up! Mr. Guy Shoemaker was a model of consistency shooting two 75’s from the Blue/ Green Combo tees to earn a smooth 10-shot victory in the second flight of the Senior Division. Dave Charnock used a Hole in One on #16 South Friday to become the Super Senior Club Champion, cruising to a one-shot victory over Don Colton. He shot scores of 7774 from the Blue/Green Combo Tees. Mr. Jim Trapp, a two-time Super Senior and Legends Champion, showed that he has a solid game by shooting 78-83 to win the second flight in the Super Senior Division. Ladies Barb Parker was successful in defending her title as Ladies Club Champion by shooting scores of 80-75 to win by a comfortable margin. Core Series
4 Week Program starting April 9th Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00pm
Learn the muscles that make up the core while executing multi-level exercises to activate each muscle in the “Core Group” to optimize core strength. Each week we will cover a series of related core muscles for: Week 1: Spinal stabilization Week 2: Pelvic stability Week 3: Trunk stability & Rotation Week 4: Core Power Limited Availability- Register at the Front Desk by April 4th Cost: $80.00 for all 4 weeks Minimum: 5: Maximum: 10 Dawn Formoe obtained a B.S. as a Health Educator from the prestigious Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona in 2010. She received her Personal Training certification from Cooper’s Institute in 2003. She also holds certifications from the Human Kinetics Department at the University of Illinois, specializing in Exercise Nutrition, Group Fitness and Power Training for Elite Athletes. Dawn was hired at The Gallery Sports Club in 2006 and has experience in training clients in areas of golf fitness, weight loss, sports/exercise nutrition, sports conditioning and flexibility.

A workout for the entire mind, body, and spirit! Participate in a completely new, trendy, and fun fitness class. Feel and experience the pulsating rhythms, dynamic movements, and powerful percussions of this new high-energy dance and rhythm workshop. Cardio Drumming combines traditional aerobic movements with the powerful beat and rhythms of the drums (stability balls). It’s designed to enhance physical and mental fitness, to burn fat and above all, to have fun. Signe Elwick, B.S., D.C. has been a fitness professional for more than 20 years. She combines her degrees in Exercise Nutrition and Chiropractic with an ACSM Personal Trainer certification. She specializes in training and program design for postural correction, stability and functional exercise as well as bone health for women. Additionally, she has years of experience and training in designing and implementing realistic cardiovascular programs to meet health, fitness and weight loss goals.

In Tucson, Barbara received her yoga teacher certification (RYT 200) through Permelia Harden, senior teacher at Yoga Oasis. She continued her yoga training with Amy Wientraub, becoming a LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner, Level II in 2008. Barbara holds a Masters in Movement from Wesleyan University ('83), which included studies in kinesiology (anatomy in motion) and dance.
