Dave Shepard - Heart of the House Dave joined our ranks twelve years ago and had previously worked at the San Manuel Mine for 30 years until its closure. Through those years he had developed a broad spectrum of mechanical skills, which he has applied to our Repair and Maintenance Equipment Division. After quickly adapting to our specialized equipment complex (normally ‘dealer only’ repairs)) became routine in our shop. He is always the first to work and has our facility operational before all others arrive. Dave has always been anxious to share his skills through training and provide a positive attitude to mentor those around him. With his sense of urgency all equipment is put away in top-working order and ready to go to work when needed. Throughout the years, Dave has been there when other departments needed repairs as well. His determination has allowed our department to function without interruption since he became part of our team. We are so fortunate to have Dave at The Gallery Golf Club!
Men’s Pac 12 Golf Championship April 25th - 27th The Gallery Golf Club is about to be front and center stage for the Men’s Pac 12 Championship and we want to keep you informed of all the happenings during the event. The North Course will close beginning at 9am on Thursday, April 24th. Starting times will be available beginning at 1:40pm on the 26th and 1:30pm on the 27th. North Putting Green will be reserved for event participants. Wine Room will become headquarters/press room for the event. Back patio is reserved for Members and Pac 12 VIP’s only. Serving a la carte Breakfast menu daily throughout the tournament from 7am - 10am. No breakfast buffet on Sunday, April 27th. The North Course nines will be reversed - #10 will become #1. Member Practice Facility open as usual. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged! We are still seeking volunteers. Please contact Paul Nolen if you would like to participate. Show your pride and wear your favorite team’s garb!
Nine Hole Ladies League We would love to have you join us! We changed the day to Tuesdays at 3pm. We try to meet about 2:30 to warm up and then play. If you don’t have a handicap that’s ok! We’re also working on some fun ideas to have special guests out to play – like Chef Brian, and we’ll ask him to bring us treats too! Also we’ll have the professional staff out now & then for a little instruction…maybe an hour and then we can go play 5 holes…or whatever we feel like. We are considering a field trip to Tubac…9 holes & shopping would be fun! This summer the club is closed on Tuesdays, so we’ll switch to Wednesdays and say the 18 hole group goes out at 7:30 – we’ll go out at 9 or 9:30 and then come in for a cool drink afterwards with them. We’d like to the take the next few months and see what works best for the ladies as far as which day of the week and also what time of day. You can sign up by going to the Members Only site and clicking on Events or just contact the Golf Shop directly. If it happens that I cannot play one day then I will be certain to have a substitute and let everyone in the group know who to look for. I hope you can join us one day soon! 2014 Play with the Pro’s Wrap-Up We want to thank all 123 members and the 7 pros for participating in this very popular event! A great time was had by all and we congratulate the victors in the Finals. In the Men’s Finals, Garrett Wallace and his team of Eli Guidera, Bill Hard and Brian McHugh edged out Chris Rulseh’s team of Norm Faye, Joe Nikoden and Miles Weigold as they won the scorecard playoff. Both teams shot 12-under 132. Also, congratulations to Mr. Kent Russell for his hole-in-one on the 16th hole of the South…he had a “net zero” on that hole to help his team to a 3rd place finish, one stroke out of first! The big story at the Ladies Final was the wind. All 28 players were buffeted about in the gusting winds with Paul Nolen’s team of Ginny Barrett, Cathy Hareland and Cindy Smith coming out on top by one stroke over Kristie Fowler’s team of Nancy Givens, D.J. Hammerschmidt and Sharon Heinemann. We look forward to next year’s version of Play with the Pros and hope that everyone who wishes to, gets to participate!!

In Tucson, Barbara received her yoga teacher certification (RYT 200) through Permelia Harden, senior teacher at Yoga Oasis. She continued her yoga training with Amy Wientraub, becoming a LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner, Level II in 2008. Barbara holds a Masters in Movement from Wesleyan University ('83), which included studies in kinesiology (anatomy in motion) and dance.
