Enclosed are warnings that pertain to each state as of April 1, 2006 Certain States require by law that their own speciļ¬ed warning notices in larger than normal type be conspicuously included by the manufacturer, distributor, or retail dealer with ļ¬rearms sold in that state.
California
āChildren are attracted to and can operate ļ¬rearms that can cause sever injuries or death. Prevent child access by always keeping guns locked away and unloaded when not in use. If you keep a loaded ļ¬rearm where a child obtains and improperly uses it, you can be ļ¬ned or sent to prison.ā
Connecticut

āWARNING: Children can operate ļ¬rearms which may cause death or serious injury. It is a crime to store or leave a loaded ļ¬rearm in any location where an individual knew or should have known that an unsupervised minor would gain access to the ļ¬rearm. Store your ļ¬rearm responsibly!ā
Massachusetts
āWARNING FROM THE MASSACHUSETTS ATTORNEY
GENERAL: This handgun/riļ¬e is not equipped with a device that fully blocks use by unauthorized users. More than 200,000 ļ¬rearms like this one are stolen from their owners every year in the United States. In addition, there are more than a thousand suicides each year by younger children and teenagers who get access to ļ¬rearms. Hundreds more die from accidental discharge. It is likely that many more children sustain serious wounds, or inļ¬ict such wounds accidentally on others. In order to limit the chance of such misuse, it is imperative that you keep this weapon locked in a secure place and take other steps necessary to limit the possibility of theft or accident. Failure to take reasonable preventive steps may result in innocent lives being lose, and in some circumstances may result in your liability for these deaths.ā
āIT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE OR KEEP A FIREARM, RIFLE, SHOTGUN OR MACHINE GUN IN ANY PLACE UNLESS THAT WEAPON IS EQUIPPED WITH A TAMPER-RESISTANT SAFETY DEVICE OR IS STORED OR KEPT IN A SECURELY LOCKED CONTAINER.ā
New Jersey
āIT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE TO LEAVE A LOADED FIREARM WITHIN EASY ACCESS OF A MINOR.ā
New York City
āTHE USE OF A LOCKING DEVICE OR SAFETY LOCK IS ONLY ONE ASPECT OF RESPONSIBLE WEAPONS STORAGE. ALL WEAPONS SHOULD BE STORED UNLOADED AND LOCKED IN A LOCATION THAT IS BOTH SEPARATE FROM THEIR AMMUNITION AND INACCESSIBLE TO CHILDREN AND OTHER UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS.ā
North Carolina
āIT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE OR LEAVE A FIREARM THAT CAN BE DISCHARGED IN A MANNER THAT A REASONABLE PERSON SHOULD KNOW IS ACCESSIBLE TO A MINOR.ā
Texas
āIT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE, TRANSPORT, OR ABANDON AN UNSECURED FIREARM IN A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN ARE LIKELY TO BE AND CAN OBTAIN ACCESS TO THE FIREARM.ā
Wisconsin
āIf you leave a loaded ļ¬rearm within the reach or easy access of a child you may be ļ¬ned or imprisoned or both if the child improperly discharges, possesses or exhibits the ļ¬rearm.
Safety Warning:
Failure to obey a safety warning may result in injury to you, to others, or to the product.
Caution: Always keep the muzzles pointed in a safe direction. Prior to using live ammunition, familiarize yourself thoroughly with these operating instructions. Know the forces required to operate the action, to pull the trigger and above all, KNOW THE LOCATION OF THE SAFETY. On this shotgun the safety is positioned on the upper tang and is operated with oneās thumb. The safety is in the āonā position when drawn to the rear exposing the word āSAFEā which is engraved in the upper tang. When the safety is pushed forward covering the word āSAFEā the shotgun is ready to ļ¬re. Your RBL is equipped with an automatic safety, the safety will move to the āonā position each time the breech is opened.
Attention to the direction the opening breach is pointed is critical. Guns equipped with automatic ejectors will propel empty shells with surprising force which can strike an eye or the face. To empty the ļ¬red shells, press top lever to right, press downward on the barrels. The discharged shells will eject.
Your RBL is chambered for 20 gauge 2 ¾ā ammunition only and is intended for use with standard ammunition.
We do not recommend reloads of any kind.
The only people qualiļ¬ed to work on this gun is CSMC. The gun is specially marked so the company knows if the gun has been worked on by anyone other than CSMC. Any outside work on this gun voids warranty and all CSMC responsibility.
Protect your gun with good gun care products. Give it regular attention, and it will provide you with many years of shooting fun.
Important ā Clean inside of the barrels and chambers to remove all grease and other possible obstructions before ļ¬ring your RBL.
Remember ā Rust is neglect ā Make sure all exposed metal surfaces are coated with a ļ¬lm of oil. After being subjected to damp weather, thoroughly wipe out the bore, and wipe off all exposed metal surfaces. Then apply a new ļ¬lm of light oil.
The action of you RBL has been lubricated with a light gun oil. Gun care products featuring these qualities are commercially available in spray can applicators. When lubrication is deemed necessary, we recommend a light application of the spray through the ļ¬ring pin and cocking lever holes in the frame, with the barrels detached and with both hammers cocked.
Conventional protective oil or grease may be applied to the exposed external metal surfaces of your RBL when the gun is to be stored for any lengthy period, BUT THESE TYPES OF LUBRICANTS SHOULD NEVER BE UTILIZED IN THE ACTION, AS SLUGGISH OPERATION OR DOUBLING IS APT TO RESULT.
Treat EVERY firearm as if it is LOADED
ā Place the safety āonā and select the barrel you wish to ļ¬re ļ¬rst by pushing the gold shift lever button in the trigger to the right to ļ¬re the right barrel ļ¬rst and to the left for the left barrel. A second pull of the trigger will ļ¬re the other barrel.
ā Place the safety in the āonā position. Push the top lever to the right to unlock the breech. Push down on the barrels to open the action. As desired, insert a shell into the chamber of the barrel chosen to be ļ¬red ļ¬rst or both.
ā Firmly shoulder the gun. Push the safety forward to the āoffā position and when on target pull the trigger. The second barrel may be ļ¬red by simply releasing and pulling the trigger again.
ā The RBL will briskly eject the ļ¬red shells and will extract unļ¬red shells far enough to permit easy removal by hand. Push the safety to the āonā position. To avoid being struck by an ejected ļ¬red case, direct the breech end of the barrels away from you before opening the action.
When through shooting always put the safety āonā.
NEVER STORE A LOADED GUN.
Installing or changing screw in choke:
1. Make sure the choke threads are cleaned and lightly oiled on both the choke tube and inside the barrels.
2. Make sure the barrels are off the gun, or the action is partially opened.
3. Start threading the choke tube into the barrel carefully by hand. Be careful not to cross thread.
4. After the thread is started use the special supplied friction choke tube wrench, make sure the tube is fully bottomed and even with the barrel.
The choke tubes are stamped, Full, IM, M, CYL, Skeet.
Use open chokes for steel shot
Be sure to remove the choke tube wrench before shooting. Do not ļ¬re riļ¬e or sabot slugs through this gun. Never ļ¬re the gun without the choke tubes being in place. Do not look into the muzzle or change choke tubes on a loaded gun.
