Page 1

We ChildPress reporters are searching for people we can rely on. Who does the right thing to help us feel safe.

We hope to include you one day too!

Is every child safe in Amsterdam, physically and digitally?

Are mayors informed about this, and do children know who they can rely on?

We look for reliable people. Our topics are urgent. They cover safety at home, at school and in the world. Will you…?

…discuss with us how urgent it is that so many children feel unsafe?

…take action yourself to reduce the number of children who feel unsafe?

Ask your Mayor if he knows how many youngsterfeel unsafe in town?

Support teachers …help to ensure that teachers supported to have more me to see each individual.

So that we can use our time at school for solutions and climate information.

We are looking for people who: 1. Care for us 2. Listen to us

3. Search with us for solutions and join our dialogues

4. Nominate new thinkers and doers together with us

MAYORS ensure that the city is organized in a way that allows people to live safely, that their rights are protected, and that problems are resolved fairly.

And the mayor must ensure that everything in the city functions in a way that keeps children safe, ensures they are heard, and gives them the opportunity to grow up healthy and happy.

WPFD2024 YOUTH PRESS ROOM

Mehrzad and Lars were part of the Unesco Youth Newsroom. In this Newsroom, they and 30 other young people covered the entire World Press Freedom Day 2024.. In addition to journalists, the Youth Newsroom included activists and fact-checkers. It is very important that the facts used are also checked. Only then can you practice constructive journalism. This project was started with the idea that the future generation (young people) should also have a place at the table of decision makers. Mehrzad and Lars learned a lot from the other young people and vice-versa. It was a project that is definitely worth repeating!

I can’t think of just one exemple, and that is the beauty of freedom of expression.

I can do my job as an activist.

WHAT CAN YOU DO AND SAY BECAUSE YOU HAVE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION?

I can fact check everyone, even my own president. I can say: “Mr. president, you are wrong.”
