MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Fuzzy Friends Rescue is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment, and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need. We want to instill in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share, encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.

• Building families through more than 500 adoptions annually.
• Daily care of animals: Providing food, necessary vaccinations, heartworm testing, medicine, and overall care in a clean, safe environment to more than 500 animals per year.
• The Pet Intake Sponsorship Program allows Fuzzy Friends Rescue to pull more animals from the City of Waco Shelter and other shelters throughout Central Texas, as they help to stop euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals.
• We have pulled approximately 1,418 animals from the City of Waco Shelter in the last eleven years.
• Our Spay/Neuter Fund ensures that all animals that leave Fuzzy Friends Rescue have been spayed and neutered to avoid unwanted litters, which increases the homeless pet population.
• We provide micro-chipping services to all animals at Fuzzy Friends Rescue, as well as to the general community to ensure proper identification so lost animals can be reunited with their owners.
• We provide humane education regarding animal safety and animal welfare to various community groups and schools.
• The SMILES Pet Therapy Program visits area nursing homes, upon request, to bring joy and comfort to residents.
• The Foster Program provides special care for new mothers and babies, as well as a temporary home environment for animals that may be in need of extra attention of socialization.
• The Angel Heart Medical Fund helps to provide “intensive” medical care for animals with special needs. It also helps to provide surgical procedures and rehabilitation for injured or severely neglected animals.
• We save lives.
• We house animals during natural disasters such as tornadoes, floods, or fires.
• Through their partnership with the Waco Family Abuse Center, they temporarily house pets for families fleeing domestic violence situations.
• Because of you, we have rescued more than 21,000 animals, since incorporating as a non-profit organization in 1997, and we continue to save more lives every day.
