OASIS : WALKING IN THE GARDEN Oasis on Saturday June 10th was, as always, a beautiful day of refuge from the busyness of life. At the beginning of the day, as the Full Sail team gathered together to pray, Trevor Ludlow shared a moment he had with God. The weather was cool and unexpected, and Trevor felt like the Father was saying that He made the day like this just for us. So that we could walk with Him together. Just like in the Garden of Eden. Just walking alongside each other in the cool of the day. Being together. We found that to be so true of the day. The Bennetts’ Ranch welcomes us to stop running around and just sit. Be quiet. Allow our souls to relax. Through the worship, we were able to reflect on Who God is and who He says we are. That we were made to receive love and that His love is constant, in spite of what our circumstances may say. Songs were sung. Words were spoken. Love had a chance to sink deep. Through times of prayer, conversation and communion, we were able to receive encouragement from one another. These Oasis Days draw many to come again and again. It’s become a community of believers seeking the heart of God, and His encouraging heart poured out from one person to the next. Offering words of hope and life. It was a good day. And we are so grateful to a Father who meets us where we are each time. He has no agenda but to be together. No end goal but to spend the day with us. Breathing in the cool air. pril 28-29, our Current for Women team partnered with Radiant Church and Praise Center Church in Visalia, CA to host another Living Hope: Finding Life in the Waiting weekend away. God had assured us going into this weekend that each woman who would be in those seats was perfectly planned by Him. And indeed they were! There was a very real sense that He had intentionally drawn and prepared every single attendee for a personal encounter with Him. From the very start, the room was filled with expectancy, women entering freely into worship and receiving the Word with wide-open hearts.

One woman came with a profound sadness in her heart. Having recently lost her husband, with whom she’d co-pastored for 30 years, to a long and draining battle with cancer, she was boneweary, deeply grieving, and devoid of joy. She expressed to Jill that, although she continued in her role as pastor, she felt like a fake for praying with people when she felt so dead inside. As soon as they began to pray, Jill thought of a kitchen sink filling, filling, filling with running water. They took that as direction for their prayer time. Jill said, “We welcomed God to come fill her empty and parched soul with Living Hope and abounding joy that flows from trust - not just to the brim of her heart, but to overflowing.”
All of a sudden, this precious lady began to chuckle, then to softly giggle uncontrollably as the joy of the Lord literally came and filled up her thirsty soul. All through the night and the next day, the joy of God poured in. At the end of the weekend, she came to Jill’s line for Communion, absolutely beaming and still stifling giggles! “My joy is back!” she whispered! Our goal is to do this not just during events but also in every area of our lives. Whether we’re enjoying personal time with Jesus, meeting a friend for coffee, or planning a community event, we desire to foster an environment that will allow us to make life-changing connection with the Father. We love creating these moments. Asking God to lead us to just the right elements that will open our hearts wide for the love of God to pour in and overflow. One of the many tools that we use to help facilitate connection with God during our events, including Current for Women and Oasis Day Retreats, are our Reflective Stations. These “stopping places for deep thought” allow us to fix our thoughts on God and our relationship with Him. Giving careful consideration to His thoughts of us. And our thoughts of Him.
OASIS : IN THEIR OWN WORDS “I honestly had no idea that I was that broken until they started singing the first couple of songs. All I felt was this rush of emotions running through my mind and my body and I found myself flooded with tears. I had no idea that I had been hiding from God when I felt that I was being so present with him. His presence was so rich and so strong that I had no control over what I felt that day no matter how hard I tried. I was broken. I was tired. I needed rest - and God gave me that in that moment! I felt His arms wrap around me and was so comforted by His love and spirit. Creating Safe Space and Un-Rushed Time in Penang
W
e are thrilled to announce that from September 3-29, our Full Sail team will be heading to Penang, Malaysia, a primarily Muslim country located just below Thailand. For the first portion of our outreach, we’ve been invited by Dalat International school to partner with them in hosting their Spiritual Enrichment Week (SEW) for the 300 7th – 12th grade students, parents and staff. Beginning with a worship night on Tuesday, September 12, the week will be filled with worship and teaching times, personal reflection times, breakout sessions, small group times, and prayer/personal ministry times, and culminating in a bonfire/sharing time on Friday evening, the 15th. During the second portion of our outreach, we will host a Current for Women - Living Hope weekend at Fettes Park Baptist Church for the women of Penang, including local Malaysian women as well as expats from around the world. Amazingly, according to locals, there has never been a women-only event like this in Malaysia. We are overjoyed with this exciting, unprecedented opportunity! Five of our Malaysian sponsors were able to attend the C4W we held in Thailand in March. They came to ‘spy out’ the event so that they could prepare themselves for hosting their own Current in September. One writes: “We didn’t realize how God wanted to work in each of us! I can tell you every one of us was spoken to in deep, deep ways… I can really see now how a lot of other women here are longing to receive from Him in this way here in Penang.” Needless to say, there is much anticipation and growing expectancy for what God will do!!
