Wool Layering System

When taking part in outdoor adventures, multiple layers of merino wool give the best protection. That’s why we have developed our own Wool Layering System. Several thin wool layers offer better insulation and temperature control than one single thick layer. We provide the best options for you – no matter what the temperature or level of activity. In addition, wool is a unique natural fibre with outstanding qualities: Wool is renewable, odour-free, soft against the body and insulates even when it’s wet.

U Wool Underwear

Our innermost wool underwear is close fitting, comfortable and forms the whole basis of our Wool Layering System.

1st Wool Layer

Our first layer of wool insulates and wicks away sweat – both during summer and winter activities.

2nd Wool Layer

Our second layer of wool absorbs moisture from the inner layers and provides extra insulation.

To make the layering system more comprehensible, we have made layer suggestions for each product presented in this catalogue. The layers suggested from us is not set in stone, it is to be regarded as an expert suggestion and recommendation from Aclima.

Here you see an example on how to dress for high level activity during winter.

FleeceWool

The award winning FleeceWool is produced in Merino wool that is knitted and brushed in a way that makes the fabric light, insulating and extremely soft to wear. Simply, 100% cozy and 100% comfy. Next season FleeceWool will come in two versions. We will keep the 100% Merino Wool material in the Crewnecks, Hoodies, Tops and Headovers.

For the Jackets and Joggers we have added 7% Recycled Polyamide and this has shown great results in order to improve durability. After evaluating these garments, which are more often used as your outer layer, we wanted to enhance the resilience. When it all comes down to making products that lasts, this is the most environment friendly solution.

FlexWool

The FlexWool range are super stretchy and very comfortable to wear. The unique fabric offers the best of both worlds, merino wool and perfect fit. The fabric is knitted jersey and it is mixed together with 21% polyester for durability and 5 % elastane for good stretch. Some products also include windstop panels, which is a sandwich construction with merino wool on both top and back fabric, and in between there is 100% PU for wind protection.
