Dr. Amanda Hamilton is a violist and violinist based in Wichita Falls, Texas committed to creating a thriving musical community for people to participate in at all levels through performance and pedagogy. Currently, Dr. Hamilton holds positions as section viola of the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and Sherman Symphony Orchestra, Adjunct Faculty of Violin at Midwestern State University, Violin and Viola Instructor with the Gail Key Academy of Music, Artist in Residence at the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and violin and viola coach at the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. During the summer, she performs in the music festivals Mahlerfest Colorado and New Music on the Bayou and serves as faculty at the International Summer Music Institute at the University of North Texas and the Wichita Falls Summer Strings Camp. Dr. Hamilton completed a Doctorate of Musical Arts while serving as Teaching Assistant to Dr. Daphne Gerling and a Master’s in Music studying with Dr. Susan Dubois at the University of North Texas and earned a Bachelor of Music at Florida State University under the instruction of Dr. Pamela Ryan.

Jose Saavedra Diaz is a double bass player with a vision focused on inspiring, teaching, and supporting the emerging global double bass artistry through pedagogy, performance, and social outreach of the double bass. Currently, Mr. Saavedra holds positions as section bass of the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra and MahlerFest Orchestra in Boulder, Colorado, Executive Director at the Bradetich Foundation, Adjunct Faculty of Double Bass at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, and Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, Artist in Residence at the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and Assistant Conductor at the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Saavedra graduated with a Master’s in Music at the University of North Texas, under the instruction of Prof. Jeff Bradetich, and conducting with maestro Dr. Clay Couturiaux and is currently a Doctoral student at this same institution.

Dr. Anne Dearth Maker is a flutist and music teacher based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. A diverse performer, she maintains an active freelance career and has performed with orchestras, musicals, contemporary chamber ensembles, and improvising ensembles around the country. Her current projects include AJA Trio (flute, viola, double bass) and the UT Tyler Faculty Woodwind Quintet. Anne particularly enjoys working closely with composers and has premiered multiple works written expressly for her, notably Whistleblower for solo piccolo by Jesse Maker and this place looks like it remembers snow by Louise Fristensky.

Alongside her performance works, Anne is an active teacher. She is faculty at the University of Texas, Tyler, Trinity Valley Community College, and Dallas College and maintains a private studio in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She frequently guest teaches and has taught classes on composer-performer collaboration, how to approach 20th century repertoire, and methods to introduce extended techniques and pieces to students.

Anne holds degrees from the University of North Texas, New York University, and the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers were Elizabeth McNutt, Robert Dick, Amy Porter, Sharon Sparrow, and Donna Olkowski.
