Bespoke wallcoverings are at the heart of what we do. Our collections are designed for a wide range of environments, offering a refined balance of design, performance and craftsmanship as standard.
Each design can be thoughtfully adapted in composition and colour, enabling interior designers and clients to align our collections with the specific character of a space — without the need to start from scratch.
Many of our materials are fire-rated as standard and well suited to low-traffic environments, making our existing range a practical, design-led choice for a variety of commercial settings. For more demanding applications, hospitality-grade materials and specialist finishes are available on request, ensuring suitability for high-traffic areas without compromising on craftsmanship.
COMMISSIONED SERVICE
Projects that extend beyond our standard collections can be approached with complete creative freedom. Working in close collaboration with interior designers and clients, our team will develop entirely new wallcoverings or reimagine existing designs, tailoring subject matter, scale, material, and technique to the specific character of each space.

MATERIALITY
Fromental wallcoverings can be adapted to suit commercial environments, preserving the integrity of the original artwork while responding to the practical demands of each space.
HAND-PAINTED SILK
Luxury, depth and craftsmanship define our silk wallcoverings, available across a range of exquisite bases including Silk, Strata Silk, Dupion Silk, and Silk Linen. Rich in colour and luxurious in finish, hand-painted designs can be enhanced with silk-thread embroidery, and specified with FR-rated options, making them ideal for feature walls and lower-traffic spaces.
PRINTED VINYL
Performance without compromise. Offered in various finishes and textures, printed vinyl provides durability and full fire-regulation compliance, with Type 1 and Type 2 specifications available, making it particularly suited to high-traffic and large-scale environments. Optional handfinished embellishment adds depth and an artisanal quality.

The same design can be realised in multiple ways across a project, depending on the needs of each space. A handpainted silk might be specified for feature areas where depth and richness are paramount, and the same design can be translated into a high-performance vinyl for more demanding, high-traffic zones. This allows for complete visual continuity, with each material chosen to suit its environment.

THE GORING
London’s last remaining family-owned five-star hotel, and favourite of the Royal Family, The Goring blends heritage with playful theatricality.
In collaboration with Russell Sage, our hand-painted silk wallcovering in the dining room reimagines a traditional chinoiserie, featuring champagne-stealing monkeys and symbolic serpents. In the lobby, a bespoke version of our Bucolic design introduces allegorical animals representing The Goring family members — a scheme famously handfinished by the Duchess of Cambridge.

MARINA BAY SANDS
For the Paiza Royal Collection Suites at Marina Bay Sands, three custom designs celebrate Singapore’s native flora and fauna while seamlessly complementing the hotel’s refined architecture. In the living room, hand-painted orchids, Singapore’s national flower, adorn metallic strata silk. Elsewhere, pearl-washed flowers and custom chinoiseries bring intrigue to armoires.

ST REGIS HOTEL
Designed by André Fu, the St. Regis in Wan Chai is a melding of worlds, where New York’s Art Deco glamour converses with modern Asian minimalism. Within the dining room of L’Envol, a bespoke marble-effect design unfolds across the walls, hand-painted on silk and accented with textured gold.

THE LONDON
When David Collins invited Fromental to create an iconic centrepiece for the lobby, Co-Founder Lizzie Deshayes turned to one of London’s most beloved landmarks: Hyde Park. Translating its tree-lined lattice of pathways into an intricate panorama — animated by horses, tennis players and even Sunday-morning dog walkers — the design roots the hotel in its transatlantic namesake.
At the sister property in West Hollywood, our Paradiso chinoiserie takes on a custom metallic finish, wrapping the interiors of the Ramsay restaurant’s niches in shimmering detail. Look closer and the narrative deepens: mischievous monkeys make off with Oscar trophies and cutlery, or slip into the guises of Hollywood’s greatest icons.

BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL SPA
Conceived by our long-time collaborators at Champalimaud, the Los Alamos design flows throughout the Beverly Hills Hotel Spa. Within the reception and into the treatment rooms beyond, bespoke additions of native flora and fauna — most notably banana leaves — root the experience in the Californian landscape. Here, thoughtfully tailored design anchors each guest to a sense of place.

In these curated environments, light, texture and pattern set the rhythm of a room, shaping moments of celebration and shared indulgence. CHINA TANG AT THE DORCHESTER
Before his passing in 2017, David Tang shared a twentyyear creative partnership with our Co-Founder, Tim Butcher. Nowhere is this legacy more vividly expressed than at The Dorchester’s China Tang restaurant, where an inky, kingfisher-blue Nonsuch lines the stairway, leading to a reception wrapped in rich mahogany Paradiso, before opening into a dining room adorned with a fully bespoke lotus and carp mural.
Most smile-inducing, however, is Tang’s joyful interpretation of our Singerie design. Here, monkeys take on narrative significance through references to the classic Chinese tale The Monkey King, embarking on adventures in vintage boats and cars — two of Tang’s great passions.

THE ORIENTAL CLUB
Within a 200-year-old institution, the bespoke Florent chinoiserie at London’s Oriental Club draws on the evocative Indian landscapes painted by Thomas and William Daniell. Architectural landmarks, elephants, peacocks, and mountainous vistas are woven into a rich crimson and olive scenic, infusing the space with theatrical elegance while subtly nodding to its colonial heritage.

1890 AT THE SAVOY
At Restaurant 1890, guests are welcomed into a “jewel box” of light — a space crowned by a bespoke Fromental ceiling, created in collaboration with Russell Sage.
Inspired by the restaurant’s Art Deco light fixtures, with their sculptural bronze petals, the design allows these gilded forms to continue their elegant unfurling across the ceiling, printed on luminous gold paper. Referencing the intricate geometry of guilloché work, layers of finely wrought spirals are set against an aged, gilded ground.

Within No.7 Bruton Street, the interiors engage in a playful dialogue between global artistic traditions and design heritage. Inspired by The Peacock Room — James McNeill Whistler’s celebrated masterpiece of decorative art — the dining room at Mott 32 Singapore evokes a similar spirit of opulence and theatrical grandeur. Created as a bespoke statement for the space, a custom wallcovering combines our signature saltwood technique, in which hand-applied salt draws pigment into beautifully unpredictable movements, with sweeping layers of cascading gold gilding, lending the room luminosity and an atmospheric sense of movement.
Elsewhere, a chinoiserie unfolds in soft mauves and woody browns, reinterpreted through a distinctly Singaporean lens. Native flora and fauna are woven throughout the composition, the local botanicals and wildlife lending the interior a strong sense of place and cultural resonance.

A signature design, Travertine was born from a moment of serendipity. While working in the studio, Co-founder Lizzie instinctively wiped excess gold paint onto a length of fabric, revealing an effect that echoed the organic strata and mineral veining of natural travertine stone. For the suites at The Landmark, the motif was reimagined in a woodgrain composition, its flowing strata taking on the rhythm and warmth of timber grain.

GLENMORANGIE HOUSE
Glenmorangie’s 17th-century Highland hotel was transformed by Russell Sage and Fromental into a bold, story-driven interior. In the Morning Room, our Clef des Champs design was hand-painted in gold leaf to evoke sunwarmed barley and the distillery’s whisky-making process, extending across ceilings, doors, and woodwork. Across twelve bespoke rooms, Fromental’s hand-painted silks meet Russell’s playful, couture-like vision, turning tradition into theatrical, immersive luxury.

In the village of Port Ellen in Islay, Ardbeg House transforms folklore, whisky, and the island’s elemental landscape into a kaleidoscopic interior under the vision of Russell Sage. From storm-driven waves in the Rebel Suite to crocodile and snakeskin-inspired textures, each space immerses guests in legend and luxury.
