More than 12,000 turned up at Auckland's Newmarket Park to see the Barrie Truman-coached New Zealand side take on the FA Cup champions who included familiar names such as goalkeeper Jim Montgomery, defender Bobby Moncur, Bryan Robson and Bobby Kerr. The Black Cats went home with a 3-0 victory, with goals by Moncur (2) and Roy Greenwood.
