Seit dem ersten Tag steht die Marke Freifrau für besonders bequeme Sitzmöbel. In diesem Jahr wird das Thema Gemütlichkeit auf ein neues Level gehoben: Zum einen wurde mit Mia das erste modulare Sofa im Produktport folio präsentiert, zum anderen hat sich Freifrau dem Trend des Low Dinings angenommen und bietet die Stuhlkollektionen Marie und Nana in einer niedrigeren Variante an. From its inception, the Freifrau brand has always been about comfort — and this year, its range of cozy, relax ing seating furniture is expanding, with two wholly new product lines taking the brand to a whole other level. On the one hand, there’s Mia, Freifrau’s first ever modu lar sofa system, while on the other, as a response to the trend towards low dining chairs, the Marie and Nana product lines now include a low-slung variant. Als typisches Freifrau-Produkt ist Marie ebenfalls dank unterschiedlicher Gestellvarianten wandelbar. Ob mit oder ohne Armlehnen, mit dem neuen Holzgestell erhält der Stuhl einen ganz eigenen und besonders wohnlichen Charakter. Auch hier rafft der umlaufende Rückenbügel das Kissen, was das lockere Erscheinungs bild zusätzlich verstärkt.

As is typical of Freifrau product lines, Marie is versatile thanks to a wide variety of frames: With or without armrests, its new wooden-frame variant lends the design a uniquely warm, homely feel. Here, too, the rear bar pinches the back of the cushion along the middle, underscoring Marie’s laid-back appearance.

Die Offenheit des Entwurfs erinnert an die zur Begrüßung ausgebreiteten Arme einer vertrauten Person und vermittelt Geborgenheit. Verstärkt wird diese Geste bei der großzügigen Loungevariante von Marie: Auch sie ist durch eine lockere Polsterung der Rückenschale geprägt, die von einem filigranen Stahlrohrgestell gehalten wird.

Reminiscent of a friend waiting for you with their arms outstretched, the open countenance of Marie’s design radiates comfort and protection — an aura underscored in the generously proportioned lounge chair variant, with the same relaxed upholstery in its rear shell, held in place by a graceful steel-tube frame.

Sitzen in die Höhe gedacht: Mit dem Stuhlentwurf Theia gestaltete Designer Sebastian Herkner ein Juwel des Sitzens — das Gestell schmiegt sich um die Rückenlehne und hält sie wie einen eingelassenen Edelstein. So ist es auch bei dem in drei Höhen erhältlichen Theia Bar Arm chair. Alle drei Typen (Bar/Counter/Kitchen Armchair) gibt es sowohl mit hohen als auch mit niedrigen Armlehnen.

Taking seating to new heights: With Theia, Sebastian Herkner succeeded in creating a real gem, a jewel in the crown of seating. Like the ring in which a gemstone is set, the frame wraps itself around the back of the chair — in the Theia Bar Armchair variant, too, available in three different heights (Bar/Counter/ Kitchen Armchair) and also with low armrests.

Graceful by name and nature, the Grace range is expanding, with a Lounge Chair in two variants (highand low-backed) and a footstool taking it from the dining room into the lounge. Just like with the line’s first chairs, the characteristically expressive graining of the premium taurillon leather covering makes each piece wholly unique.

Since it was founded, Freifrau has always worked in close collaboration with the Bavaria-based table-maker Janua. A partnership built on joint values, the courage to tread new paths, and an inexhaustible interest in innovative design, Freifrau and Janua portfolios match perfectly. Often, the ranges inspire each other — like with dual-brand colors, for instance, where Freifrau chairs’ metal legs are coordinated with the Janua table frame.

Seit seiner Gründung arbeitet Freifrau auf vielen Ebenen eng mit dem bayrischen Tischhersteller Janua zusammen. Not only the chairs from the Nana collection by designer Hanne Willmann are available as outdoor versions — the armchairs are now also part of the Nana family with covers that can withstand water and sun. Both versions, the classic Nana Outdoor Love Seat and the smaller version Nana Out door Love Seat Petite, can be combined with the matching Nana Outdoor Poufs.

Nicht nur die Stühle der Nana-Kollektion aus der Feder der Designerin Hanne Willmann sind ab sofort als Outdoorversionen erhältlich, sondern auch die Sessel sind nun mit Wasser und Sonne trotzenden Bezügen Teil der Nana-Familie. “Like sitting on a cloud” is the concept behind Hanne Willmann’s Nana collection for Freifrau, characterized by a beguiling blend of elegance, comfort, and sophistica tion. Besides chairs, a sofa, and the generously propor tioned Love Seat and Pouf, a new smaller Nana Love Seat Petite and matching Nana Pouf Petite are now joining this product line.

Nach High Dining kommt Low Dining — eine Verschmelzung aus Dining und Lounge. Was insbesondere im Outdoor bereich schon seit längerer Zeit vermehrt zu sehen ist, erhält mehr und mehr Einzug in Hotellobbys und auch private Wohnbereiche. Low-Dining-Tische sind etwas niedriger als klassische Esstische und können somit auch vor Sofas platziert werden. Ergänzend bietet Freifrau sowohl die Stühle der Nana-Kollektion von Hanne Willmann als auch die neu eingeführten Stühle Marie von Hoffmann Kahleyss Design mit einer etwas geringeren Sitzhöhe als ein normaler Esszimmerstuhl an. Forget high dining — now low dining is on trend. Already a standard part of outdoor seating at bars and restau rants, this laid-back, lounge-style approach to eating has started to appear in new contexts such as hotel lobbies and domestic living rooms. Low-dining tables are some what shorter than standard dinner tables, allowing them to be used with sofas — and Freifrau is now expanding the options with low versions of Hanne Willmann’s Nana line and of the new Marie chairs by Hoffman Kahleyss Design. Lower-slung than normal dining chairs, these variants are perfect for eating while you relax — or relax ing while you eat …

The versatile appearance of the new Mia modular sofa system is characterized by adjustable backs and armrests reminiscent of large-sized cushions. Besides its unparalleled levels of comfort, it is Mia’s adaptability which makes it so special: designer Ilja Huber has developed 11 modules which can be flexibly combined.

Das wandelbare Erscheinungsbild des neuen modularen Sofasystems Mia wird durch charakteristische Rückenund Armlehnen geprägt, die an großformatige, die Sit zenden auffangende Kissen erinnern. Die Mia-Kollektion besticht durch höchsten Sitzkomfort und ihre Vielsei tigkeit: Der Designer Ilja Huber hat 11 Module entwickelt, die sich flexibel miteinander kombinieren lassen.

Over the years, the Freifrau collection has never stopped growing — and, increasingly, has welcomed a variety of upholstered pieces such as armchairs, rocking chairs, and sofas. And to make these seats even more comfortable, Freifrau is now introducing its second collection of cushions. In addition to its well-known model with con cealed stitching (available in six sizes), there are now six further Freifrau cushions. With feature piping, each of the new models can be ordered in the full range of Freifrau textile covers.

Im Laufe der Jahre sind in den sich stetig erweiternden Freifrau-Kollektionen immer mehr Polstermöbel wie Sessel, Schaukelstühle und auch Sofas entstanden. Damit es auf ihnen noch gemütlicher wird, führt Freifrau nun bereits die zweite Kissenkollektion ein. Neben den bekannten Kissen mit versteckter Naht (erhältlich in sechs Größen) ergänzen nun passend zur Mia-Kollektion sechs weitere Kissen mit markantem Keder das Angebot.
