Background Research The project is heavily inspired by Chinese culture. Recently, a single player game called Black Myth Wukong sold 10 million copies in three days after its release. This proves that there is a huge market for video games in the Chinese market, it just wasn't tapped before the Black Myth WuKong was released. Before the Black myth Wukong , there was another mobile game, Genshin Impact. The Liyue area inside is based on Chinese culture . The game sold more than $10 million a month worldwide when it launched Liyue’s card pool
In addition to the above two games, there are many international manufacturers trying to integrate Chinese culture into their products. Like Blizzard Entertainment (World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria), Ubisoft (Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China) and KOEI TECMO (Sangokushi). All of these games were well received by the player community. After being inspired by the trailer for the 2020 release of the black myth Wukong, my team and I decided to make a game demo set in Chinese culture. The story is about a wandering wanderer who discovers a hidden temple hidden in the mountains and decides to explore it under the lure of money .
Background Research The main character was inspired by a special occupation during the Song Dynasty called biaoshi (bodyguard). His job is to travel from place to place, taking clients or cargos from their departure to their destination.
