1. The bronze altar outside of the holy place is a picture of judgment, reminding us how God must deal with sin and sinners. 2. The golden altar inside the holy place is a picture of a sacrifice being received and tells us how God deals with His saints. 3. God listens to the prayers of His saints. (Psalm 141:2) Let my prayers be counted as incense before you… (Proverbs 15:29) The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. (1 John 5:14) And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 4. God gives His saints power through Christ in prayer. 5. My prayers only have power when I have Christ as my High Priest. (Hebrews 8:1) Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum; we have such a high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens …
