Preparation for Resurrection: New King Dr. Chris Montgomery Matthew 21:1-17 | March 29, 2026
(John 6:27) But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval. What happens when Jesus becomes your King? 1. Comfort (Matt. 21:14) 2. Celebrated (Matt. 21:15) 3. Confusion (Matt. 21:15-16) How do I know Jesus is my King today? 1. Start where the King starts. 2. The King starts with correction. (Job 5:17) Blessed is the one God comforts… 3. The King only corrects those he loves. (Hebrews 12:6) For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” (Proverbs 3:11-12) 11 My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. 12 For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. How do I embrace God’s correction? (Revelation 3:19) I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
