1. Six guards with weapons and a man clothed in linen (Ezekiel 9:1-2) 2. The Glory of God and the Cherubim (Ezekiel 9:3a) Cherubim guard the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:23-24) Cherubim covered the atonement cover over the Ark (Exodus 37:6-9) 3. The writing kit and the mark on the foreheads (Ezekiel 9:3b-4, 11) God marks us for mercy, even the murderer Cain (Genesis 4:13-15) There is always a faithful remnant that remains (Genesis 6:5-10; 1 Kings 19:13b-14, 18) Revelation tells us the followers of God will be marked (Revelation 9:4; 13:16-14:1) 4. Slaughter all who are Guilty (Ezekiel 9:5-7) Sin leads to death (Romans 6:23; James 1:14-15) 5. Weeping for the Lost (Ezekiel 9:8) Mourning for the lost (Matthew 5:4; Luke 19:41-44) 6. God Knows and He Sees our Sin (Ezekiel 9:9-10) Where can we flee from God’s presence? (Psalm 139:1-4, 7) 7. God saves us, He forgives us, and He seals us with His Spirit God sent His Son to save us (Romans 5:6-8; 8:1) God has placed His seal upon us (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14)
