Home is a Feeling
before i would be quick to say that home is a place - where i grew up, where i saw my early days and really became who i am
as far as physical locations, haiti is my home, the original home
when i moved here, i found another home in new york, in the diversity of people, the possibilities, the multiple career reinventions
it's very similar to how i grew up - i was always encouraged to be curious, to be around different people and hear different perspectives
the memories i created at those physical spaces i considered homes are still there
they live within me
now i would say that home is a feeling
there are certain people who feel like home - they give me that sense of comfort and safety
home is something i can take with me - that feeling i can hold onto everyday
