Man ‘targeted’ in fatal attack Brodie Cowburn brodie@baysidenews.com.au A MURDER investigation is underway after a man died in Frankston last week. Just after 11.30pm on 10 June, emergency services were called out to Ashleigh Street in Frankston. A man had been found with critical in-

juries. The man, a 30-year-old from Heatherton, died at the scene. CPR was performed, but he could not be revived. The victim has since been identified as Matt Salau. Tributes to him posted on social media read that he was a “funny bugger” and a “very gentle spirit”. A police investigation into Salau’s

death is now underway. In a statement, Victoria Police said that the victim had been “targeted”. “Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and that the parties involved are known to each other,” Victoria Police said in a statement. “The exact circumstances surrounding the man’s death are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.”
