Tammy Wynette was recently honored with a lifetime achievement award by being placed in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Two of Tammy’s daughters, Georgette Jones and Jackie Daly, along with Jackie’s daughter Kristina, attended the awards ceremony in Los Angeles where the award was presented Feb. 3, 2024, before the actual Grammy awards on Sunday. Gladys Knight and Donna Summer were also included along with others for this award. Tammy Wynette is no stranger to the ceremony-receiving 16 nominations and two wins, and now is honored with the 2024 Special Merit Lifetime. Two days after receiving them for their mother, Georgette contacted Scotty Kennedy with the Red Bay Museum in Red Bay, Ala., which now has the largest display on Tammy Wynette anywhere. She and her sister Jackie stated “We would like to loan the award to the Red Bay Museum where people will be able to see the award. We are just happy it will be properly displayed for Mom and appreciate all that has been done for her at the Red Bay Museum.” This Thursday at 2 p.m., Georgette Jones and Jackie Daly will be at the Red Museum to present and loan the Grammy award to the museum. Some of Wynette’s clothing worn on stage will may also be presented that day. The museum will be open at 1:30 p.m. with no admission charge at that time, and everyone is invited to see the award and visit with Wynette’s daughters, as well as tour the museum. Tammy Wynette first hit the musical scene in 1966 with “Apartment #9” after moving to Nashville and teaming up with record producer Billy Sherrill. Together, the duo wrote songs that reflected the yearnings and the things Wynette felt were important in her life. In 1968, she released “Stand By Your Man,”
