Pulaski County Public Schools has been determined to provide our students with as close to a “normal” school experience as possible this year and we are extremely excited to get things started even though it will all look and work much differently than in years past. This season promises spectacularly unique experiences for everyone that are erratic in design and difficult to maneuver yet comforting in their normalcy.

The band program at Pulaski County High School has been a symbol of success and pride for the high school and residents of Pulaski County since the first notes were played in fall 1974. The program has received many awards ranging from marching band and concert ensembles, to the indoor winter performing groups. The instrumental program at Pulaski County High School has produced thousands of fine musicians over the years. It has been through the efforts of those musicians that the program at PCHS has been named a Virginia Honor Band 14 times. Emphasis on hard work and musicianship is what makes the Golden Cougar Band “The Pride of Pulaski County.” The band is under the direction of Tyler Lundy. HONORS AND AWARDS • Virginia Honor Band (15): 1986-87, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1994-95, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2000-01, 2003-04, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2018-19 • Performed in the Champs Sports Bowl on December 29, 2011 • Amherst Tournament of Bands: 2003 Grand Champion • Blue Ribbon Award: 2006-2007 & 2008-2009 • USSBA Virginia State Champions: 2008 Class 3A • USBands National Championships: 2012 Class 4A 13th Place • Marched in 2013 National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. • Marched in 2014 Virginia Governor’s Inaugural Parade • Marched in Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. • Performed in the Russell Athletic Bowl on December 29, 2015
