Shelbyville Valedictorian Emily Nicosia
is the daughter of Lisa Enmon and Chad Nicosia. She has one older sister, Hannah Nicosia, and one younger brother, Jake Nicosia. She has been a student at Shelbyville for 8 years. Throughout her High School career, she has participated in many different clubs and activities including National Honor Society, BETA club for two years, band for six years, and theater for four years. She has participated in University Interscholastic League (UIL) for all four years of high school in many events including Ready Writing, Editorial Writing, Headline, Science, and Literary Criticism. She advanced to regionals in both her sophomore and junior years. She has also been elected as class president for both her junior and senior years. In addition to this, she has participated in the revival of the book club during her senior year and is one of three seniors who make up the leadership committee. In her last year in high school she served as stage manager for One Act Play, which she has participated in for four years, was a section leader in the high school band, and joined yearbook. She enjoys tutoring her classmates and helping out those around her. After graduation, she plans to attend Texas A&M University’s school of engineering. There, she will earn a degree in mechanical engineering. She has decided to become an engineer because they have the power to change the world for the better. She wants to be able to make a real difference and this will give her the opportunity to do so. “I want to thank my family, teachers, friends, and classmates for pushing me to pursue my dreams and always supporting me. Mickenzie Murry
is the daughter of Mick and Ramona Murry of Shelbyville and the granddaughter of the late Cleon and Charlene Murry of Diboll and Welton and Linda Blackmon of Shelbyville. She has two younger siblings, Kendall Murry and Dallas Murry. She is a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. Throughout high school she was a member of school activities such as the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honors Society, and BETA, among others. Mickenzie is an active member of the Shelbyville athletic program and has many All-District awards. She has competed in softball, basketball, and cross country for four years, volleyball and track for one year, and was a cheerleader for two years. This past year, Mickenzie received Academic Allstate in basketball. Mickenzie was a manager for the Shelbyville Dragon football team where she spent many hours during the fall. Being a part of the football team made her realize that athletic training is what she wants to pursue a career in. This coming fall, Mickenzie will be attending her dream school, the University of Houston, and she will be majoring in Sports Medicine to later become a sports medicine physician, and she will also be a student-trainer for the University of Houston football team. Mickenzie would like to thank her parents for always supporting her in every possible way they could, and she thanks her siblings that have been at every game and event cheering her on. She could not have accomplished all that she has without the support from her family. She is excited for what the future holds and for what God has instore for her. 1 Corinthians 10:31 states, “Therefore, whether you eat, drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” Mickenzie gives God all the glory for getting her to the point she is at today, and for all He will continue to do in her life.

Timpson Valedictorian Ashlynn Lindgren
is the daughter of Ronald and Darla Lindgren, and the granddaughter of W.A. and the late Maebell Lindgren, and Horace and Dorothy Fletcher. She is graduating Valedictorian with a GPA of 100.0969 and 31 college credit hours. She has been a member of the THS Bear Band for 6 years and served as Drum Major for 2 years. Ashlynn has also been a varsity cheerleader for 4 years, FFA officer 3 years, and a FCCLA member. She was on the All A Honor Roll for 4 years as well as serving as the Beta Club President for 1 year. She was also a member of the Book Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, and served as a class officer both Sophomore and Senior years.

I want to thank God for everything he has done in my life such as my Pastor’s family and my church family for believing in me.
Chassity’s planning to attend Panola Cosmetology. Her favorite high school memories would have to be receiving the Band Sweetheart 2019-2020 award on Senior Night and singing the National Anthem for both the girls’ and boys’ senior nights of basketball.
