fter a day exploring the islands, one of the staff’s favorite moments is to prepare for the guests return to their suite. On request, a private ocean-view Jacuzzi is arranged with a selection of bath salts and a chilled bottle of Cava, creating a quiet space to unwind while the Galápagos landscape passes by. From the privacy of their suite, guests can take their time, reflect on the day and simply enjoy being at sea. It is a small ritual, but one that often becomes a memorable part of the journey.

he Holiday Club is the hotel’s nighttime alter ego — a theatrical, velvetlined lair sealed off from the lobby’s daytime flow by walls and lux acoustic velvet curtain separations, so the party inside stays contained and intimate. Guests part these sensual curtains to enter a room bathed entirely in amber and burgundy light: a chandelier of crystal bubbles holds the center of the circular room, banquettes curl in warm terracotta and rust velvet, and a mirrored, iridescent DJ booth throws shards of color across the club.

ehind many of the dishes served at Palmasola is a network of local growers, purveyors, markets, and fishermen personally selected by Executive Chef Edher Cervantes. Seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers are sourced from nearby organic producers such as Rancho San José del Valle, while fresh Pacific seafood including robalo, mahi-mahi, and shrimp is purchased locally according to the day’s best catch. For Chef Edher, sourcing close to home means more than exceptional freshness: it supports small local businesses and allows him to create menus that offer guests an authentic and distinctive taste of Nayarit.

nly five minutes from Tortuga Bay, the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Reserve reveals a very different side of Punta Cana. Yauya, one of its 12 freshwater cenotes, takes its name from the underground river that nourishes much of the reserve’s hydrological system. Surrounded by native tropical vegetation, its crystalclear waters invite guests to swim, explore and experience the reserve from a completely different perspective. For those seeking a little adventure, the cenote also offers a natural jumping point. They love how such a wild experience can be found just minutes from the hotel.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS —

ucked away beneath the hotel lobby, lies a magnificent wine cellar. Resting on the granite foundation of the 1722 Edward Bromfield Mansion, surrounded by an authentic 4th century Roman mosaic and the reserve collection, guests’ can view a champagne with a shipwreck story. In 1907, cases of Heidsieck & Co. Monopole champagne were loaded aboard the Jönköping, and then sunk by a German U-boat in 1916. Salvaged from the Baltic Sea in 1998, years after the champagne spent protected by the dark cold waters, it appeared at auction where they outbid all and won a case.
