South America & Antarctica Adventure 29 days departing 8th January & 30th January 2023 Escape to the ends of the earth, from Andean peaks, Patagonian glaciers, sandy beaches and a vibrant culture. You will start your adventure with a short stay in Santiago, Chile, where you will have time to acclimatise after your long journey, as well as enjoying a short half day tour to take in the cities highlights. Then you will journey aboard Holland America Oosterdam where you will cruise along the Chilean coast enjoying the culture and magnificent landscapes along the way. Before you make your way across the Drakes Passage to Antarctica you will have a stop in Ushuaia, located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World.” Your Antarctica adventure then starts for the next 4 days, where you are literally escaping to the ends of the earth, with rollicking penguins, towering icebergs and breaching whales. This frozen windswept continent is sure to be a memory and highlight of any holiday. You will then make your way along the east coast, with a popular stop at Stanley, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas). Before making your way onto Buenos Aires for a few nights to finish off this once in a lifetime holiday, during your stay we have included the perfect farewell with a night enjoying a tango and dinner show.

Itinerary Day 1: Depart UK Fly London to Santiago, Chile (overnight).
Day 2: Santiago On arrival in Santiago transfer to the 4-star Director Hotel where you will base yourself for the next two nights.
Day 3: Santiago City Tour Today you will enjoy a relaxing morning or afternoon tour of Santiago itself, where you will explore Santiago’s most significant sights on a comprehensive private guided tour of the city. Visit legendary landmarks and impressive monuments in stylish transportation with a knowledgeable guide, discovering the bohemian neighbourhood of Bellavista and the neoclassical splendour of Moneda Palace.
Day 4: Embark Cruise Private transfer from your hotel to Port of San Antonio to embark Holland America Line Oosterdam for your cruise.

As you pass dark, rocky Cuverville Island, you’ll see some of the 6,500 pairs of gentoo penguins that make their home there, the largest known colony in the world. Continuing on to Paradise Harbour, you’ll have a chance to observe not only gentoo and chinstrap penguins but possibly humans as well: Both Argentina and Chile have manned research stations here.

After a day and a half crossing the Drake Passage, which separates South America from Antarctica, your Holland America ship will arrive at the White Continent. On your Antarctic Expedition you will sail through the bays and islands of the Palmer Archipelago, off the northern tip of the long Antarctic Peninsula, which reaches out toward South America.
