At Forsyth, membership is more than just access, it’s about belonging to a community that values tradition, connection, and shared experiences. We offer several types of membership to suit different stages of life and living situations. Here’s a look at what each membership means in practice:
Resident Members are the heart of our Club community. These are individuals aged 21 and older who live within our designated membership area, which includes several counties in North Carolina. Resident Members enjoy full access to everything the Club offers—from social events and dining to golf, tennis, and more.
Many Resident Members have family ties to the Club, and we honor that legacy. If your parent is a current Resident or Senior Member, you may be eligible for a reduced initiation fee as a Legatee. This helps continue the tradition of multi-generational membership.
This membership is designed for individuals age 72 or older. Originating Senior Members bring a wealth of life experience and often enjoy the Club at a more relaxed pace.
Depending on the dues structure you choose, you may have full access to Club amenities or opt for a more limited plan. Those on the Senior dues plan enjoy most privileges but do not vote or serve on the Board, and golf access may be limited. It is a flexible option for those who want to stay connected without full participation.
Non-Resident Members are part of our extended Club family. These are individuals who live outside the designated membership area but still want to be part of the Club experience.
Non-Resident Members enjoy many of the same privileges as Resident Members, but with some limitations: voting and Board service are not included, and golf and tennis access requires guest fees.
To maintain the integrity of this membership type, Non-Resident Members are asked to limit their time in the membership area and visits to the Club throughout the year. Specifically, Non-Resident Members may visit the Club up to 40 times per calendar year and may not reside in the membership area for more than 25% of the year.
Qualifying ages for the above fee structures are applicable at the time the initiation fee is paid; after the applicant is posted and approved for membership. The food minimum requirement is $100.00 per quarter, applies to food only (no abc, wine or beer)
