For Others 2025 Annual Report

Building Momentum Behind the Mission

This past year marked meaningful progress in our shared mission to end the child welfare crisis in America, and it happened because of you.

Together with our partners, we expanded into new states and counties, and state leaders across the country began reaching out to learn how lasting change is possible. Some of these conversations opened doors we never could have imagined. We were also honored to receive federal recognition as a trusted partner to states. This is a powerful affirmation of the work you make possible.

At For Others, our role is to set the table. We bring state leaders, nonprofit partners, local churches, communities, and donors together around a shared understanding of the problem and creating a clear path forward.

This year, we strengthened that work by refining our Well-Being Support Ecosystem™ approach. We also created new tools that, for the first time, allow states to understand their local challenges and access proven solutions through a trusted network of nonprofit partners. By helping to align people, data, and resources across more than 10 states, we are building momentum that can lead to lasting, nationwide change for children and families.

None of this would be possible without you.

Thank you for walking with us and for believing that children and families deserve better. We are deeply grateful for your commitment and trust, and we look forward to what God will continue to do through our work together.

$14 Million in State Funding Unlocked to Create Lasting Change

After joining a Vision Tour with our partner, Restore Hope, Iowa leaders saw firsthand how the Restore Hope Model is transforming outcomes for children and families in Arkansas. They knew it could do the same in their home state.

Iowa proposed the boldest expansion of the Restore Hope Model to date, with the goal of bringing the model to 21 counties within three years. The vision was clear, but one hurdle stood in the way. Iowa needed private investment up front to unlock long-term state funding.

That’s where you, our Collective, stepped in. As a Collective, we are able to provide resources to make large grants with deep meaning.

Your generosity leveraged $997,000 in private capital to access $14 million in public funding, enabling Iowa to sustainably expand the Restore Hope Model over the next three years. This is the unique power of private giving: it sparks momentum, builds trust, and unlocks resources at a scale no single donor could achieve alone.

The return on this investment can’t be measured in dollars alone. It’s measured in families stabilized, children supported, and communities equipped with lasting solutions that will continue changing lives for years to come.

“[For Others’] leadership approached our team offering access to mission-driven initiatives and IT strategies that are pragmatically designed to strengthen families...We are indebted and grateful for the support and collaboration provided!

loaves and fishes

Thaddeus “Thud” Hill flew to Louisiana full of anticipation. As Executive Director of Timothy Hill Ranch, he was about to purchase a property for their first residential campus for troubled youth in the state, a dream one year in the making.

For Others committed $400,000 toward the new campus thanks to the generous support of our Collective. With the rest of the finances secured, Thud prepared to close on the ranch. Then, just two days before, he received a call: $300,000 of state funding meant to help purchase the property fell through.

“I got in my hotel bed and pulled the covers over my head,” Thud shared, feeling blindsided.

Timothy Hill’s growth into Louisiana was now in jeopardy, but what weighed on him most were the children who would remain in crisis without support.

Yet in his disappointment, Thud felt God calling him to stay the course. He searched for other local options and contacted the property owners to share what had happened, trusting God would make a way forward.

Amazingly, he didn’t even have to ask for help. Without prompting, the original property owners made the selfless decision to drop the price by $350,000. Their generosity turned despair into gratitude and renewed hope.

When the Need Is Great god Multiplies

That wasn’t the end. During Thud’s search for a plan B, he discovered the Heritage Ranch just five miles away from the original property’s location. He and the owners connected instantly over a passion for serving vulnerable youth. Just one month later, a shared vision took shape, and the Heritage Ranch welcomed Timothy Hill to serve youth using their property.

Where Thud planned for one youth residence, God provided two. Now, Timothy Hill can serve both boys and girls in Louisiana on these separate campuses.

Your faithful giving was the launch point for Timothy Hill to bring hope to Louisiana youth who desperately need a supportive environment to grow and heal.

Thud’s gratitude to our donors is clear: “We would not be in the door without For Others. Our launch into the state is tied directly to them.”

Where Thud planned for one youth residence, God provided two.

The Resources Exist They’re Just Not

Families rarely face one challenge at a time. A domino effect begins when a family experiences crisis in one or more of these 13 core areas:

• Economic stability

• Housing stability

• Childcare

• Employment

• Education

• Food security

• Mental health care

• Dental care

• Physical health

• Reliable transportation

Thanks to the generosity of our Collective, For Others made an investment of $1 million to Restore Hope which will expand its digital platform to:

• Substance abuse recovery

• Safety

• Legal services

Restore Hope’s model, which includes a digital platform and family advocates, is serving families across Arkansas, Michigan, Texas, and Iowa. The Model connects those in crisis with a family advocate and coordinates community services like transitional housing and career development.

• Connect more service providers, especially nonprofits that serve homeless populations, so families receive coordinated care with long-term results

• Use AI to monitor data and identify needs faster

• Give families a portal to view their progress and message their family advocate

• Integrate better with new service providers so they can join without disruption

• Free up family advocates to focus more on relationships and less on paperwork

With our grant, Restore Hope projects that these improvements will allow family advocates to serve 33% more families each year. And that’s possible because of you.

For Others’ strength lies in aligning states around a common framework that turns individual efforts into collective impact.

Partnering with For Others isn’t just funding good programs, it’s investing in the infrastructure that makes those programs work together. That’s how we achieve lasting, measurable change.”

Informed byData, Built for Families

A Concierge Experience for Foster Families

Arkansas leaders knew their foster licensing process needed improvement. To understand what families were experiencing, For Others invested in a comprehensive audit conducted by our partner, The Contingent, which leads the Every Child Arkansas program.

The Problem:

What began as a review of eight licensing steps revealed a far more complex reality. Families were consistently navigating 15 to 20 steps and being passed between as many as five different contacts from application to approval. While leaders understood their individual roles, no one had visibility into the full licensing journey. The data showed that rigid time limits unintentionally pushed families out when life intervened. Something as simple as a delayed document or scheduling conflict often resulted in closed applications, forcing families to start over or walk away entirely.

The Solution:

Guided by these findings, The Contingent mapped every step of the licensing process and translated it into a single, foster parentcentered guide. Now families can follow the path with clarity, guidance, and support, rather than confusion and isolation.

That clarity reshaped the program and led to Every Child Compass, a technologyenabled, concierge-style model that combines automated guidance and resource prompts with a dedicated Personal Support Agent from first inquiry through licensing and beyond. Through proactive outreach, clear communication, and practical support, families are guided through becoming a foster parent, actively fostering, and even making the decision to adopt, ensuring no family navigates the journey alone.

Because of your investment, the insights uncovered through this work are now shaping a model with the potential to strengthen foster licensing systems nationwide.

Diane and her siblings grew up in an abusive, unstable home. Her parents often locked her brothers and sisters in a room without food or water. When Diane tried to sneak food to them, she was beaten. The family faced repeated homelessness, and the children endured constant neglect.

Eventually, the kids were removed, and Diane was placed with our partner, House of Providence. They provide faith-based

residential care where children in foster care with intense trauma can heal.

Diane arrived underweight, covered in scars, and convinced she was unlovable. She lashed out at staff, yelling that she was a bad person. On her hardest days, she begged to be restrained, saying it was the only way she felt safe. Having had little schooling, Diane believed she was “dumb” and destined to fail.

The House of Providence caregivers never wavered. They welcomed Diane with patience and persistence, supporting her as she rebuilt her confidence. With encouragement and consistent help, she slowly started to succeed. The breakthrough came when she received her first good grade, running to show the staff with a huge grin.

“You were right!” she yelled. “I am smart!”

From that moment, Diane’s view of herself began to change. She went from barely able to read to earning straight A’s and a place on the honor roll. Her growth also extended far beyond academics; she found hope, belonging, and faith.

Today, Diane shares her story with other girls in foster care, urging them not to give up: “Maybe you don’t feel loved, or you feel alone. But you are loved by God, and He is always with you.”

Through your generosity, God’s love reaches children like Diane in tangible ways: through safe homes, steady care, and people who refuse to give up on them.

a home away from home

why ideal foster placements matter

Savana grew up surrounded by domestic violence and drug use. At 14, she was abandoned by her parents with nowhere to turn. Drugs became her only source of comfort, followed by homelessness and abusive relationships. Then, she became pregnant with Ari.

“I don’t think many people realize the impact fostering has, not only on the child but on the parents.” -savana

Ari was the brightest part of Savana’s life at that time. But when Ari was four, she was removed from Savana’s care. In those first days, the fear was overwhelming.

“My daughter was somewhere I don’t know, with someone I don’t know,” Savana says.

When they reunited for a visitation, Ari’s smile told Savana everything was okay.

Ari had been placed with Jackie, a foster mom who was the right fit at the right time. Jackie provided a calm, caring environment for Ari. She treated Savana not as an outsider, but as a mother working toward reunification.

Ari spent just four months in foster care, much shorter than the national average of 23 months. Savana feared losing support when she regained custody, but when their case closed, Jackie did not disappear. Instead, she chose to stay, offering friendship and help long after Ari returned home.

“I will always be here to support you,” Jackie promised. Years later, she’s still a trusted presence in their lives.

This is why strategic foster placements matter. When children are placed in well-matched, supportive environments, birth families are given the best chance to succeed.

Your support makes it possible for our partner, The Contingent, to use data to connect children with ideal foster families who can meet their specific needs. For families like Savana and Ari’s, it’s nothing short of life changing.

the power of mentorship “

I’ll Never Leave You”

Katherine often says, “I don’t remember much of my story.” At just four years old, she and her brother were removed from their home due to abuse. Katherine remained nonverbal until age seven, carrying memories too heavy for words that surfaced only in fragments.

After moving through multiple foster homes, the siblings were eventually separated. Katherine entered a living program for youth in care, and for years, she learned how to disappear. She hid behind her hair and glasses, blending into the background.

What she wanted most was someone who wouldn’t let her disappear. Someone who would stay, listen, and care.

In high school, Katherine learned about our

partner Connections Homes’ program that pairs youth in care with ideal mentors.

“This is exactly what I need,” she said. Hope was finally within reach.

Katherine was matched with Lidia, a bright, steady, and deeply encouraging mentor. Lidia showed Katherine what it felt like to be seen. They grew their bond through weekly meetings and a shared journal they passed back and forth, filled with thoughts Katherine had once carried alone.

Over three years, their connection became a reliable constant in Katherine’s life. Lidia helped her step beyond her comfort zone and begin to believe in something more. Slowly, Katherine found her voice again.

As Katherine prepared to age out of foster care and move out of state for college, instead of another goodbye, Lidia made her a promise: “I’ll never leave you.”

Using the skills Lidia taught her, Katherine is now working, building credit, and saving toward a future she once thought impossible. They still talk weekly, and amazingly, distance has only strengthened their bond.

This is the power of mentorship. Because of your support, young adults like Katherine don’t have to navigate life alone. Steady and meaningful connections give them hope for a bright future.

With counseling, mentorship, and faith, Natasha began to heal from years of pain. She found her footing again and no longer saw herself as a victim, but as a survivor and a mother capable of leading her family forward. Her healing rippled through her children’s lives as well. With stability, their grades improved, their smiles returned, and the weight they had been carrying began

Then came a powerful milestone: three of Natasha’s four children chose to be baptized, declaring their faith and taking a profound step in their restoration.

Natasha and her children came dangerously close to losing one another. But today, their future together is possible because people like you refuse to let families fight alone.

When you join our Collective, you ensure families like Natasha’s are no longer defined by what they escaped, but by the hope

Back to Her Children

After leaving a 22-year abusive relationship, Terri, a deaf single mother, found safety in a domestic violence shelter. While she was there, her ex-in-laws gained custody of her two children, claiming she was homeless and unfit. The sudden separation was devastating, and communication barriers made an already painful situation even harder to navigate.

Determined to reunify with her children, Terri knew securing stable housing was the key. After weeks of searching, she found an apartment just in time for holiday visits. But without the resources to furnish it, including two beds required for reunification, everything she had worked toward felt fragile.

Why Showing Up Matters

For the past three years, Henry has returned to the field at Night of Champions, a football camp hosted for children in foster care by Coyote Hill, For Others, and the Mizzou Tigers football team. Each year, he showed up with the same quiet determination, even when participation felt overwhelming.

Henry faces challenges with focusing, listening, and fast-paced group settings. In previous years, he needed frequent breaks and was unable to complete the football drills alongside the other kids. A one-onone buddy from the Mizzou football team stayed by his side, helping him join where he could and creating moments of fun when the structure became too much.

This year looked entirely different.

Henry still had a buddy, but something had changed. He stayed on the field. He listened. He focused. For the first time, Henry completed every drill with the other kids. Coaches and players noticed immediately, commenting on the growth they saw in his confidence, maturity, and ability to engage.

For Henry, this day marked a milestone years in the making.

With the right environment and the right people around him, Henry was able to do something he had never done before. His growth reflects his own strength and determination, the consistency of Mizzou players who showed up year after year, and the steady support of a safe, stable foster home. We’re so grateful for Coyote Hill and our Collective who help fuel their lifechanging programs.

Before she connected with the 100 Families Initiative, single mom Rebecca saw few paths to bringing her children home. Looking back, she’s honest about where she was.

“Before I got connected with 100 Families, my life was full of addiction and bad decisions.”

The loss of partial custody followed, and the possibility of losing her children entirely felt imminent. She worked just a few hours a week at a local radio station, the only job she could find with a charge on her record. It wouldn’t be enough to rebuild her life or reunify with her children.

Her turning point came in the stillness of a jail cell. Rebecca reconnected with God and began reading her Bible. Determined to make a change, she checked into rehab once she was released and reached out to our partner, Restore Hope. From there, the long work of reuniting her family began.

Walking with Parents in Their Hardest Season

Through Restore Hope’s 100 Families

Through Restore Hope’s 100 Families Initiative, Rebecca connected with an advocate who believed in her. With their steady guidance, she met goal after goal on the road to bringing her children home, including conquering her addiction. “They helped me find myself and find my spark again,” she says.

Through hard work and dedication, Rebecca secured her dream job as a phlebotomist, found a permanent home, and saved enough to buy a car. Finally, the journey that started in a jail cell reached its destination: Rebecca and her children were officially reunited! After years of uncertainty, she did the quiet, difficult work of rebuilding her life so her children could finally have the safety and stability she always hoped to give them.

Rebecca’s story is a testament to restoration, second chances, and what’s possible when families are supported through their hardest seasons. Because of your generosity and partners like Restore Hope, parents in crisis like Rebecca don’t have to walk alone.

Finally, the journey that started in a jail cell reached its destination: Rebecca and her children were officially reunited!
