Assistant General Manager, Emma Gore I want to start by thanking you all for your hard work, dedication, and flexibility that you displayed this past year. We have come a long way from the beginning of 2021 where we were unsure of what amenities we would be able to offer our members. Each department has faced these challenges with confidence, poise, creativity, and a passion to surpass expectations. You should all be very proud of yourselves for the exceptional job you have done with half the workforce, or less, that you usually have. The most amazing part is that you all did it with a smile, even if at times, it may have felt more forced than genuine. Please take a moment to celebrate your 2021 successes. We hosted 25,873 rounds of golf on our Championship Golf Course and 3,443 rounds of golf on our Valley Golf Course We hosted 17,090 members and guests in the a la carte dining areas We hosted 9,181 members and guests at Club sponsored events

As most of you already know, I will be going on maternity leave in February. Larry Marx, who is also my dad, will be coming on at the start of February for a five month period to lead the Club during this transitional period. We look forward to welcoming him to the team.

Emma Director of Membership, Ryan Schaben Wow! It is hard to believe we have already said goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022. We have a great Club, great members and an exceptional staff working here, and I hope you all take as much pride in the Club as I do. This is the first quarterly issue of the Clubs inaugural staff newsletter, “The Roadmap”. Think of it as a fun communique amongst the staff. If you have any photos or ideas for this newsletter, please send them to Ali Kaplan. I’m sure by this point most of you know we have been on a Membership waitlist for a few years now and that waitlist continues to grow. I get asked all the time what I think has contributed to the success of the Club, and there’s no doubt that all of you make the Club special. Many industry leaders argue that your staff are your #1 asset.

Heading into 2022, we have 70 families on the golf waitlist and 40 on the waitlist for social membership. For some, this could mean a potential 2 years before joining the Club. • The Club has 650 member families • There are between 1,300 – 1,400 dependents/kids at the Club • We only offer two categories of Membership; Social and Golf

Mike Bellville Q: How long have you worked at Forest Hills and what do you do? A: 8 years! I am the Outside Service Manager for the Golf Shop. Q: What is your favorite thing about working at FHCC? A: Being able to work outside and interact with our golf membership. Q: What do you like to do in your free time? A: I coach high school summer baseball for Ballwin Legion. Q: Tell us a random fact about yourself. A: I am a huge fan of racing (Nascar, Indy Car, Formula 1). Q: What are you watching on Netflix (Hulu, AppleTV, etc.)? A: I am just finishing up season 2 of Ted Lasso. Q: What is your favorite memory from working at the Club? A: All of the Member-Guest Tournaments. Seeing the hard work put in leading up to the event and the final product especially those Saturday evenings! Always looking for new things our staff can offer to make the member experience better. Q: What is a piece of advice you remember from a great boss? A: Perception is reality.

A: Working with and getting to know all of the staff. Q: What do you like to do in your free time? A: Cooking or DIY projects around my house. I’m about to renovate my kitchen. Q: Tell us a random fact about yourself. A: I’m a better dancer than you’d think! Q: What are you watching on Netflix (Hulu, AppleTV, etc.)? A: Rewatching a bunch of the different Marvel movies. Q: What is your favorite memory from working at the Club? A: Saran wrapping a former employees car on his last day in the kitchen. Abigail Koch 1/30 Food and Beverage Dear Forest Hills Family, We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all the Forest Hills Staff for an amazing year. This was our first year as members of the Forest Hills neighborhood and country club, and it was such a wonderful time for our family. We moved into the Forest Hills neighborhood to give our oldest son Patrick some independence. Patrick’s neurological issues leave him unable to drive and participate in some typical teen activities. However, Forest Hills provides him the opportunity for the social interactions he seeks without having to leave the neighborhood. The Forest Hills CC staff has been so kind and welcoming to him. He loves to converse with Matt by the pool or the pros in the golf shop and is front and center with the DJ’s at every event requesting his favorite songs. He is anxiously awaiting the return of summer for more fun at the pool. While initially the move was for Patrick, the rest of us have greatly benefited as well. Haddie and Liam LOVED their first year on the swim team with Coach Kevin as well as the junior golf program and Coach Kyle at the tennis courts. I had to pinch myself at the pool one day, asking myself if this was really their childhood? It all seems so surreal. I know they are having the best time! They are already looking forward to the 70 degree water for their first swim practice next year!! The family events from the Swim Meets, Luau, Easter on the Grass, Halloween Party, etc. they have all brought our family so much joy. It is so nice to have events that the whole family looks forward to attending together. We have made so many wonderful memories here already. The event planners knock it out of the park every time! Gina is also super helpful when we have an event to plan. We can rest assured that all our guests will leave with a smile. All hourly staff is to enter and exit through the back entrance of the Clubhouse. Please be reminded that all hourly staff should enter the Club through the entrance off of the Ballroom Veranda, located near the Terrace Room and Men’s Locker Room. Uniformed staff should not enter through the main entrance of the Club. Staff not in uniform should enter through the loading dock. Additionally, all staff should park in the parking lot across the street from the main Clubhouse, adjacent to the Tennis Facility / Pickleball Courts. Staff should not be parking in the main member lot. If you have any questions, please talk to your supervisor. Thank you for your cooperation.

Most of the staff dressed in costume for the 2021 Haunted Autumn Extravaganza on Friday, October 15th.

“We had our first dinner at The Club last Thursday DURING THE MONSOON with our youngest son, Lucas, & his sweet girlfriend. We were celebrating his wonderful new job offer!! We were taken care of & our experience was superb. We loved EVERYTHING!! We had such a lovely, wonderful evening in spite of the storm.
