INTRODUCTION
Covid-19 has caused unprecedented disruption to the nation and has disproportionately impacted the audiences we’re trying to reach through this programme. We believe it’s more important than ever to tackle the inequalities that impact on the abilities of these audiences to be physically active through football.
3
Thank you for your continued interest in the Active Through Football programme. This Full application stage offers you the opportunity to set out your proposed project and share details of the collaborative work you’ve undertaken within your consortium.

OVERVIEW
Complete the full application form here
The ultimate goal of the programme is to increase activity levels in people aged 16+ from lower socio-economic groups and support sustained activity through behaviour change. How this is achieved, is vital to the success of this programme. Community Engagement needs to be at the core of your approach. For the selected Places, this initial engagement is just the start. Continually developing a better understanding of your target audiences is critical, so engagement is an ongoing process throughout the project. We want you to use this application to tell us what key settings for the delivery of football activities have been identified and how you propose to deliver activities in those settings. Focus should always be placed upon sustainability, with community ownership and the development of a local workforce considered from the start.
We’ve invited 45 consortia to work up their Full Applications. All the submitted applications will be assessed and we’ll offer 5-year Sport England National Lottery revenue grant awards to up to 15* Places. Although we’ll be unable to fund all applications, we do want to work with all consortia to use the insight gained to support other projects in your local area. Your Full Application submission will include a 5-year financial forecast, details of any partnership contributions that you’re able to secure, and your First Year Delivery Plan. These will be used to calculate your grant request to the Football Foundation. We don’t anticipate making any grant awards in excess of £1m over the five-year period, and envisage awards of such value being the exception, rather than the norm. This document is an off-line version of the application form. The Supporting Document boxes explain within each section, what additional information we require in order to assess that criteria. You’ll need to complete and submit the online application form within the Football Foundation’s grant portal to apply.

* this is an estimate based on the programme budget. A greater number of grants could be awarded if budget allows.
