Mr. Submarine Marks 50 Years
Founded by Greek immigrants and brothers-in-law Gus Tzoumas and John Kladis, Mr. Submarine’s story has always been one of hard work, community connection, and steady, values-driven growth. Today, the company operates 20 locations across the Chicagoland area, including seven still owned and managed by the Tzoumas family. Many of the remaining locations are run by franchisees who began their journey as employees, worked their way up, and ultimately became owners – an embodiment of the brand’s commitment to opportunity and longevity. Now 79, co-founder Gus Tzoumas remains deeply involved in day-to-day operations, a testament to his passion and dedication.
