In Guatemala, half of all children below 5 years of age are suffering from malnutrition, earning the country the unfortunate designation as the nation with the highest rate of child malnourishment in Latin America, according to UNESCO.

Since its founding in 1982, FFTP has built over 93,600 homes in Latin America and the Caribbean for families in need, breaking the cycle of poverty and providing them a path to a brighter future.

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are the one I praise.” (Jeremiah 17:14, niv) Thanks to generous donors and partners, FFTP supplies medicine and medical equipment to clinics and hospitals in Latin America and the Caribbean. This dependable support gives vulnerable children and infants the proper medical attention they need to grow up healthy.

ANGELS OF HOPE

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” (Matthew 19:14, niv)

Our Angels Of Hope sponsors support more than 7,000 vulnerable children in children’s homes throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. They receive food, clothing, shelter, education, and love to help them develop mentally, physically, and spiritually in a loving environment.

EDUCATION

Education is important to breaking the cycle of poverty and FFTP is devoted to the work of creating safe places for learning. Through generous donors, the organization builds, renovates, and expands schools and equips schools with furniture, books, and educational supplies.

WATER PROJECTS

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37, niv)

Contaminated water is a major cause of serious illness and even death in many developing countries. In 2022, FFTP installed 1,564 water projects that provide water and sanitation to hundreds of thousands of people in need.

MICRO-ENTERPRISE

“The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity ... ” (Deuteromy 28:11, niv)

Food For The Poor provides tools, skills training, and income-generating programs that include sewing, fishing, auto repair, computers, and electrical engineering to enable families living in poverty the chance to earn income.

EMERGENCY RELIEF

“Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” (Psalm 46:2, niv)

Several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean are prone to natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods. FFTP is always ready to respond quickly, providing relief and emergency supplies, including disaster kits placed in communities in advance.

Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of hungry children and families living in poverty primarily in 17 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicine, educational materials, homes, support for vulnerable children, care for the aged, skills training, and micro-enterprise development assistance.
