When is the Student Poster Showcase? Friday, January 19th, 2024 from 9AM-12pm EST via Zoom (Zoom details will be provided to participants prior to the event. ) What is the Student Poster Showcase? The Student Poster Showcase is hosted at the start of each year to promote student research and engagement. This free research activity is open to FMHCA Student Members and provides a valuable opportunity for students to present their work in a noncompetitive environment. Using digital presentations, students are given the opportunity to interact with faculty FMHCA members and board members. Students can add this resume building experience to employment and school applications. Live Poster Session Instructions • Each live poster session is 30 minutes long—you will be expected to be available during the entire time. • Day of: o Make sure your Wi-Fi or internet connection is secure. o Ensure your room is well lit and camera positioned properly. o Use earbuds or headphones to ensure good sound quality. o Silence cellular or other electronic devices to ensure people or pets will not be able to disturb you. • During the Poster Session: o Enter your virtual poster session room 2-3 minutes prior to the start time using the Zoom link you received. o Turn your video on and use a virtual background. o Share your screen and poster PDF using your computer and leave it up the entire 45 minutes. o You will need to be able to focus in on different parts of your poster during the session. o Be mindful of the time. Your ePoster will be displayed on monitor screens as an interactive mini-website for you to display and present your research. Posters can be designed in Powerpoint, InDesign, Canva, or Prezi.
