Our trip to the Marié River in the Amazon was an unforgettable adventure full of excitement, challenges and unforgettable moments. Our goal was to catch the coveted trophy peacock bass and we, a group of experienced anglers and friends, were ready to take on the challenge.
We were Chantal Chone, Chris Walsh, Marco Löcher, Stephan Kreupl, Thomas Mauer, Andreas Bächle, Helmut Alleze, Helmut Zaderer and Vaidas Uselis, accompanied by our expert guides and Rodrigo Salles, Pamela Salles and Shyanne Orvis.
Our trip began with a breathtaking flight from Manaus, where we spent almost three hours in a small chartered plane, a floatplane, to the Marié River and landed directly in front of our houseboat. This not only gave us luxury in the jungle, but also the flexibility to explore new stretches of river every day and continue our fishing adventures.
