My name is Maegan Bowers-Petway. I’m a 28-year-old Nashville Tennessee native. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 4. I started riding a 50cc Honda with training wheels. I progressed shortly after and took them off. I would go to the racetrack with my dad and pit for him. I would pull him back with a rope tied to our scooter. This taught me balance. I had to focus or else we both would fall. When I was 15, I asked for a “big bike.” I had to show my dad that I could handle switching gears. It only took me a month to get the hang of it. My Rebal 250 was too slow and I longed for more power. For my 16th birthday, my dad bought and customized me a 1989 GSXR 1100. After riding on the street for some time I wanted to drag race. I always dreamt of being a professional motorcycle drag racer. When I was a little girl my dad and I would practice on my launch. He would line me up on my Honda 50cc dirt bike. I would get into position and wait until he dropped his towel to take off. I kept making him practice with me until the sunset. Present-day, I drag race a 08 Hayabusa, 2015 zx-14 Kawasaki, and a Pro Ultra 4.60 drag bike. Drag racing is therapeutic to me. When I let my shield down and get into the staging beams, I know it’s “Go Time.” My heart is on the track. If I could, I would race every weekend. I love inspiring other women to race or just ride on the street. I always tell them, “Don’t be afraid to start because we all started there once.” You don’t need a fast bike to race or have any special type of skills. Line up and make-believe you are at a stoplight. When the light drops to green, GO.” Life is about taking chances and following your dreams. Never stop aspiring to be your best self.”

In my spare time, I ride a 05 Harley Softail on the street. I will always be grateful for my hometown racetrack Music City Raceway. That is where I met my husband/ racing teammate Jimmy “No Fear” Petway. I have faced many obstacles in life, one being diagnosed with Lupus. My doctor advised that I shouldn’t ride or race anymore due to my disease. Since then, I have promised myself that I wouldn’t let anything get in my way of achieving my dreams/goals. My goal for 2022 is to win a championship from XDA or Mancup. 365JEEPLIFE was founded by Jorge Martinez in October 2012 the headquarters are located in Orlando, Florida and they have followers from all over the world 365JEEPLIFE is a Jeepers network not a group or club. It was created for all jeepers around the world that share the same passion. 365JEEPLIFE has received a Proclamation Day in the city of Meriden Connecticut Sep-2-1017. They have done many humanitarian activities to benefit veterans, police, and patients that are fighting cancer. 365JEEPLIFE is all about giving back and helping the community they also participated in helping with donations for disaster victims that were affected by the hurricanes in Houston,

Pensacola, Miami, Bahamas and Puerto Rico. When the hurricane that destroyed Bahamas, they sent a cargo boat full of donations For Hurricane Maria. When Puerto Rico was devastated by the hurricane, they collected 26 containers 53ft long filled with donations. They also mobilized 30 flights to the island bringing medications, food and bringing back patients in need of medical attention. Also collaborated

with a group of doctors on the island to set up medical clinics to check on the wellbeing of the people. 365JEEPLIFE created a group of jeepers on the island to make sure all donations were delivered to the people in need. At the end of the project, they finished by reconstructing roofs of houses for

people with special needs. We asked Jorge what Jeep riding means to him. “For me riding is amazing a release of stress a sensation of freedom it’s like riding a motorcycle. Boricuas en Orlando ATV My name is Christian Kassar. I am 25 years old. I am passionate about this sport and it has helped me a lot as a person to grow and mature as a human being. I am a humble person dedicated to his projects that I like to share and help others. This group is located in Orlando Florida and was created in 2018. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves a lot to the appearance of the page, bringing well-created professional content to our followers. Thanks to them, our page is in a position that has led us to visit several states in the USA (Florida, Texas, Georgia). This sport is everything to me, where I have dedicated my time to

carrying out activities for everyone. It is something fun that I really enjoy. This group has had events in Texas 2019 and 2021 in collaboration with different groups where many people have participated, we have also had several events in Florida. An emotional Andre Kress, principal partner at Corsa Moto Works met with me to share about his friend Chris Cane and the legacy he left behind. A legacy in my opinion that has likely saved lives. Through The

CAANE Foundation (Chris’ Advocate Assisting Novice Enthusiasts), riders who are not quite well equipped as they should for their protection can go to The CAANE Foundation and get outfitted for free or for a simple donation. The CAANE Foundation receives and donates hundreds of used and brand new or nearly new jackets, gloves, boots, helmets. I have seen it with my own eyes. The place is filled with equipment. There is no shame in going to The CAANE Foundation asking for help to get outfitted or, to do it for a friend or a relative who needs it! You are likely to save someone’s life or your

own. I was coming back from Tierra Verde, Florida on my s1000rr a few weeks ago followed by another bike who’s “pilot” seemed to think it was a good idea for him and his female companion to ride 100mph+ no helmet, sandals, shorts and t-shirt on. Chris Cane aka the “Gear Police” would have lost his bearings to see this guy. This “pilot” clearly wanted to race with me so in an attempt to defuse his stupidity, I slowed right down. This blue tone R1 straight short pipes “pilot” clearly needed safety gear. More importantly…he needed some additional brain cells. The Fran Haasch Law Group is currently assisting The CAANE Foundation to set up as a charity organization. Andre Kress is determined to keep Chris’ legacy going. Staff, clients and volunteers help. Clients have come in simply to purchase new gear and donate it. Some give their used gear. Some even give brand new tires. If you are in need, there is a way through The

CAANE Foundation. I think of riders who’s only mode of transport is two wheels and this could really make a difference. Andre Kress former founder of MANX Motorsports now principal partner of Corsa Moto Works located in Clearwater Florida specializes in European bikes as well as other brands of speed bikes, vintage and classic restorations. Kress met Cane back in 2010. Cane was one of Kress’ first client if not the first. They both shared the same passions and values and they both had Triumph’s Daytona 675. Another true “Collision of Dreams” Relics Retreats “A Collision of Dreams” © | No Strings Attached - ENews (nsaen.com) took place. Both became brothers hence the emotional Kress during our talk for this editorial. Corsa Moto Works’ values have been greatly influenced by Kress’s profound respect for danger. They cut no corners and they will do what they can to help riders “change statistics”.

My name is Nick Desmond, I am 25 years old. I grew up in Massachusetts & have lived in St Augustine since the summer of 2021. Riding dirt bikes is my passion in life, I have been riding since I was 9. My cousin Erik got a dirt bike when I was 7, and from the moment I saw it I knew I was hooked... that feeling still hasn’t changed. This past fall I went professional in freestyle motocross unexpectedly. I got into FMX from some friends up north (Thanks @JMFMX & Paul) but only knew basic seat grabs until October of 2021. Fast forward a

few months and I am now riding for USFMX/Monster Jam doing shows all over the country. I made a great friend (yes you Rich) when I moved, who helped me progress rapidly as a rider. My next show is March 19th at the Jaguars Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. My bike is a 2019 YZ 250. Aside from your typical FMX modifications like cutting grab holds & shaving the seat, my bike is mainly stock for now - my hope is to set up suspension & install a steering stabilizer soon -these mods will help progress with some tricks that I have recently learned.

My advice to other riders is to never stop doing what you love. The only reason that I learned tricks & have the current opportunities came from my passion of spending every chance I could riding bikes & having fun with my friends. “Erik Buell did for Harley Davidson what Carol Shelby did for Ford” said a long-time friend of mine who is quite knowledgeable in the Harley Davidson world as a shareholder. These words resonated with me. Erik Buell’s life is so rich with experiences in a career path crowned by achievements few can boast of. Erik F. Buell was born April 2, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the founder, former Chairman and Chief Technical Officer of the Buell

engineering in 1979. He then took a job at Harley-Davidson

limited production racer. The Barton was featured in the 1980

motion picture “Silver Dream Racer”. He re-engineered parts to increase reliability and saw performance gains. Buell first raced a prototype of his bike in the summer of 1982 at the AMA National on the Pocono Speedway. He clocked at a top speed of 178 mph. That’s 3 mph over my own record so far but Eric’s true top speed to date is 185 mph. I have some “operator improvements” to implement! His purchase of Barton took place in 1982 but logistical complications occurred. Eric’s inquiry with his employer to gain engineering and financial support was declined due to reliability problems with the Barton engine. Buell then quit his job at Harley-Davidson to devote more time to his racing effort. Following that The Buell Motor Company got some attention because by late 1984 the American Machinist’s Union Racing Team bought, tested and raced the first publicly sold Erik Buell’s bike, the RW750 (commonly known as ‘RW750 number 2’), and gave it glowing marks. In the Spring of 1985, AMA announced the Superbike class would supplant Formula One. This left Buell with no market for his creation.

Buell forged ahead and designed his first entry into the sportbike market, the RR1000. Using his connections at Harley-Davidson, he acquired left-over XR-1000 engines. He designed critical parts some of which became a patented engineering trademark of Buell sport bikes. The fairing design had lower aerodynamic drag than a few 21st century sportbikes.

In 1991, Buell incorporated a five-speed transmission mated to the 1203 cc engine. Buell responded to Harley by further improving an already innovative design: the RS chassis. Later that year, Buell introduced a single-seat version of the RS1200 model, dubbed the RSS1200. It won approval of the industry press. Combined production of RSS and RS models totaled 325 through 1993.

Buell designed fabricated and sold fifty RR1000 models during 1987-1988. In 1987, Devin Battley smuggled Erik Buell onto a cruise ship for the Harley-Davidson annual dealer’s meeting. They set up a table for Buell to speak with dealers; by the end of the cruise he had deposits and orders for 25 motorcycles.

In the 1990s, Buell reformed his house as the ‘Buell Motorcycle Company’ in which HarleyDavidson invested a 51% interest. HarleyDavidson bought complete control of Buell Motorcycle in 2003, and distributed all Buell motorcycles through select Harley-Davidson dealerships. Erik Buell remained responsible for the engineering and design of all Buell motorcycles.

Buell then saw the newly-developed 1203 cc Harley-Davidson Evolution engine being used in their ‘Sportster’ model line as solid base platform to further tune the performance and handling qualities of his bikes. The RR1200 model was introduced during 1988 using a modified version of this different engine design. Through 1989, 65 were produced for sale. In 1989, Buell introduced the RS1200 model, a two-seat version of the RR1200. 105 of these models were produced through 1990.

Buell led the company to create some of the most innovative, usable sport bikes under Buell Motorcycles. On October 15, 2009, amid the economic crisis and to Erik’s surprise, struggling Harley-Davidson announced that production of Buell motorcycles would cease on October 30, 2009. Buell only wishes he would have been part of the conversation. Not surprisingly, most executives involved in that decision were thanked for their services after.

In November 2009, after being dropped by Harley-Davidson, Buell launched Erik Buell Racing. The firm produced and supported race-only versions of the Buell 1125R. Unrestricted by Harley-Davidson, the company released the EBR 1190RS, the 1190RX and the 1190SX. The engines have been re-engineered with a displacement of 1190cc, with a substantial power boost to 185 hp and 102 ft-lbs. of torque. I usually don’t get into specs that much but this is worth mentioning! I thought my BMW s1000rr was badass!

During July 2013 the Wall Street Journal reported Hero MotoCorp, a maker of high-end street motorcycles bought a 49.2% stake in Erik Buell Racing LLC, for $25 million. The remaining stake was held by Erik Buell, the founding chairman and chief executive, however the company went into receivership and is owned by a liquidation firm in Michigan. Erik is no longer involved.... Now Erik is almost retired but he is having fun focusing his engineering energies on design work for the FUELL E-vehicle company. In 2019 Buell partnered with French financiers to form a new Electric Vehicle company Called “Fuell”. This new company currently offers an electric bicycle called the “Flluid” and is hoping to release an electric motorcycle called the “Fllow”. The Fllow is touted to have an urban ride range up to 150 miles, fast charge time under 30 minutes, and the acceleration of a superbike with a curb

weight of only 350 lbs. The Flluid bicycle was first released in 2019 through an Indiegogo campaign, and now is being distributed by Tucker to their dealer network. Buell’s EBR 1190RX currently holds best lap record at JenningsGP. Erik’s grin at the mention of that achievement betrays his justifiable pride. “It was the best handling bike at the time” Buell said. Father to 4 daughters and step father of 2 sons he says his children are his pride and joy above all. His advice if anyone cares to listen he says is to “cut politics down, look for talent and bring jobs back to America”. “Governments should enable choices, not force them” Buell declared. “Tesla has created more new American jobs than any other car manufacturer” he said. One of his best memories is the pride of his Buell co-workers when their bike won the AMA championship shortly before Harley announced they would cease production of Buell motorcycles. I will forever be thankful to Erik for this interview. It truly is a privilege to have spent some time together discussing life, dreams, family and all that should consume a man in this lifetime. Erik was once pronounced dead after a serious accident. His outer body experience taught him we truly are here to be kind to each other helping each other. Looking back his wish among others would be to have better navigated corporate politics.

Erick Irrizary is originally from Puerto Rico and has always been around motorcycles. His father was a member of a club called FLNY, and that heavily influenced his vision of bringing people together from different walks of life to share in the passion they enjoy. 30

Alex Gonzalez is also originally from Puerto Rico, got a job in a motorsports dealership and was hooked since the handshake after being hired on the spot. Always passionate and ready to go on the rides and adventures the motorcycle community brings.

Stephen Montero is a Brooklyn native that joined the Navy and traveled the world, and during his travels he was bit by the motorcycle bug and has been all about the community ever since. Enjoys street rides, group events, and just recently started drag racing at the track.

Where is the group located? Deltona Florida with hopes to expand nationally. When was the group established? The vision was established end of summer, early fall of 2019, and came up with the name in October of 2019. Tell us about your group. We met through group rides with other motorcycle groups and enjoyed the passion everyone shared. We set out to do something similar but with a bigger picture in mind. Most of the Hispanic groups only really ride with other Hispanics and we ride with everyone. Sport bikes only ride with sport bikes and cruisers with other cruisers. Our vision was to unite people through their passion. One of our core principals is bridging the divide. With the craziness the world presents us, we believe that we can get passed all our differences and enjoy being with people that have a different world view to make our lives better through shared experiences together. We started as a strictly motorcycle group and have even expanded to having car, jeep, and even boat events to have even more people come together and bridge an even larger divide. Whereas most of the Hispanic groups really only ride with Hispanics, our group has diversity that rivals that of multicultural cities. We keep our events family friendly, reach out to locally owned and operated businesses when we set up a Sunday Funday ride in advance, so they have the proper accommodations for us. We prefer the locally owned and operated businesses because it allows us to connect with the community and bring in money to working class people. We collaborate and join many other groups on their rides and in their events. During our bike nights we allow small businesses to come and provide their

services and allows them to gain exposure and meet more people. All in all, we want to bring different people together that otherwise wouldn’t ever cross paths and cultivate healthy relationships within the community. What does riding mean to you? Riding means passion and freedom. We sit on a hot engine with a tank of gas right in front of us and just enjoy the open road. Means community and family beyond those that are relatives. Is your group into charity and the community? As we have joined many other groups for their charities and memorial rides, we have just had the honor of teaming up personally with the Caleb’s Joy Foundation, they help families going through hard times due to a child suffering from cancer or other illnesses. What is your message to people who judge sport bike riders? Can’t blame all of us for what a few bad apples do. Much more of us are upstanding citizens in the community that do our part to help all those in need. Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. As a child, my father passed on to me the love for motorcycles. I had started competing in the Italian championships. Racing motorcycles on a professional level requires a lot of money. If you don’t have enough sponsors and financial possibilities, it’s complicated to move forward. I was always looking for a solution to train with my bike and spend as little money as possible. Unfortunately, there was no training tool in those days other than investing money and racing in the circuits. This idea came back to my mind, and I decided to invent a training system for all motorcyclists and young riders. Thus was born Moto Trainer, the only simulator in the world suitable for all motorcycles, an excellent physical and mental training tool and obviously, a lot of fun. Now everyone has the opportunity to learn how to ride the bike safely, young riders can train and prepare for their next races even from home, motorcyclists can improve their riding style and all other two-wheel enthusiasts can have fun riding a real motorcycle. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road? Creating a motorcycle simulator is really complicated. The bike is much more dynamic than the car. At the beginning, when I presented my

idea to various engineers, software houses, etc., almost everyone told me that it is impossible to realize what I had in mind. Despite all the obstacles encountered, I managed to create the first prototype of the simulator and we presented it at the EICMA fair, Milan, in 2017. I was curious to see people’s reactions. The feedback has been great! That fair made me understand that the product is liked, has a value and I can continue to improve it and make it known to the whole world. In three years, we have done an incredible R&D work to perfect the simulator. What is the result? The quality of Moto Trainer is recognized by the most important companies in the motorcycle sector. We have become Official MotoGP Simulator, recognized by the International Motorcycle Federation, the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world already use our simulators, and I can proudly say that Moto Trainer is the only moto simulator in the world, the most real and most widespread in the world! My name is Robert Ramos but everyone calls me Rocky. My heart feels 21, aging like fine wine, I’m 34. I am originally from the capital of crazy the Bronx New York. Currently living in Jacksonville, Florida land of the lost. I just picked up a 2021 Kawasaki 636 but I love anything fast. My last bike was named Bumble bae I like my bikes yellow, but I am going to keep her all black for a while and call her El Chupacabra. I have very long list of parts but I’m always very proud of my hand brake system SS-Moto parts hand brake bracket 310 mm big rotor kits connected by HEL brake lines powered by Brembo 18x19 from Sic Shop. My big brother Groovy put me on my first bike it was a two stroke RM 80. At the age of 14 it sounded and rode like a demon. My first ride it went up on me by mistake there’s no words to describe the feeling I looked back like I did it on purpose and wheelied any and everything I got my hands on since that day. A street legend named (Wink 1100) from New York and street bike freestyle stunt God Ac Farias from France were my first introduction to stunt riding. Wink was like a hood superhero with the catch phrase “Yo wheelies are garbage!” running the city on one wheelie on a stock dinosaur of a bike GSXR 1100 in and out of traffic no mods just skill and unforgettable character.

AC Farias was on the other side of street bike freestyle with a more controlled professional showmanship. Introducing freestyle to riding a wheelie it was art an elegant dance doing things on a motorcycle I didn’t know were possible back then. Motorcycles became my world hooked like a drug it became my high and I was ok with that. If riding is your world and you want to do it as long as possible make smart decisions be as safe as possible wear a helmet, the plan should always be get home safe.To be old and wise you must be young and stupid at heart. My Name is Joe I am 26 years old and presently live in Cocoa, Florida. I have been riding since the age of 10 and riding the streets and doing wheelies for the last 3yrs. I currently ride a 2018 Yamaha YZ450F and she is all stock or (OEM) Everyone knows my bike as Snow White. What got me into this scene of riding was seeing the friendships & bonds it creates and the memories to be made & never to be forgotten. Meeting people from all over the United States sometimes overseas to get together as a big family & share our passion with one another. My buddy Mrbizness said it best, “There are people who drink or do drugs to get away from their problems, we ride bikes.” People don’t realize we take a risk every day when we get on our bikes but through all the problems you might have, you find yourself on that bike and when you ride all the hate, anger, and pain you have inside goes away.
