THE AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL BIKERS’ NIGHT 20 YEARS ANNIVERSARY

It all started in 1974 when co-owners George “Jig” Warren, III and Gary “Moe” Meszaros bought a vacant automobile service station and converted it into a restaurant and bar named appropriately; “The Quaker Steak and Lube”. It served a simple menu and invited guests to come in and cook their own steak! How bout that!!! Two years later the menu was expanded to include the popular Buffalo-style chicken wing prepared with the choice of unique homemade sauces. The Lube® won its first major award in 1988 - Best Wings USA at the National Chicken-Out competition in Cleveland OH. Since, Jig and Moe passed the motorsports themed concept onto QSL Florida Limited which is the local franchise of the Clearwater Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant. As I sat there with a drink, chatting with Bill Church co-owner of QSL Florida, we reminisced about the real, the true, the original and the authentic bike nights. How it started back in the days. That is, before

everyone and their uncle started their own bike nights. When the only thing that mattered was camaraderie, motorcycles, affordable food and concerts. The original bike nights would bring in 100s and sometimes 1000s of bikes. Back in October 2003, when Bill opened QSL located at 10400 49th St N, Clearwater, FL 33762, he started bike nights. First week 50 bikes showed, second week 100 bikes showed and, weeks after it was 200+ each week. I remember in mid-year ~2005ish seeing literally 1000s of bikes. All shapes, colors and, years! There were awards for best bike, games, good and not so good bands. People had an absolute blast I assure you. Clearwater, Florida, a coastal haven bathed in sunshine and dotted with palm trees, may not be the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of the vibrant biker culture. However, tucked away in this picturesque corner of the Sunshine State, there it still is, the legendary gathering that has been drawing motorcycle enthusiasts

threat or the recent pandemic have all posed obstacles. However, the event’s enduring spirit and the unwavering support of the local biker community have kept it going strong. Bill is quick to point out Fran Haasch and Rhett Jones her husband of The Fran Haasch Law Group are an integral part and pillars of the community’s vibrant active presence. I agree! Without Rhett and Fran and their team, this community would have never thrived as it has. You can’t copy or substitute that either. In recent years, the event has also adapted to meet the evolving needs and preferences of bikers. Embracing technology and social media, Quaker Steak and Lube has leveraged online platforms to promote the event and connect with a broader audience. This digital presence has not only helped maintain interest but has also fostered a sense of belonging among bikers who may not always be able to attend in person. from near and far for decades – the Quaker Steak and Lube’s Biker Night. With its rich history and unique charm, this weekly event has become an integral part of Clearwater’s culture, celebrating the freedom of the open road and the spirit of camaraderie that defines the biker community. A rendez-vous of sort for charity events and poker-runs supporting those. Many have tried to copy and take from the idea but they will never truly be able to replicate the authentic spirit of the QSL bike night. Ever. The event started as a small meetup for motorcycle enthusiasts to showcase their prized possessions. Over time, it grew in popularity, thanks to word-of-mouth and the unique uncomplicated atmosphere that Quaker Steak and Lube provided. With its vibrant décor, featuring classic cars and motorcycles suspended from the ceiling, the restaurant itself became a testament to the love of all things motorized. Quaker Steak and Lube’s Biker Night still takes place every Wednesday evening, transforming the restaurant’s parking lot into a twowheeled wonderland. From custom choppers to vintage Harley-Davidsons and speed bikes, the parking lot becomes a symphony of engine roars and chrome gleams. It’s a sight to behold, a rolling exhibition of craftsmanship and a passion for the open road. While motorcycles are undoubtedly the stars of the show, the event is much more than just a display of mechanical prowess. It’s a social gathering where bikers from all walks of life come together to share stories, swap tips, and forge lasting friendships. The sense

of camaraderie and belonging is palpable, and it’s this sense of community that has kept Quaker Steak and Lube’s Biker Night alive and thriving for over four decades. You cant copy that. No biker night would be complete without good food and live music. Quaker Steak and Lube keeps delivering on both fronts. Attendees can indulge in the restaurant’s signature wings, a diverse menu of American classics, and, of course, an ice-cold beer. The live bands that perform on the outdoor stage keep the energy high, providing the perfect soundtrack to an evening of celebration and revelry. My name is Yhon and I am 33 years old. I was born in Cuba. I Came to the USA in 1999 and currently I live in Jacksonville, Florida. My story starts with my passion for motorcycles. I started riding when I was younger. In 2012 I went to Wyotech Automotive Trade School in Daytona to become a motorcycle mechanic. Since completing mechanic school, I started my own business Cuban Missile Powersports and have worked for a couple dealerships here in Jacksonville as lead mechanic. In 2013 I had a very bad motorcycle accident on my 2007 Yamaha R1. I broke the head of my tibia and had to get a fake knee cap. That same year after my accident I couldn’t ride my bike any longer due to my injuries, so I started to ride Jet Skis. My first ski was a 2008 Yamaha VX 1100 Dlux. The SEADOO I have now is my dream ski. I ride a 2021 SEA-DOO RXP-X 300 named Patrona. It has a JP Racing intake, Ruthless racing tune, rear exit exhaust, Wet Jet Performance valve

spring retainers and intake ribbon delete. Now 10 years on the water I can honestly say it’s my passion. I love the adrenaline and the freedom of the open water. I have fallen once jumping a wave and I broke my nose but was right back at it. Now I enjoy riding with my friends and family and my goal is to get my son into racing jet skis professionally. My advice to new riders would be to pay attention to wake zones and service and take care of your ski. Recently my wife and I went to H2oAddicts Halloween ride in Miami and had a blast. I ride 365 days out of the year. I’m on the water at least 3 times a month. You can catch me speeding on open waters, jumping waves and enjoying the weather all over Florida. Hi my name is Annie and I am 13 years old. Born and living in Trujillo Alto, PR. I don’t ride motorcycles but I have been riding ATV’s all my life. I have 2 now a Honda TRX 400 and a Yamaha Blaster. My Honda has a new paint job and graphics. I’m known on the streets as La Mynor #17. When I was younger my dad taught me to ride. I come from a family that everyone rides. It’s grown to become my passion. My first trick was learning to release my hand and now I’m trying to master my helmet touching the ground while I’m doing a wheelie. Lucky for me I have never fallen. I enjoy riding in PR but also travel for events. Recently in October of 2023 I traveled to Jacksonville Fl for a huge Rideout and I’m looking forward to going back soon. I don’t really have a dream ATV because I love them all. My goal is to be an inspiration to girls that wanna learn to ride. My mentors and top 3 riders are my brother Jaen, El Negro & Peluche. My name is Bryan Padin aka “El Anormal”. I’m 22 years old and I’m from Moca, Puerto Rico. Today I live in Tampa, Florida and I ride a 2007 Yamaha YFZ 450 ATV. I’ve been riding since I was 5 years old and it is my lifelong passion. My bike has quite a few upgrades, including the motor being fully rebuilt and the suspension setup for my height and weight. Last year was my first year of racing and I won the championship of Open Quad C, I would like to win this coming season’s Open Quad B of FTR. I would also like to win Championship of GNCC ATV 19+ C. I love competing and racing. My advice to everybody is make sure you put your mind into 16

Out of respect I just did not have it in me to ask more questions about him. Her mom was a dedicated mama and worked in an accounting firm fully supportive of all of Joanna’s aspirations. Joanna is rightfully a complex mind in constant overdrive. She is fully present on task and her mind is with you but simultaneously multitasking about other matters. She does that artfully, respectfully and masterfully. She seeks balance of perspectives. I will tell you, she does not kneel for the national anthem. She is fiscally conservative and socially more centered. Joanna supports many charities. One dear to her heart is “Thorn Ministries” of Tampa Bay ( www. thornministries.net ). Thorn Ministries which for the past 20 years has provided nourishment and shown unwavering compassion to hundreds of thousands of homeless individuals in the Tampa area. Another one is Anchorage Children’s Home (www.anchoragechildrenshome. org) a non-profit organization that serves, protects, and strengthens children, families, and communities in Panama City, Florida.

The “Coyotes,” as they are affectionately known, are not just bartenders; they are entertainers who bring the party to life. I’m Gabriel Perez, I’m 18 years old and I’m Currently living in Lehigh Acres, Florida. I was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida. I started getting into bikes as soon as I moved to 239 and bought my first bike, a 2003 Honda TRX 400EX. My dream bike was always to have a 2014 trx400x, and eventually I bought it and it is my current stunt bike.

when I was able to let go of both hands on the handlebar. It had been my dream trick to do since I first learned how to get up there. I thought it was impossible but time has taught me that nothings impossible with enough craziness and dedication, and transitioning that thought from the bikes to the real world has helped me accomplish many things and goals.

I had it fairly stock with just a 440 big bore but went back to a stock bore for reliability and removed the air lid and slapped a K&N filter with an HMF slip on.

Other than wheeling, I like to fix these machines and race them when the opportunity comes. My whole life in general is surrounded by bikes. So, if I’m not wheeling, I’m making money off of them, or doing anything else involving them. If I can give anyone a word of advice, do things to please yourself. Don’t go around trying to make others feel happy or impressed or surprised cause when they stop feeling that way, you’ll be left with nothing.

It’s now been about 3 and a half years of riding, and 2 years of wheeling. I was heavy into YouTube back then, and eventually videos of ride outs and GVO vlogs made their way into my recommended, and seeing how people could wheelie and let go of both their hands and climb up to the bars would completely blow my mind. It’s been a while now since those days, and honestly a lot of great memories have been made. Personally, my favorite one was

DOMO THE What’s up guys I’m Dominique Williams. I’m 26 I’m currently in Jacksonville Florida. Currently on a 2023 ZX 6R and she goes by Demon spawn. My bike has been tuned by Chris Hall and a lot of cosmetic upgrades. I have been writing for about seven years with, I’ve always thought motorcycles. We’re cool as a kid and one day I just woke up out of bed and decided it was time for me to get one lolol. My greatest memory 1 had while riding, was packing out the streets and a ride out and about 10 bikes, simultaneously go up for a wheelie. Outside of motorcycles, I’m a professional fighter of eight years, pro in kickboxing, pro and MMA pro in boxing.word of advice for other rider, is to always push limits, have fun ,and most importantly be safe.

GLYMPSE THE RIDE If I were asked to describe our community and its mission statement with a single phrase, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘mutual respect’. There is a sister and brotherhood that runs in our blood tying us all together with one shared passion, riding. An indescribable bond exists that cannot be captured easily with words, where respect is shared with a simple wave of two fingers in hopes that our guardian angels will guide us to our destination safely. It is a bond so strong that we feel a pull to take care of one another, regardless of if our peer is a stranger, an acquaintance or a good friend. It is this bond that makes us all family, beckoning to be there for each other in sickness or health. In the community there is a question that every one of us has asked a fellow rider. It is a simple question that might seem thoughtless to another, ‘Where are you?’ There is a tragic reality that our passion has its risks. We accept those risks every time we climb onto our seats and start our engines. A developer recognized that even

outside of our community there are dangers in the world lurking within every shadow, so they came up with a tool to help families during those moments. Tracking loved ones has become more and more prevalent with advancement in technology. A Redmond-based company formed over a decade ago, Glympse ( www.glympse. com ) has created a medium to offer live GPS tracking without infringing on data privacy. Their tool is simple. Glympse has tailored an app with features that can be customized on a case-by-case basis. Their platform generates a link one can share with their friends, loved ones or businesses to provide live tracking of their location. Setting a final destination is optional, however if one is chosen the recipient can see the destination and ETA. The route is highlighted for the viewer in real-time. On many occasions I have utilized this tool to share an overview of my ride with my loved ones. It is comforting to know that there are eyes beyond mine watching out for me. If I stop to get gas or my location remains stagnant for too long my recipients always call just to make sure I’m safe. I can recall a night seven years ago when I wished I’d known about Glympse. I owe my love for motorcycles to my father who took me for my first ride just before my 10th birthday. After his retirement and our move to Florida, he gifted me my first motorcycle, a Ninja 300. He taught me how to be safe on the road. I remember him looking me in the eyes and saying, “I don’t care how long it takes. I’ll come out here with you everyday for a year if I have to.” It’s our shared passion

My name is Melanie Almeyda, many know me as Mellz, I am 33 years old, I am from Aguadilla, PR, but I have been living in Orlando since I was 16 years old. My motorcycle is a 2015 drz 400sm, it was my mother’s gift to me in 2018. When I got my motorcycle it was complete and I gave it a change to my liking and it is not pink or violet like many women do. I made my motorcycle black, red and gold. I changed the rims to black now, lowered it fixed at the back and front, I did a suspension job, I shaved off the carbon bottles, lengthened it, and put a lot of gold and red details around the engine. Wow, so many details and changes! I have been guiding machines since I was little, I would say since I was 9 or 10 because my dad always had my brother up to date on machines and that is why all this caught my attention a lot. Seeing my dad on a motorcycle and my brother with his machine gave me that curiosity to learn until I learned on a blaster that my brother had in PR Blanco and when I moved to Orlando my brother-in-law and brother bought mountain motorcycles and

there I learned more to run motorcycles. This in itself has been my first motorcycle but the motorcycle of my dream is the CRF 450R. They have always caught my attention because my thing is to make them pretty and different but I also like the Yamaha fz09. My goals with motorcycles are to put my motorcycle the way I want, other changes because another different style is coming soon and also my other goal is to teach my daughter to race motorcycles and to be better than me in this bike life. Thank God I have had the opportunity to appear in some music videos and thanks to this bike life I have met many women with a giant and humble heart. The first time I started this fever here in Orlando was with my sister and after I met the Chinese girl who many know as Borigirl, who was the one who went everywhere with me and with whom I shared this motorcycle lifestyle the most. . She is super humble and real. Until I had my partner, what better way to heal than with your boyfriend. Nothing better than that. Between the two of us we do races and look for more changes for the bikes.

In all the years that I have been running, thank God I have only had 1 accident and, thank God, I did not break any bones, I only peeled my knees and hands and that was when I caught a very ugly hole and when my motor was fixed it started to shake for everyone. Sides until I was blown away. And even so that night I continued running motorcycle after my fall, I was crazy! I love feeling the adrenaline on a motorcycle, it is something so different that only we bikers understand. I have always been daring and without fear of anything and since I was little I saw women on motorboats and said one day it will be me, until I finally achieved it. My advice to motorcyclists is to always wear a helmet and I have seen so many ugly accidents in which many have left because they did not have a helmet and others are still here thanks to wearing one. And women, don’t forget that this is easier than driving a standard car, it’s a matter of practice, always keep in your mind, nothing is impossible and if I can do it, so can you. Insta: mellz_drz

My name is Jaen and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Puerto Rico and I live in Trujillo Alto. I have an atv a Honda TRX 450 and a motorcycle, a Honda CRF 450. The Honda TRX was my first ATV. It’s one of my favorite machines. My atvs nickname is Chimuelo. I have done various mods to my atv but none to my motorcycle.

My inspiration to start this was my uncle since he always had an atv. I have spent my whole life in the bike life scene. Since I was little, I always had a bike or an atv. I rode for years and practiced a lot. It wasn’t till I was 16 that I did my first wheelie. The first trick I learned was step and change the feet while jumping on the atv. Since then, I have mastered many tricks, but I am always looking for new ones. My dream bike and atv were the CRF 450 and TRX 450 and I have them both now. Yes, I have fallen many times. It’s part of learning. But thankfully I never had any serious injuries though just scratches.

I would love to participate in movies and travel the world to be somebody successful in Bikelife. Doing what you love is always a dream. Recently I went to a ride in Jacksonville, FL. with my sister and plan on going back in December. My top 3 riders that inspire me are @gaby400 @rod_twin and @rod_mikey I ride because it’s my passion. It frees my mind and I love the adrenaline rush. Also, I get to meet other people just like me who love to ride. In 2018 I purchased a 2017 Wrangler Jku that I named Gunner. It had a 3.5” lift and 35” tires. I fell in love with “Jeep Life” and took advantage of every opportunity I had to go off-road. Two years ago I replaced Gunner with the beast I have now … Bad Influence.

My name is Cory Blakely. I’m 36 years old and I’m from Houston, Texas but now live in Jacksonville, Florida. I have owned a Jeep since 2018. I’ve always loved Wranglers since I was a kid and I would dream about driving around without the top on, hitting the beach, trails or a mud hole!

I’ve replaced almost every part I could with multiple upgrades ranging from fenders to bumpers to chromoly, axel shafts to tie rod bar, to headlights to shocks, to drive shafts! I’m looking to get 1-ton axels, long arm suspension and a V8 swap. Yes, Bad Influence is my ultimate dream Jeep. My goal is to travel around the USA and hit all the amazing trails that are out there. I drive my Jeep for the freedom … freedom from

My first passion was skateboarding. I spent a lot of my younger years at the skate park. I remember when I was at the skatepark there was man that would come by the park every day rev his engine and next thing you knew he was doing a wheelie down the street. The more I saw him the more I wanted to learn to ride. Fast forward 7 years I bought my first bike a 2006 Yamaha R6 Raven one day when I was out riding, I decided to stop at a

local motorcycle dealer and on that particular day they were having a stunt show. When I witnessed that show is when I realized that’s exactly what I wanted to do. Since then, with a lot of hard work, dedication and a lot of falls I have had the privilege in being able to compete professionally. I have won multiple motorcycle stunt riding competitions. 1st place - King of SoCal 2016 1st place - Sport Bike Freestyle Championship 2017

On January 3rd 2020 my competing came to a halt when I broke my tibia and fibula. Once I recovered from my injuries, I knew that I wasn’t done competing and wanted to be even better and stronger than I was before. I worked out and trained hard. The following year after my injury I entered the King of SoCal stunt competition and won 2nd place it was the best feeling. I compete every year at the King of SoCal and have won 2nd Place - King of SoCal 2022 1st place - King Of Socal 2023

I have also had the opportunity to work on film sets for different movies as a stunter and featured in music videos for artists such as YG, Yellow Claw, & Jon-Z. To any new rider out there that has fallen down & is debating on quitting. Don’t give up, get back on it. Best advice I can give any rider is, ride like you’re invisible Always!! Cause 75% of the time those cars on the road don’t see you or give a damn if they clip you or cut you off.
