You are riding along in the left lane of a one-way street, with a car ahead of you on your right. As the two of you enter an intersection, the car swerves left across your path to make a turn. Strategy: Because traffic was light, the driver may have forgotten that he was traveling on a one-way street and never looked in his blind spot for you. Since there was no traffic in the oncoming lane, he felt free to make a normal left turn (without signaling), inadvertently trapping you in his path. There was no way, short of watching for the non-existent signal, to predict that this driver was going to turn left. But remembering that intersections are always situations of increased risk, you might have prepared for this by taking actions to separate yourself from the other vehicle. By riding so close (and inside the driver’s blind spot) you effectively hid yourself

The tattoo portrait series I’ve created is called THE SHOP, which is a series of 10 heavily tattooed individuals. I wanted to feature not only their tattoos but their personality as well. I shot the portraits waist up and close so they would stand out and pop. The photos were all shot in studio on white background and then cut out and composited onto a grungy brick wall to make it more fitting for the style I wanted provoke. The concept was just to shoot unique individuals with tattoos and showcase it in a series. They came from all walks of life from a stay at home mom, a chef, hair stylist, business owner etc just all passionate about getting ink. The only challenges I had was narrowing down my subjects I would include for the series. I used social media to find my individuals by asking people who were tattooed and showcased personality to volunteer for the shoot if they

were interested or if they knew someone to tag them. The response was bigger than I had imagined, so it made it difficult to narrow down my people I chose. To capture someone’s look, personality and get the shot that will pop, I tend to use inspiration images that Ill pull online to help guide their posing. Once we get shooting, Ill let the subjects just be themselves and not pose them too much and see what we can get with just shooting and being in the moment. I tether all my shoots to a computer monitor to reference the shots with the subjects so they can see what were getting. It helps make changes on the fly, and be in a collaboration with the subjects. For myself to grind and push comes naturally, I’m always wanting to push myself and see what I can come up with. I love shooting and creating, especially when its my own passion project that I’ve created and concepted. Sometimes just FLORIDARIDEORDIE.COM

creating without any guidelines, or a client can be awesome and can be more self expressive. I think the important part for me is to always find that happy balance between paid work and passion work. Also making sure to take on work that makes you love your job at the end of the day. If the job makes you say Fu*% Yeah then take it, but if you question it and are not 100% about the job you should take a pass on it. As for tattoos in American Culture, I think it stands as a way of self-expression. I feel it’s a statement to others without even have to speak any words. Many of us that are tattooed have tattoos that symbolize are beliefs, or what we stand for. I was always drawn to art work, designs. I use to drawl on my arms in high school with markers for fun, so it was just natural for me to get 124

tattooed earlier on at the age of 18 years old. The feedback on the series has been good! I only have released them on social media which has gotten love, and I have received several in person compliments on the series. I plan to submit them in future contest for photography categories. I’m happily taken, Type 1 Diabetic, heavily tattooed, ride a Harley Seventy – Two Sportster, enjoy CrossFit, hanging with my dog Chopper a Chihuahua mix, and shredding at the local skatepark on my days off from work. I typically used her as my daily. I like taking rides with groups to Clearwater. On Thursdays, I usually ride the Ybor Strip, Twisted Turtle, and/or Quaker. My Name is Heather Seiwell, I’m 31 years old, I live in Brooksville and Live to Ride. I’ve been riding for about 4 years. I’m lucky that I get to spend so much time around bikes since I work as a Saleswoman at Barneys of Brooksville. I ride a 2009 Kawasaki ZX6R. I stay mostly in Hernando/ Pasco County However my favorite place to ride a motorcycle is the Tale of The Dragon and The Cherohala Skyway. It was introduced to me by someone I loved who has since passed away in a motorcycle accident and that place will always be special to me. I like to say it is where I really learned how to ride. When I was brought up there, I had only been riding on my own for about 9 months. It was the most amazing experience ever. Riding is throttle therapy of course, which is why I like to ride. It’s kinda a funny story how I got into riding. I was always a passenger, I always loved bikes but I am 5 ft tall and I always thought I was too small and I would never be able to ride on my own. Well about 4 years ago I was on the back and a truck pulled out in front of us and caused us to Tbone the truck. I ended up with a fractured knee, severed meniscus, herniated disks throughout my spine and neck, and also a brain injury. I used my settlement check to buy my first motorcycle!! I was done being a passenger and I had seen so many other female riders that were small like myself and they inspired me to give it a shot. Turns out, I am better on a motorcycle than my own 2 feet hahaha. 3 22

Currently I have a Suzuki Naked SV650. I like to ride in Tampa metropolitan area including the Airport, North Run, Patterson, Pace RD, etc.... I like to ride because It’s my escape. It gives me a feeling of thrill and freedom. When I’m riding, it’s just the road and my bike that exist for me. Everything else just fades away.

My name is Heaven Fields, I’m 27 and work in Finance and Insurance. I’ve been riding street cycles since i was 17 years old. Currently I ride a Ducati Panigale S 1199 and a BMW S100. I like to ride Pretty much everywhere. My passion for riding started out with riding dirt bikes as a little girl. These days I enjoy riding dirt bikes in crooms and on our private land. It’s a very freeing experience. Other times I like to ride with friends or in various group rides. I also like go track racing as well. I plan on my son riding with me once he gets older. He had an electric bike and soon will move up to a gas powered.
