LUCAS HNATH’s plays include The Christians (2014 Humana Festival), Red Speedo (Studio Theatre, DC), A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney (Soho Rep), Nightnight (2013 Humana Festival), Isaac’s Eye (Ensemble Studio Theatre), Death Tax (2012 Humana Festival, Royal Court Theatre), and The Courtship of Anna Nicole Smith (Actors Theatre of Louisville). His plays are published by Dramatists Play Service. Lucas has been a resident playwright at New Dramatists since 2011 and is a proud member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre. Lucas is a winner of the 2012 Whitfield Cook Award for ISAAC’S EYE and received a 2013 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award Citation for Death Tax. He has also received commissions from the EST/ Sloan Project, Actors Theatre of Louisville, South Coast Repertory, Playwrights Horizons, New York University’s Graduate Acting Program, and the Royal Court Theatre. Lucas holds a BFA and an MFA from New York University’s Department of Dramatic Writing.

A SNAPSHOT OF A DOLL’S HOUSE

Nora Helmer is a vibrant young housewife who nonetheless suffers from a crippling dependency on her husband of eight years. He, Torvald, has always done the thinking for the both of them. In order to save Torvald from a debt, and to spare his masculine pride, Nora arranges a loan without his knowledge, and does so by forging a signature. The inevitable revelation of the crime results in an unexpected reaction from Torvald: Rather than being grateful to Nora, he is incapable of accepting the pride and self-sufficiency she demonstrated in taking care of him, and he accuses her of damaging his good name. The illusions behind their marriage are exposed, and Nora wakes to feelings of self awareness for the first time in her life. Torvald is not the man she thought she knew. They are husband and wife, yes, but they are strangers as well. And in one of the most famous, and scandalous, climaxes in all of nineteenth-century drama, Nora leaves her husband and children, determined to forge a new identity from the one she has always known. VIKI BOYLE*† (Anne Marie) is a 40-year veteran of New York and regional theatre, film, and TV. She is an ensemble member here at Florida Rep and last appeared in A Christmas Carol, Outside Mullingar, The Miracle Worker, George Washington’s Teeth, Over the River and Through the Woods, A Christmas Story, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Arsenic and Old Lace, Noises Off, and Neil Simons’ Rumors. Off-Broadway credits at the Roundabout, MCC, and American Globe theatres include her own work The Whole Truth, winner of the Samuel French Short Play Series, and Term Limit for which she won the top prizes for both acting and writing. She received two Carbonell Awards for The Little Foxes and Don’t Dress for Dinner at the former Caldwell Theatre in Boca Raton. Her movie and TV credits include The Wolf of Wall Street, The Leftovers, Person of Interest, and over 200 commercials, where her work has been recognized with the CLIO award. Besides contributing to the wonderful musical tribute A Dash of Rosemary, she and writing partner Doug Kampsen publish NYC Trivia Tours, a series of self-guided walking tours of New York City. She is overjoyed to be back at Florida Rep. RACHEL BURTTRAM*† (Nora) has been a company member since 2002, and has performed in more than 25 plays with Florida Rep. Favorite roles at the Florida Rep include Alabaster, Disgraced, Best of Enemies, Steel Magnolias, Split in Three, Outside Mullingar, Miracle on South Division Street, August: Osage County, Trying, Doubt. Other Regional Theatre credits: Actors Theatre of Louisville & the Humana New Play Festival, Riverside Theatre, Penobscot Theatre Company, The Kitchen Theatre, Hippodrome Theatre, City Equity Theatre, Barnstormers Theatre, Gloucester Stage. Rachel just finished filming an exciting new TV series based on Tom Wolfe’s novel The Right Stuff for National Geographic playing the recurring role of astronaut wife Betty Grissom. TV work includes FBI Agent Rick Cranston on Graceland (USA Network) and David Weller in the Netflix original series, Bloodline, starring Sissy Spacek. His cartoon captions have been winners for various contests including The New Yorker, Hartford Courant, Denver Post, Moment Magazine, and others. CHRIS CLAVELLI**† (Director) is an Ensemble Member and Resident Director at Florida Repertory Theatre where he has directed and performed in more than 40 productions since 2000. Florida Rep directing credits include A Fox on the Fairway, Becoming Dr. Ruth, Outside Mullingar, The House of Blue Leaves, The Cocktail Hour, One Slight Hitch, Tribes, The Glass Menagerie, and The Santaland Diaries. He has been the recipient of both the Barrymore Award (Philadelphia) and the South Florida Carbonell for best actor and was honored with an Alan Schneider Directing Award nomination through Theatre Communications Group. He was a founding member and co-artistic

director of the Neighborhood Theatre for Kids in Brooklyn. Representative theatres: Virginia Stage Company, The Depot Theatre, Chenango River Theatre, Two River Theatre, Dog Days Theatre, Off Square Theatre, The Riverside in Vero Beach, and Greenbrier Valley Theatre. His one-man play, A Little More Than You Wanted to Spend, ran at The Drilling Company in New York City. He serves on the faculty of The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, CAP 21/Molloy College, and FGCU.

Smith Costume Scholarship from SETC’s Graduate Scholarships in 2014. Jacquelyn enjoys spending her off-time reading, writing, playing board games, and going on adventures. Her regional theatre credits include two seasons with Trinity Shakespeare Festival in Fort Worth, Texas where she worked as Assistant Stage Manager on Measure for Measure, Richard III and Twelfth Night. Rachel

holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from University of Dallas where she studied stage management. Rachel worked as Production Stage Manager for many shows throughout college, but her favorite University Theatre credits include The Cherry Orchard and The Skin of Our Teeth.
