Welcome to Fleurvana Be afraid and do it anyway! I can still remember those terrifying fist steps walking out onto the AIFD Stage for the first time in 2016. What many people didn't realize, is it wasn't just my first time presenting for Symposium, it was my first time presenting on stage ever. (more about this in my book) Being the reflective introvert that I am, public speaking and being seen didn't exactly come naturally for me. However, I knew if I wanted to expand my energy to be a leader in the industry, I had to take inspired action to work through my fears. We always think there will be a magical day where we will "be ready" and all of our fears are magically conquered. The reality is, the sweet taste of success is on the other side of facing our fears. Bravery is not the absence of fear. Bravery is showing up even when you're still afraid. Be Bold, Be Brave & Above all, Be YOU!

Greetings! This is Laurie Zelinski, Astrologist and Wellbeing Mentor coming to you with the June edition of the Creative’s Connection to the Cosmos. Today I want to briefly cover a couple of things that are going to be coming up the last part of June and going into July. First, we have the Summer Solstice. The Summer Solstice is taking place on June 21st and this is a time that marks the arrival of summer season in the Northern Hemisphere, and the shift from a softer energy to a stronger, more fiery, vital energy. You may feel very energized, full of creativity and ideas during the Solstice.
And indeed, this is a great time to take action to start bringing some of those creative projects that may have been lying dormant during the winter months or just beginning to bud in the spring months, to life Performing a ritual or setting an intention using natural materials such as crystals or objects that you find in nature could be very helpful to usher in this powerful influx of solar energy. If you are using crystals my rule of thumb is just to use what speaks to you, or what you have on hand. Check in with your intuition! You may find yourself drawn to yellow and orange colors, or maybe even green stones like malachite, jasper or jade, as green is the color of your vitality center, or the heart chakra, also known in Sanskrit as the Anahata Chakra.
When I say this is an auspicious time to be creative and begin new projects, I'm really talking about the fact that in addition to the powerful solstice energy, this is also the time that we begin Cancer season, which is June 21st to July 22nd. Cancer is a cardinal water sign, but what does that mean? All the signs in the astrological wheel have a modality, and there are 3: Cardinal Fixed and Mutable.Each one has its own characteristics and purpose. Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn are the signs that initiate - their job is to get things going. Then elementally speaking Cancer is a water sign so that's where the intuition and the creativity of water - the flow of ideas and the added energy of taking action comes in to play. One last one last thing I want to talk about before I leave you with is the New Moon in Cancer that is happening on June 28th at 9:52 PM central time at 7 degrees and 23 minutes of Cancer.
This is going to be an especially intuitive and powerful New Moon and an auspicious time to get your creative juices flowing. Not only is the sun in the sign of Cancer which we have talked about, but the Moon is also in Cancer, the sign of her rulership. We’ll talk about why that is important in a moment. New Moons are when the sun and the moon are conjunct or in the exact same place in the sky. Because these two luminaries are together the Moon cannot reflect the Sun’s light, so the sky is very dark. I like to think of this as a time to plant. As the Moon’s light grows, you will see the manifestation of what you planted during the New Moon come to light. When a planet is in the sign of their rulership (in other words the Moon rules the sign of Cancer), it is a powerful placement for that planet, and a place where that planet can showcase all its gifts. In the case of the Moon, these gifts include sensitivity, creativity, intuition, and empathy.
Hopefully this helps you to understand and work with the energies of the Summer Solstice, Cancer Season, and the upcoming New Moon in Cancer. Until next time keep reaching for the stars! ~ Laurie
