In fact, a 2018 Nielsen survey revealed that 81 percent of global consumers feel strongly that companies should help improve the environment. There has been extreme heat in the Northern Hemisphere this summer, which has led to new high-temperature records and concerns about the impact on the population and the environment. A survey by Nielsen in 2018 found that 81% of global consumers feel that companies should work to improve the environment. Some ways for businesses to be more environmentally responsible include reducing waste by using reusable materials and being energy efficient, diverting more waste through proper recycling, and specialized recycling programs such as e-waste recycling, bulb and battery recycling, and organics recycling. Businesses can also offset their carbon emissions by purchasing carbon credits and supporting sustainability projects.
