Since 2019, the Professional Facility Management Institute (ProFMI) and Building Operating Management (BOM) magazine have conducted the survey to determine the need for facility management training and credentials from both the management and staff points of view. A survey conducted by the Professional Facility Management Institute and Building Operating Management magazine has found that the three main factors that motivate facility management (FM) professionals are compensation and benefits, training and development opportunities, and internal advancement. The survey also revealed that 74% of FM employers believe that training and credentials result in better job performance, and 66% of FM managers and staff have left or considered leaving their job in the past year. These findings suggest that in order to attract and retain top FM talent, employers should focus on offering competitive compensation and benefits packages, as well as providing opportunities for training and development and career advancement.
