Dear Members, Although it has been a great summer at the Club, I can’t help but be excited about the change of seasons and the cooler temps heading our way. September usually delivers great golf weather and, with the greens aeration already behind us, we’re sure to enjoy perfect golf conditions, too.

We’ll cap off the summer with a fun-filled Labor Day Weekend including our annual Grog Party on Sunday, September 1st. This family friendly event offers something for everyone — a great menu, live music, a bounce house for the kids and FIREWORKS to send summer off with a bang.

Dear Members, Cooler temperatures are just around the corner, football season is here, the golf course is in amazing shape … it must mean it is fall at The Deuce! It is difficult to believe it is already September and we are winding down the 2019 golfing season. Even though we are approaching the end of our season, there are still plenty of great events remaining. In September we’ll host the Club Championship and Couples Night Golf. Mark your calendar for October 4th and 5th for the Watson Cup, a fun event between The Deuce, The National and The Country Club at Loch Lloyd. Last year Loch Lloyd took home the win; let’s get that trophy back at The Deuce! Complete details for all these events may be found on the following pages. We’d like to congratulate the winning families from our August 18th Family Golf Tournament: 1st Place went to Team Arnett; Team Zick took 2nd Place; Michael Good won “Closest to the Pin” at #4; and Carson Bjorn won “Closest to the Pin” at #6. Dear Members, First off, I am very happy to be here and excited to oversee the daily maintenance and continued improvements of The Deuce Golf Club! Aerification is complete and went very smoothly. This important process will improve root health and alleviate compaction as we head into the fall months. We will be overseeding areas in the rough this month. These are typically high-traffic areas and turf that struggled and thinned out during the heat of the summer. We are also in the process of mowing the native areas. Once they are mowed, we plan to apply a pre-emergent in the late fall to help control some of the weed issues for next season.
Our team will be working on a few capital projects that are scheduled to be completed this fall. These projects include installing a curb on the cart path for #14 fairway to control run-off and erosion into the fairway; creek restoration on #14 and #15 to improve water flow; and adding some bunkers to hole #16. I look forward to meeting all of you in the near future. I’ve included a few drone shots in this issue (one on the cover) so you may see your beautiful course from a bird’s eye view! There will be no “pay-as-you-go” rate. Your account will be charged prior to start of session and no refunds will be made. You must cancel a private lesson 24-hours in advance or your account will be charged. Minimum of six participants are needed for an event to be held. There will be a $10 fee for late registration to events and clinics. Times and days may be subject to change. If there are less than three participants in a clinic, it will be cancelled or re-scheduled. Rain outs may be scheduled during weekends.
