THINK WILLS ARE JUST FOR THE ELDERLY? THINK AGAIN.

It’s a common misconception that Wills are only necessary later in life – but that belief could leave modern families exposed and unprotected. In reality, Wills are a vital safeguard for anyone who wants to ensure their assets, loved ones, and wishes are taken care of – regardless of age or wealth. This article from Hertfordshire law firm Debenhams Ottaway sets out to challenge outdated thinking and show why creating a Will is one of the smartest, most empowering decisions you can make today.

Why everyone should have an up to date Will Wills are needed to ensure your assets and estate are passed on to your loved ones, in the way you wish for them to be divided.

Without a Will, your belongings are split according to intestacy laws, which pay no regard to unmarried partners, stepchildren, distant relatives or friends. Intestacy laws are outdated, and often not reflective of modern family structures. For individuals within a blended family, a Will is the only way to guarantee no loved ones are left out or overlooked when it comes to inheriting the assets you’ve spent a lifetime working for.

How can a Will safeguard my family’s future? Wills and trusts are useful tools for helping to protect your assets against things such as the rising costs of care fees. It’s also a beneficial way of

getting your finances in order, understanding the totality of what you own and protecting against inheritance tax.

A Will, when properly maintained and updated, can also prevent the need for any contests to a Will. After all, how can you expect another family member to interpret what you intended to happen with your estate, if you’re unable to make these decisions yourself?

It can be a great relief to your family if plans have been made well before your passing, as it will save them from having to face any difficult financial decisions whilst working through their grief.

How often should a Will be updated?

It’s best to review your Will annually – to check if it’s still in standing with your current lifestyle, covers all your assets and reflects your present family structure. A Will also needs to be updated any time your circumstances change, for example, if a new child is welcomed into your family, you get married, file for divorce or purchase a new property or business.

Making any such amends to your Will is a simple matter when working with a reliable and trusted legal specialist, especially one that you’ve known for years, as is often the case with many of our clients. Reviewing a Will is also more straightforward and quicker than you may think.

Is it difficult to make a Will?

Not at all – with the right legal advice from a reliable Wills, trusts and probate solicitor, it’s a surprisingly simple process and one that can provide great relief and security. Lots of individuals can be put off writing a Will fearing it’s an incredibly complicated and unsavoury topic to consider. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When meeting with clients for the first time, our only goal is to make their lives easier. We do this by welcoming them as friends and putting time and effort into getting to understand every facet of their lives so we can provide bespoke, flexible and simple, yet effective, solutions. Every step of the process is clearly outlined, making it easy for clients to follow and feel in control and without

judgment.

Considering making a Will?

No matter if you’re a homeowner or a renter, have plenty of savings in the bank or barely any at all, or are in your early 20s or approaching your late 60s, everyone has things and people that matter, which is why you need a Will, to ensure they’re protected.

The Wills, trusts and probate team at Debenhams Ottaway specialises in advising a variety of private and high net-worth clients on the writing and updating of their Wills and safeguarding of their assets.

When coming to see us, you’ll meet with a solicitor that we’ve taken the time to personally match you with, so a bond of trust can be formed that will last throughout your lifetime. You can meet us at our HQ in the heart of St Albans, our Radlett office or at our London office space if that’s more convenient for you.

Many of our clients tell us they’re pleasantly surprised by how warm and approachable their solicitors are – often quite different from what they expected when seeking legal advice. From the very first conversation, they realise we’re people too, with shared values and priorities. That human connection is at the heart of what makes us different. Like you, we have families we care deeply about, which gives us a genuine understanding of what matters most. We’re committed to helping you protect your family’s future with clarity, confidence, and the highest standard of legal advice.

If you would like to write or review your Will, please contact Barry Griffin or visit debenhamsottaway.co.uk to find out more.

ST ALBANS INDEPENDENTS LAUNCH THEIR 4HRS SHOP & PARK SCHEME

In readiness for the Christmas shopping season, St Albans’ Independent businesses are set to launch a new Shop & Park scheme that gives back to customers when they park for a minimum of four hours in the city centre. All customers have to do is show evidence of their parking ticket and participating businesses will offer a discount at the till.

The Shop & Park idea is seen as ideal for the pre-Christmas period offering both an incentive to shop in St Albans and a thank you for continued support of local businesses.

Each participating business will display a Shop & Park sticker or poster to indicate they offer a discount. There is no one size fits all approach to the discounts. Each business will decide their own level of discount per the amount of spend and display their offer in their premises.

The common factor is that customers must evidence they are parked for a minimum of four hours. Businesses intend the discount will help towards their customer’s parking.

Four business representatives are headingup the scheme on behalf of the Independent business community. Vikas Narula owner of Tikka Nation and spokesperson said, “This scheme is

powered by local businesses. We want to give our customers a very clear message that we value them. We recognise that times are difficult financially and with the festive season fast approaching, our message is that customers are welcome in St Albans and we have much to offer. We hope this idea proves mutually beneficial to everyone.”

The scheme started on Tuesday 30 September 2025 and will run to Saturday 31 January 2026. The scheme will then be reviewed and businesses will decide to extend, alter, or not, depending on feedback from business peers and customers.

St Albans City Centre BID is supporting the businesses deliver their new scheme. Vivien Cannon, BID Manager said, “BID’s role here is to help our local businesses. Our support is given by promoting the scheme on their behalf, helping to get the scheme launched and its ongoing promotion. St Albans customers are incredibly fortunate to have such a proactive business community.”

ST ALBANS CITY CENTRE BID:

BID stands for Business Improvement District which is business led and business funded and formed to improve a defined area. BID works with local businesses and sometimes statutory partners and residents also located within the area to create a vibrant, thriving, sustainable and resilient St Albans city centre by creating and investing in projects and initiatives that really deliver value back to the BID area, benefiting those who live, work and play here whilst promoting St Albans as a premier destination and in doing so driving a prosperous local economy.

CLARIDGE’S collaborates with distinguished British jeweller Annoushka

For the first time in its notable history, Claridge’s the legendary Mayfair hotel, has unveiled an exclusive collection of 18ct gold charms inspired by some of the most cherished and beloved signature symbols from the hotel.

Designed by renowned British jewellery designer, and longstanding friend of the hotel, Annoushka Ducas MBE, the set of seven charms are the perfect partnership. As part of Annoushka’s celebrated Life in Charms series, each piece has been handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold, adorned with diamonds, mother of pearl and precious gemstones, perfectly capturing Claridge’s heritage and timeless elegance; and as with all Annoushka’s charms each piece cleverly blends a playful element into its design.

The charms reflect some of the hotels most distinctive and evocative symbols, from the famous

Art Deco revolving doors created to resemble a jousting tent, and the Rocking Zebra that sits in the lobby with its distinctive Claridge’s livery, to the famous Bellboy Teddy Bear, and the historic Claridge’s Crest created in 1898 where each element is symbolic to the hotel.

Claridge’s Archivist Kate Hudson said “We love the idea of encapsulating Claridge’s history in such an exquisite piece of jewellery. Each charm symbolises a significant moment in our history - from the timeless teddy bear to the pearl suitcase with Claridge’s luggage tag detail, and the champagne glass that epitomises the sense of celebration that is so synonymous with life at the hotel. The Claridge’s crest is etched into our walls as well as appearing on our cakes, reflecting the English tradition of afternoon tea that has been part of Claridge’s story for more than a century.”

Annoushka Ducas said “For me this is a dream collaboration, Claridge’s is personal: my grandmother used to bring me here for tea, and years later, when I inherited a fish business at 23, I got to see Claridge’s from a very different angle - through the tradesmen’s entrance - it was not as glamorous, but it gave me an appreciation for the attention to detail that make Claridge’s so unique. I am delighted to be able to celebrate Claridge’s through Life in Charms.”

The charms can be bought individually or as a complete set encased in their own Claridge’s book box and handmade scrap book representing each charm.

For more information and to purchase, please visit Claridge’s or the online shop here: shop.claridges.co.uk

LOCAL BARNS RESTORED TO GLORY AS RUSTIC BAR, FOURTEEN BEER TAPS AND VINTAGE BUS FEATURE

The Piggeries Taproom and Courtyard has opened at Tring Brewery, sporting rustic barns and a double-decker bus, Olive, where punters can raise glasses at top-deck.

The Piggeries Taproom and Courtyard is product of the brewery’s efforts to restore a rustic barn-space on the farm, featuring reclaimed pub furniture, vintage signs and mirrors, and newly laid Welsh-slate flooring.

Outside the barn sits Olive, a 1980s doubledecker bus that has been retrofitted to serve beer, cider, wine and a full backbar of spirits. Tring Brewery invites drinkers to ‘hop on’, as further seating is found on Olive’s top-deck - offering views of Dunsley Farm and beyond.

Experiential drinking is just one highlight of The Piggeries, as bar manager Claudia Phillips explains:

“We’re thrilled to offer visitors the ‘wow’ factor with Olive the bus and the now-restored barn space. But that’s just the beginning. As Tring Brewery’s official tap, we’re pouring fourteen fresh beers year-round. There are plans for small-batch ales to featured too - even more beer to choose from, many exclusive to The Piggeries.

Olive is a vintage double-decker bus, originally manufactured by Bristol Commercial Vehicles in the 1980s.

Claudia continues: While the team are proud of our drinks range, our eye for quality extends to gourmet snacks and street food too. We’re happy to be supporting local with our offer of gourmet

runny-yolk scotch eggs from Hertfordshire outfit A Good Egg Co, with crisps, nuts and scratching from Chesham-based producers, Salty Dog.

Though we’ve been open less than a month, we’ve already hosted a variety of street food vendors here at the bar. The vendors are a popular offer, and we intend to make ‘Street Food Saturdays’ a staple here at The Piggeries.”

Andrew Jackson, Managing Director at Tring Brewery comments: “We are so happy with the restoration of the barns and courtyard here on Dunsley Farm. This mark a new chapter for Tring Brewery, now serving punters brewery-fresh beer direct from the tanks. A first in our thirty-twoyears as a local brewer.”

THE DETAILS

The Piggeries is open Thursday (17:00-21:00), Friday (12:00-21:00) and Saturday (12:00-21:00) weekly, welcoming families and well-behaved dogs. The Piggeries Taproom and Courtyard can be found at Dunsley Farm, London Road, Tring, HP23 6HA, with on-site parking available.

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL OF THE YEAR 2025

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make.

At Haberdashers’ Elstree Schools, students benefit from an exceptional education that blends the best of single-sex learning with the benefits of a co-educational environment.

Set on a stunning 100-acre campus in Elstree, Hertfordshire, Habs Boys and Habs Girls offer an inspiring education for students aged four to 18, encouraging intellectual ambition, strong character, and a commitment to make a profound impact in the world.

This year, Habs has achieved an incredible double recognition: winning both the award for Outstanding Educational Partnerships and the overall top accolade of Independent School of the Year 2025. The judging panel praised the school for staying true to its vision, combining academic excellence with the ambition to make a meaningful difference in the world.

With a mission to be at the forefront of education, the schools offer a dynamic and forward-thinking curriculum designed to equip students with independence, resilience, and an open mind. Innovation is embedded throughout school life, with the Director of Innovation driving initiatives that prepare students for an evolving digital landscape.

At the heart of Habs Elstree’s success is a clearly defined purpose: to empower young people to make a real difference. Their Partnerships Programme is a pioneering initiative with six

local state schools aimed at building educational opportunities for communities with average or above-average levels of disadvantage. Each week, Habs delivers over 52 hours of curriculum support and enrichment to almost 2,000 students, involving 500 Habs pupils and 56 staff.

As well as fostering the leadership skills that are central to being a Habs student, the programme improved attendance among disadvantaged pupils by 10.1% – not just for those in the programme, but at school overall – that’s the equivalent to a full extra day of school every two weeks.

While academic excellence remains a hallmark of a Habs education, a comprehensive pastoral care programme nurtures students’ emotional, social, and spiritual development. An outstanding range of co-curricular activities allows students to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom.

With world-class facilities, ongoing campus investment, and a strong commitment to social responsibility, Habs continues to evolve, empowering students to make a profound impact in the world and exemplifying the very best of independent education today.

Discover more at habselstree.org.uk.

“This year’s Independent School of the Year has demonstrated its resilience in staying true to its vision, rather than swerving the challenges of the moment…It represents the very best qualities of the independent sector — a voice that helps the wider world to understand the powerful and positive impact of this sector.”

PRIVATELY EDUCATED PEOPLE DOMINATE TOP BRITISH JOBS

The study, by the Sutton Trust education charity, shows that virtually every key profession is dominated by privately educated pupils grabbing the senior management/director positions

Their grip on power is most noticeable in the judiciary, where 74 per cent of leading judges (those in the High Court or Court of Appeal) were privately educated.

Figures in the report also show that one in three MPs (32 per cent) was privately educated – as were half the members of the Conservative Cabinet. Even in Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet, 13 per cent of members went to private school. Nationally, the figure is just 7 per cent.

The report, carried out by Dr Philip Kirby, goes on to show that 71 per cent of senior Army officers – two-star generals and above – went to private schools. Only 12 per cent attended comprehensives.

“The higher echelons of journalism are also dominated by the private sector, with 51 per cent educated in independent schools”

In medicine, 61 per cent of doctors were privately educated while 22 per cent went to selective state grammar schools and just 16 per cent to comprehensives. The list goes on – 48 per cent of civil servants were educated privately, 29 per cent went to selective grammar schools and 23 per cent to comprehensives.

The higher echelons of journalism are also dominated by the private sector, with 51 per cent educated in independent schools. And of those chief executives of FTSE 100 companies who were educated in the UK, 34 per cent were privately educated.

Nearly half the top actors – 42 per cent of Bafta Award winners – went to private schools, fuelling criticism that the profession is becoming more elitist.

“Our research shows that your chances of reaching the top in so many areas of British life are so much better if you went to an independent school,” said Sir Peter Lampl, the chairman of the Sutton Trust. “As well as academic achievement, an independent education tends to develop the essential skills such as confidence, articulacy and teamwork, which are vital to career success.

BBENTLEY MOTORS AND STEINWAY & SONS

A symphony of craftsmanship

entley Motors and Steinway & Sons have announced a unique collaboration that brings together motoring and music in a celebration of craftsmanship, design, and innovation at the very highest level. Revealed at an exclusive event in Hamburg, a special Bentley Flying Spur Speed and a striking new limited-edition line of Steinway grand pianos, are the culmination of a partnership between these two world-famous brands.

Uniting two leading names in the world of luxury, Bentley partners with pioneering piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons to showcase a long and shared tradition of excellence in craftsmanship, precision, individuality, and timeless design.

Bentley’s Flying Spur Speed sedan – powered by its Ultra Performance Hybrid V8 - is finished in Arctic White with a Piano Black veneer interior, a lyrical design pairing that mirrors Steinway’s striking new Ultra Black and Ultra White limited edition grand pianos. The collaboration is a celebration of monochrome – a palette favoured by customers of both brands – and a reminder

that in the world of luxury, less is more.

As contemporary interpretations of Steinway’s legendary grand pianos, each limited-edition series consists of just 18 Model B Concert Grands and 8 Model D Concert Grands. Produced entirely in Hamburg, these rare editions embody Steinway’s dedication to precision, innovation, and design with a contemporary edge, appealing to both musicians and collectors who value exceptional artistry.

The collaboration between Bentley and Steinway extends beyond design, with both brands sharing expertise in woodworking and veneering, following recent visits to one another’s factories. This exchange of knowledge highlights how each applies technology and craftsmanship to create pieces designed to last for generations – whether in the concert hall or on the open road.

Following the reveal, the black and white trio –the Bentley Flying Spur Speed and two Ultra Black and Ultra White Steinway grand pianos - will tour Europe for a series of concerts for the brand’s shared customers.

Luxury downsizing – it’s more about lifestyle

Moving to a smaller home doesn’t have to be about what you may be giving up, it may actually mean a truly luxurious lifestyle. The real luxury of downsizing lies in the freedom it offers; freedom to focus on what really matters to you. In fact, decluttering can also bring a sense of clarity and control

The Denton, part of the Elysian Residences luxury retirement collection, exemplifies this approach, recognising that there’s isn’t a stereotypical older person or a ‘one size fits all’. This is why they’ve created a unique, beautifully crafted residence in Berkhamsted, inspired by the architecture of the local area, with well-designed spaces that suit whatever your lifestyle. With a maintenance team responsible for the building and grounds you can devote your time to the life you want without the demands of upkeep.

There is a restaurant and bar for you to enjoy, using seasonal dishes and ingredients from local suppliers, along with wellness centre including a gym and many fitness classes and activities you can experience on your own terms. The beautifully landscaped central, sunken courtyard provides a social hub to meet with friends or family, or simply for relaxing. Their luxurious apartments are distinct, spacious and light filled with private terrace, panoramic views over the Chilterns and

plenty of space and freedom to decorate in your own style. The Denton is a modern sanctuary, rooted in the life of its thriving local community. The point here is for you to create the lifestyle you want. In this context luxury is not measured by the size of your home but by the freedom to choose how you spend your time.

For more information on The Denton, call 01442 946261 or visit elysianresidences.com.

Founded by a team of highly experienced medics with extensive backgrounds in emergency medicine, the centre - the only one of its kind to treat both adults and children, delivers rapid, walk-in care seven days a week with consultations at just £99.

Patients can be treated for a wide range of conditions including minor injuries, respiratory issues, infections, and wound care, while also benefiting from imaging, blood tests, diagnostics, routine health checks, and urgent prescriptions. The centre’s opening complements the services already available at Chase Lodge Hospital, including a newly launched Day Surgery Unit for consultant-led, private surgical procedures.

With London’s A&E departments stretched to breaking point, urgent care services have never been more needed. Overcrowding, staffing shortages, and record patient numbers mean that only a fraction of patients are seen within the four-hour target, and many face waits exceeding 12 hours. These challenges underscore the urgent need for innovative, high-quality, and affordable urgent care solutions.

The London Urgent Care Centre meets this need by offering immediate walk-in assessment, with patients triaged within 20 minutes by senior emergency medicine doctors. On-site diagnostics,

including blood tests, MRI, X-Ray, and ultrasound imaging, deliver results within the hour. More serious cases are referred as needed, while those requiring specialist care can access in-house consultants and operating theatres for day patient procedures. Continuity of care is ensured through close collaboration with GPs and consultants at Chase Lodge Hospital, providing patients with a clinical pathway.

In contrast to the hectic atmosphere of traditional A&Es, the London Urgent Care Centre offers a welcoming, patient-focused environment, from inviting reception and waiting areas to stateof-the-art treatment rooms, a bright conservatory café, and a tranquil garden designed to create a calmer, less stressful experience.

Dr Raeen Farrokhnik, Co-Founder of London Urgent Care Centre, explained:

“With NHS emergency departments, particularly in London, under immense pressure and patients facing long waits, the need for private, affordable urgent care has never been greater. At just £99 per consultation, we provide rapid, expert treatment in a calm, patient-focused environment without the delays and stress of traditional A&E.

The London Urgent Care Centre is proud to deliver a new standard of accessible, high-quality healthcare for communities across London and South Hertfordshire.”

INTRODUCING CIRC-HIIT

CIRC-HIIT began in 2022, when my business partner Zak and I started running our own style of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions in St Albans. We gradually built a loyal, supportive community of people who loved training hard but wanted something more personal and consistent than the usual gym class experience.

Zak and I both come from competitive and performance-based backgrounds. Zak is a former national-level gymnast, and I myself a fitness coach and finalist in Season 3 of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, Together, we’ve blended those experiences to create sessions that are not just about fitness, but about mental toughness, community and shared challenge.

After a couple of years moving between venues, we decided it was time to build something permanent. Earlier this year, we converted an empty 185 m² commercial unit in St Albans into our purpose-built home — a space we call The Arena. It’s designed for our signature 60-minute CIRC-HIIT sessions but also open for other local fitness and wellbeing entrepreneurs to hire and

grow their own projects. The address is Unit 4, Verulam Industrial Est, 224 London Rd, St Albans, AL1 1JB

At its core, CIRC-HIIT is about connection — building strength, confidence and community in equal measure. We pride ourselves on being local, independent and inclusive, offering high-energy, coach-led training that welcomes all abilities. You can find more about us, our story, and sessions (inc free first session) at circ-hiit.uk and follow our social media: @circ_hiit

Feel Calmer, Stronger, and More Energised This Winter with the Human Regenerator at Regenify Health

Winter can take its toll: less daylight, colder temperatures, and a faster pace can leave you tired, stiff, and short on motivation. At Regenify Health in Harpenden and Berkhamsted, founders Helen and Richie understand how easily energy can dip at this time of year. That’s why they’re passionate about helping clients restore balance, clarity, and vitality from within.

The Human Regenerator is an advanced, non-invasive, wellness device that uses Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) technology to deliver electrons and anions, tiny, naturally charged particles that help the body rebalance at a cellular level. The science is complex, but the experience is simple: you relax, switch off, lay down and let your body do the work.

After a first session, many people feel deeply relaxed, clearer in mind, and pleasantly reenergised. With cumulative sessions, these benefits

often build, steadier energy, better sleep, easier movement, and less day-to-day discomfort. Clients frequently describe a calmer mood and an increased sense of resilience that helps them handle winter’s demands with more ease.

By helping to reduce oxidative stress and support the body’s natural processes, the Human Regenerator may play a role in promoting vitality, recovery, and immune resilience through the colder months. It offers a quiet, restorative way to give your system the nudge it needs when sunlight is scarce and stress runs high.

Helen and Richie welcome anyone curious to learn more. They’re always happy to chat, answer questions, and help you decide in your own time.

To learn more or book, visit regenifyhealth.co.uk, email regenifyhealth@gmail.com, or follow @regenifyhealth on Instagram. Gift vouchers are available, and introductory offers run throughout the winter using code REGEN120.

Cutting-edge robotic prostate treatment at Pinehill Hospital

As men age, their prostate tends to increase in size. This can put pressure on the urethra and affect urine flow. This enlargement of the prostate is termed as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

BPH occurs when noncancerous cells of the prostate divide to make more cells.

Prostate enlargement is often a natural aging process and cannot be completely prevented. However, several lifestyle changes may help reduce the severity of BPH symptoms, including regular check-ups to determine any prostate issues early, physical activity, healthy diet, reducing or avoiding alcohol and caffeine.

While BPH is not associated with the development of cancer, the two often go together. Distinguishing between them is an important part of the diagnosis process. BPH can also cause sexual issues, and medications normally prescribed to treat BPH have side effects of erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction.

Choosing a treatment option can be overwhelming, as it often forces men to compromise in some way. This could mean not responding well to medication, getting limited

relief, having a long recovery time, or even having issues with sexual function. Historically, patients have been lacking a reliable solution without compromising safety and efficacy. 60% of men do not tend to adhere to BPH medication in the long run*.

Pinehill Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, and based in Hitchin, is here to help and offers Aquablation Therapy, a new pioneering robotic prostate treatment, for men suffering from BPH.

What is Aquablation therapy?

Aquablation therapy is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment for BPH that uses imaging, robotics, and a heat-free waterjet to provide longlasting relief with low rates of complications.

What results can I expect from Aquablation therapy?

Clinical studies have shown that Aquablation therapy offers significant symptom relief and low rates of irreversible complications, across prostates of all sizes and shapes. It offers a number of benefits including improved urine flow and in comparison to other treatments, there is an increased likelihood patients will preserve sexual function and continence**.

The Introvert Chair

A new design collaboration between Moooi and artist Robbie Williams

Introducing the Introvert Chair, a new design collaboration between Moooi and artist Robbie Williams – global superstar, expressive artist and self-proclaimed master of mixed feelings.

Inspired by Robbie’s own inner ups and downs, this chair is a soft place to land when the world gets a bit too... world-y. It’s cocooned, sculptural, womb-like (his words) and upholstered in a signature fabric that feels like kindness with texture.

The result? A seat that’s both a design object and an emotional escape space. Comes with pillows. Doesn’t come with social expectations.

AN EMBRACE FOR THE QUIET ONES

The Introvert Chair is a sculptural sanctuary that’s curved to cocoon and padded to please. Designed by singer-songwriter and cultural icon Robbie Williams, the chair captures the feeling of slipping away into your own little world. Whether you’re reflecting, reading or people-watching without being watched, the Introvert Chair offers a comforting pause from the noise.

A NEW SIDE TO ROBBIE WILLIAMS

Known for his extroverted stage presence and legendary music career, Robbie Williams surprises the world with a piece that celebrates stillness and solitude. Created in close collaboration with Moooi, the chair is an authentic expression of his own inner world that’s designed not for the spotlight, but rather for stepping out of it.

WRAPPED IN A HUG

The chair’s softly sculpted form and generously padded frame feel like being wrapped in a hug. Its tactile, woolly signature fabric makes you feel warm and comfortable while the matching pillows invite you to adjust and nest in your own way. With its enveloping curves and gentle silhouette, the chair makes a quiet statement in any interior.

A MOOD, NOT JUST A CHAIR

More than just a seat, the Introvert Chair is a mood. One that values introspection, boundaries and emotional wellbeing. It invites you to take up space without performing. To turn inward. To be alone, but never lonely.

COLLABORATION WITH MOOOI

The collaboration between Moooi and Robbie Williams reflects a shared love for the unexpected. Born from an artistic partnership grounded in vulnerability, humour and design intuition, the Introvert Chair is an open-hearted invitation to slow down. The result? A chair that turns heads without requiring eye contact.

SEE IT FOR YOURSELF

We’re proud to be one of a select few UK partners chosen to present The Introvert Chair by Robbie Williams — a bold Moooi collaboration that turns introspection into an art form. On display now at our Greater London showroom, the full set includes the chair, three Comfort Cushions and The Security Blanket featuring Robbie’s exclusive artwork. A tactile expression of comfort and creativity, it’s already sparking conversation across the design world. chaplins.co.uk

Homeowners looking to add warmth to the home this winter should step away from the central heating thermostat and instead consider revamping their interior schemes, says eco paint brand Victory Colours.

And founder Victoria Yardley says choosing cosy colours can bring a warm feeling into any room.

The family-run business, which specialises in its own range of environmentally friendly paints, also stocks a range of wallpapers from independent design house Ohpopsi.

Victoria Yardley, Founder of Victory Colours, said: “Ohpopsi are renowned for their characterful designs in a range of bold hues. Get the colour and pattern just right, and it will have a cocooning impact on the space, which is ideal as temperatures dip.”

According to Victoria, the key to creating a cosy room is to choose a wallpaper that incorporates warm hues and a pattern that brings depth.

Just like its namesake in the Aegean Sea, the new Santorini tile from The Baked Tile Company offers stunning looks and timeless charm.

TRIPLE THREAT

Moss Green brings a grounding energy to three wall murals from family-run design studio By Haleys

Sage green has been one of the most popular shades of the summer, but as winter approaches is it time for its broodier brother to take the spotlight?

Moss green is a luscious, earthy shade with subtle undertones of yellow and brown, evoking a feeling of warmth and a connection to nature.

And when paired with panoramic wall murals from family-run design house By Haleys, it brings sophistication and calm to interior schemes.

Richard Haley, Creative Director of By Haleys, said: “Renowned for its soothing and tranquil qualities, Moss Green is a versatile shade that is set to shine in coming months.

“There is a real richness to the hue, which is why we wanted to incorporate it into three of our nature-inspired designs to really ramp up the biophilic impact.”

Arbour is a dramatic design of towering tree trunks and rich vegetation. Available in the colourway Moss, it is brimming with vibrancy and luxury, bringing a real richness into the home.

Richard said: “Arbour showcases the opulence and majesty of nature in a very theatrical way, but the prolific use of moss green throughout gives it a very grounded quality.”

Dynamic and free-flowing, Eden in Verde offers a very abstract take on the natural world. It is captivating and energetic and utilises moss green to bring depth and earthy appeal.

Richard said: “Eden with its rich depth, truly encapsulates the hand-painted nature of our designs. Each brushstroke and mark is deliberately unpredictable, contributing to a composition that feels alive and ever-changing.”

Rounding off the trio is By Haleys’ newest wall mural, a tribute to their hometown of Toothill in Yorkshire. Available in the colourway Peardrop, moss green weaves throughout to showcase the striking beauty of the rolling hills of Yorkshire.

Richard added: “Moss green in its rich, luscious glory is playing a starring role in three of our most popular designs, and I don’t think it will be long before we start to see the shade everywhere.” byhaleys.com

With every element of their luxury dog bed and blanket range fiendishly obsessed over to perfection, Charley Chau’s dog bedding offers practical performance and timeless style to withstand the worst of the weather (and mucky dogs), without compromising on canine comfort or aesthetics in the home.

ACCESSORIES FOR COSY FEELS

Just as humans may reach for a sweater or throw on a chilly, make a dog’s bed winter-ready with a cosy blanket to snuggle against or under. In Charley Chau’s world, a dog blanket is designed intelligently and to the highest quality. Not just any old fleece, Charley Chau’s Double Fleece Dog Blankets are an everyday winter staple, made with two layers of high-performance anti-pil fleece, designed to be super soft, super cosy and to wash beautifully over time. They are also moisture-wicking and fast-drying, making them an excellent barrier between a damp dog and their bed.

time. In addition to being machine-washable, all Charley Chau fabrics are upholstery quality, with a Martindale Rub Test Score of a minimum of 50,000 to cope with daily dog use. Particularly useful in winter, Charley Chau’s Weave II and Faroe have a FibreGuard Stain-guarding washed into its fibres, meaning they are easy to spot cleaning in between washes when muddy paws strike. Made with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification, this highly beneficial treatment is free from harmful substances, for a dog lover’s peace of mind.

Smart Protection. Long-Term Comfort

Often more prevalent in winter, a dog bed is a haven for dust mites, bacteria and other nasties. This is why Charley Chau offers hi-tech Antimicrobial Waterproof Liners to act as a physical barrier to dust, dirt and animal dander, as well as preventing the growth of fungi, mould, bacteria, and other micro-organisms. Helping keep a dog’s bed hygienically clean over time from the inside, it’s considered details like these that make Charley Chau a long-term investment in a dog’s wellbeing, and a home’s harmony.

Trusted by customers in over 60 countries worldwide, Charley Chau’s philosophy is simple: buy once, buy well. Charley Chau beds and blankets are not just supremely comfortable – keeping dogs cosy, calm and content through their lifetime – they’re also designed to stand up to the practicalities of everyday life, season after season.

CEILING STYLE

Homeowners are embracing the ‘fifth wall’ as interest in ceiling décor surges

Homeowners across Great Britain and Ireland are raising the DIY stakes, quite literally, as interest in ceiling décor surges, according to new research from family-run wall mural specialists By Haleys.

Using data from Pinterest, they found searches for the term ‘ceiling wallpaper’ have increased 50% over the last year; while searches ‘ceiling décor’ and ‘wallpapered ceiling’ are also on the rise.

Richard Haley, Creative Director of By Haleys, said: “A coat of white paint is so often the goto for ceilings but now we are starting to see homeowners embrace every inch of surface to express the character of the home.

“The ceiling is fast becoming referred to as the fifth wall and homeowners are starting to treat it in the same way as any other wallspace and making it a key part of their décor.”

A made-to-measure mural is a great option for

adding visual impact and dimension to the ceiling. By Haleys panoramic designs are incredibly bold and have been created so consumers feel the story behind the design. The Yorkshire-based studio also offers customers the flexibility to choose the exact portion of the mural they desire, ensuring a perfect fit for any ceiling space.

Richard added: “For murals to have a true impact on the ceiling, it’s really important designs are not squashed to fit. Our clients can tell us the dimensions of their ceiling and we will create a mural that perfectly covers the space without being compressed.”

By Haleys’ panoramic murals have been designed to transform interior schemes with their breathtaking artistry. Each is inspired by the serene landscapes of West Yorkshire, where the studio is based, and been designed to bring nature into the home.

OHRA DESIGN: A New Era of Creative Expansion

Ohra Studio steps confidently into a new chapter, marked by growth, innovation, and a strengthened leadership team. With Zlata Rybchenko taking on the role of Creative Director and Keira Townsend joining as Project Director, the award-winning London-based studio reaffirms its commitment to designing spaces that embody individuality, craftsmanship, and emotional depth. Together, Rybchenko and Townsend bring over three decades of international design experience, combining artistry and precision to lead Ohra Studio into a new era of creative expression and global presence.

A Vision Rooted in Individuality

From its very beginning, Ohra Studio has stood for more than aesthetics—it has been about creating meaningful, timeless environments that reflect the soul of those who inhabit them. Now, under Zlata’s expanded creative direction, the studio is taking this philosophy even further, moving beyond interior design into furniture and product creation.

“This transition feels natural,” says Rybchenko. “We’re entering a phase where exclusivity and individuality are not just aspirations but essential values. People want pieces that carry a sense of soul and craftsmanship, not fleeting trends.”

Keira Townsend Joins as Project Director

The arrival of Keira Townsend marks an important milestone in Ohra Studio’s evolution. Known for her meticulous approach and background in large-scale residential and commercial projects, Keira brings a refined sense of structure and execution to the studio’s artistic foundation.

“Joining Ohra Studio felt like a natural evolution,” Townsend explains. “Zlata’s approach to harmony, emotion, and precision resonates deeply with my own values. Together, we’re shaping a studio that’s both visionary and exacting—a place where creativity meets strategy.”

As Project Director, Townsend’s focus will be on transforming the studio’s creative concepts into impeccably executed realities, while supporting its growth into new markets. The partnership

between Zlata and Keira creates a complementary dynamic—intuition and artistry meeting structure and precision.

Looking Ahead: The 2026 Vision

The coming year brings several exciting developments for Ohra Studio. At the heart of this new chapter is the launch of the studio’s own furniture collection, a long-held dream that unites the team’s 30 years of experience in design, architecture, and craftsmanship.

Each piece will embody the Ohra philosophy— sculptural, functional, and timeless—crafted in Europe using natural materials and produced in limited editions.

Alongside this, the studio is expanding internationally, with upcoming hospitality and residential projects across Europe and the Middle East, reflecting its signature balance between local heritage and modern sophistication.

Designing with Purpose

For Rybchenko and Townsend, the future of luxury design lies in authenticity and emotional connection. Their approach embraces craftsmanship, sustainability, and individuality— creating spaces that are deeply personal and built to last.

“True luxury today is individuality,” says Zlata. “Clients don’t want what others have—they want something that feels entirely their own.”

“Our clients seek stories, not styles,” adds Keira. “We design environments that reflect who they are, blending beauty with meaning and purpose.”

“We challenge each other to think beyond the ordinary”

Intelligent Luxury: The Ohra Philosophy

In an era of conscious living, Ohra Studio champions what it calls “intelligent luxury”— design that combines emotional resonance with environmental responsibility. The studio’s work prioritizes sustainable materials, local artisanship, and longevity, offering clients beauty that endures and evolves.

“The future is about intelligent design,” says Rybchenko. “Spaces should evoke emotion, use resources wisely, and make people feel grounded.”

The Power of Collaboration

The partnership between Zlata and Keira signals a defining moment for Ohra Studio. Their collaboration is built on trust, shared vision, and mutual respect, setting the tone for the studio’s next decade.

“We challenge each other to think beyond the ordinary,” Keira reflects.

“Together, we’re building not just a studio, but a philosophy,” adds Zlata.

With a clear direction, an expanded team, and a global outlook, Ohra Studio continues to embody its ethos - Timeless. Tailored. Thoughtful. ohrastudio.com

ART DECO REFINED: A FAMILY KITCHEN WITH A STORY BY EXTREME DESIGN

Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside is The Lake House, a refurbished home where style is grounded in story.

The double award-winning kitchen by Extreme Design features a classic, contemporary style with subtle Art Deco influences, complementing the interior scheme by Alexander James Interiors.

The kitchen design centres around geometry, symmetry and refined restraint, drawing inspiration from the Art Deco glamour of the Churchill Bar at the Hyatt Regency. Stepped door details, sunburst motifs etched into glazing, and brass accents all nod to the era without veering into pastiche.

At the centre of the kitchen, a sweeping, upholstered oval banquette carves elegantly into the island. Handmade and sculptural in form, it references the curves and layering of Art Deco design while bringing a sense of intimacy to the space. This dining island creates a place for family and friends to come together for breakfast, conversation, or a quiet moment with a coffee –beautifully uniting function and elegance.

Behind the island, the Sub-Zero fridge, freezer

and wine cabinet stand proudly as a statement feature. Framed in natural marble and bronze, and crowned with a furniture-style cornice, the appliances sit behind custom mirrored doors etched with a refined sunburst motif. More akin to crafted furniture than conventional kitchen cabinetry, this bespoke feature creates a moment of drama in a way that feels entirely individual. This kitchen doesn’t simply live within the house; it is an extension of the interior and architecture. It’s a timeless space where the legacy of style meets the needs of modern family living.

The Lake House embodies Extreme Design’s philosophy: that kitchen design should go beyond function and aesthetics to reflect a personal story—shaping a space that is enduring, expressive and entirely your own.
