Duo of brands to join Bluewater’s lineup this June

Bluewater has announced that two new brands are joining its retail lineup this June. Wellness clinic Dripology has now opened next to New Look, while Taiwanese bubble tea brand T4 is set to open its doors next to Hotel Chocolat on 19th June.

Dripology is a CQC registered wellness centre designed to support guests looking to improve their health and vitality. The clinic offers a personalised, testdriven approach to wellness, providing fast health tests, vitamin solutions, IV drips, intramuscular injections, and supplements, with services available for both walk-ins and pre-booked appointments.

Joining Bluewater later in the month is authentic Taiwanese bubble tea specialist T4. Built on a foundation of innovation and traditional craftsmanship, T4 works closely with farmers to source quality ingredients, including its unique Perilla Plum green tea. Millfield Theatre has officially reopened following a major refurbishment, marking the beginning of a bold new era under the leadership of Platinum Performing Arts, who stepped in to invest in and secure the future of the theatre at a time when venues across the country were facing closure.

The reopening celebrates the completion of Phase One of the theatre’s transformation, alongside 20 years of Platinum’s work in the community and the launch of Power 2 Make A Change: Next Generation honouring the past, celebrating the present, and investing in the future.

The evening was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Broadway and West End star Marisha Wallace, officially welcoming audiences back to the “Home of Entertainment in North London.” The event brought together community leaders, industry professionals, and artists whose journeys reflect both the theatre’s legacy and its renewed ambition. Guests arrived along the signature teal carpet, setting the tone for a night of celebration.

Audiences were treated to a powerful live performance by Platinum Performing Arts, Power 2 Make A Change, showcasing the exceptional talent nurtured through Platinum’s school, college,

and grassroots community programmes, and reinforcing the theatre’s commitment to cultural enrichment and youth voice.

Phase One improvements include reupholstered auditorium seating, new carpets, refreshed backstage areas, upgraded front of house spaces and upgraded lighting all delivered through an ambitious four-week makeover. A newly introduced Wall of Fame honours the many stars who have graced Millfield’s stage over the decades, alongside West End performers and industry professionals who began their journeys through Platinum.

Looking ahead, Millfield Theatre, under Platinum’s leadership, will present an exciting programme of professional productions, welcoming high quality theatre, live music, dance, and touring shows back to the stage. Alongside community and youth led work, the theatre will host spectacular professional performances, inviting audiences to support their local theatre and enjoy inspiring, affordable cultural experiences in the heart of North London.

ART, MUSIC AND CULTURE

The opening of V&A East Museum in April 2026 marked a major cultural milestone for East Bank and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Created with young people and rooted in east London’s heritage, the museum explores what is shaping our world through the voices leading contemporary culture today. Entry to the museum is free, making it open and accessible for all visitors.

Open daily from 10:00–18:00, and until 22:00 on Thursdays and Saturdays, the museum also offers ticketed exhibitions including The Music is Black: A British Story, celebrating Black British music and cultural influence. Inside the museum, visitors can also experience Café Jikoni, a kitchen without borders inspired by immigrant food traditions and flavours from South Asia, the Far East, the Middle East, East Africa and Britain.

East Bank continues to bring together culture and education with a year-round programme of events led by partners including

V&A East, BBC Music Studios, UAL’s London College of Fashion, Sadler’s Wells East and UCL. A key highlight is The Music is Black Festival from East Bank, an eight-month celebration of sound, culture and community, featuring four summer weekends of live music and performance across the Park: 13–14 June; 11–12 July; 22–23 August; 12–13 September.

Inspired by the opening exhibition at V&A East Museum, the festival includes music, exhibitions, talks, screenings, dance and digital content, showcasing the richness of Black British creativity and culture.

For those looking to get creative, rooftop abstract painting workshops return at Barge East. Led by artist Dan Whiteson, these monthly sessions run throughout the summer from 19 May to 8 August and are open to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced creatives.

FOOD

Wing Fest returns to London Stadium from 25–27 July, bringing the world’s largest chicken wing festival to Stratford with over 45 street food traders and restaurants competing for the UK’s best wings.

Black Eats Festival also returns across multiple weekends, celebrating Black food culture, entrepreneurship and creativity with street food traders, independent chefs and community businesses showcasing global flavours on the following weekends: 29 - 31 May; 7 - 9 August and 3 - 4 October

SPORTS

Bola Beach Tennis returns for the summer. Running for seven weeks, it brings together a mix of tennis, badminton, padel and volleyball played on sand courts. Sessions run Thursday to Sunday from 10:00–20:00, offering an energetic and social way to enjoy sport in the sun.

Major sporting moments also return to London Stadium, including Soccer Aid 2026, bringing celebrities and sporting stars together for a charity match in support of UNICEF.

EAT & DRINK

The Park continues to offer a wide range of food and drink destinations.

ordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar has officially opened at 22 Bishopsgate, London EC2, marking a significant new chapter for the global restaurant group and a landmark milestone as it becomes his 100th restaurant worldwide.

Bread Street Kitchen and Bar occupies the 59th floor of one of London’s tallest buildings, offering a unique dining destination high above the City skyline.

The opening builds on the success of Lucky Cat, which debuted in early 2025, cementing the group’s influence at the top end of London’s

competitive dining scene.

The all-day dining experience is led by Executive Head Chef Kamarl Rees John, and is designed to match the fast-paced rhythm of the City.

Breakfast begins at 6:30am on weekdays, followed by lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service. From Thursday to Saturday, the restaurant remains open until 3am, transitioning into a late-night destination.

The menu features more than 35 dishes, ranging from Lobster Benedict and hot cakes in the morning, to Galician T-bone steak and Meyer lemon cheesecake later in the day. For the first time, the restaurant will also introduce a tasting

menu, offering a multi-course experience alongside its à la carte options.

In addition, the venue includes a dedicated sports bar with a 24hour licence, screening live global sporting events, DJ sets and live music.

‘Located in North Norfolk, Cley Windmill was built in the early 19th century and has since been converted into a beautiful place to stay. ChengTong X. from Eaton House The Manor Boys’ School was delighted and surprised to hear that he had won both the coveted King’s Scholarship to Eton and, separately, the Eton Music Scholarship. The former is one of the most hotly contested senior scholarships in the UK, and the latter has reputedly attracted over 60 gifted musicians from Prep schools all over the country vying for the honour. He is one of many boys who won top scholarships. Academically, his performance was also excellent. ChengTong’s letter from Eton commented that he had ‘performed exceptionally well in the King’s Scholarship examination’ and that, as a result, his name would appear on the roll. They added that ‘The level of competition has been very high this year, so ChengTong should be very proud of his achievement.’

‘The interview was about musical theory, my musical instruments and the things that have inspired me,’ he says. ‘And yes, I do listen to 21st century music, not just classical!’ he laughs. He is grateful to the Eaton House The Manor Director of Music, Mr Lukas Kargl, whose specialist knowledge and dedication helped him to achieve his full potential. ‘Mr Karg is an inspiring teacher,’ he said. ‘He helped me to prepare and he also wrote me a very nice reference.’

ChengTong loves the fact that there is so much musical opportunity at Eaton House – and he sings in the Senior Choir and plays in the Orchestra. ‘Overall, it has been really enjoyable at Eaton House The Manor,’ he says. I’ve been here since Reception and there have been so many funny moments.’

A LINE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

For some families, starting IVF means carrying an additional weight: the knowledge that a hereditary condition could be passed on. London Women’s Clinic explains how genetic testing can help patients build their families with greater certainty.

Beth and Brad came to London Women’s Clinic Brentwood knowing that IVF alone would not be enough. They needed to ensure that any embryo transferred was free from a specific inherited condition – and that meant Pre-implantation Genetic Testing for Monogenic disorders, known as PGT-M.

Unlike PGT-A, which screens embryos for chromosomal abnormalities, PGT-M is a tool used for families at risk of passing on a known single-gene condition. Each embryo is biopsied at the blastocyst stage and tested against the specific genetic variant identified in that family. Only embryos confirmed to be unaffected are considered for transfer when the inherited condition is autosomal dominant, meaning only one copy of the gene needs to be inherited to be affected with the condition. For Beth and Brad, the process was not straightforward – there were many tests, a great deal of waiting, and the particular anxiety of not wanting to hope too much, too soon.

Beth remembers the morning she took a pregnancy test vividly. A faint shadow. Then a line. She called Brad’s name – “Brad, Brad, Brad, Brad, is this a thing? Is this a genuine thing?” – holding the

test up, voice rising with the tentative joy of someone who had learned not to celebrate too early. Brad, who had been protecting himself from disappointment, barely dared to look.

The transfer had worked. Their son, Rupert, was born healthy. Now, they sometimes pass members of the clinic team in the street – people who remember them, who ask after him, who were “genuinely thrilled” when the news came through. Beth and Brad brought Rupert in to visit soon after he was born.

A HOUSE RENEWED

London architecture studio Manea Kella has breathed new life into a neglected Edwardian terrace near Hampstead Heath honouring its history while reimagining it entirely for the present.

There is a particular kind of London house, one that has accumulated decades of patchwork alterations, its original intentions obscured by expediency. Heathside House, an Edwardian terrace in the Dartmouth Park Conservation Area, was just such a building. Subdivided into two apartments during the 1970s and left largely untouched for the decades that followed.

The commission given to Manea Kella was, on the surface, straightforward: return the building to a single-family home and open it up to light and contemporary living. But the studio’s ambitions ran considerably deeper. Rather than treating the structure as a static relic to be dusted off, they saw it as it had always been - an adaptable, evolving piece of the city, capable of revealing its own history through careful attention and well-judged intervention.

The result, which the studio calls a project defined by “dualistic character,” is one of the more satisfying domestic renovations to emerge from London in recent years: a home in which past and present exist in confident,

companionable dialogue rather than awkward cohabitation.

The design is underpinned by a restorative approach, repairing and reusing as much of the existing fabric as possible. Original fireplaces, leaded glass, and picture rails have been preserved and celebrated, while the building envelope has been upgraded to improve thermal performance.

The property has been reimagined through a process of careful restoration and thoughtful intervention. At its heart lies a balance between preservation and reinvention: the renewal of historic

character alongside bold new gestures that create clarity, openness, and comfort for modern life.

The building presents two very different faces to the world. To the street, changes are deliberately restrained ensuring a sensitive dialogue with the neighbouring terraces. At the rear, however, the architects permit themselves considerably more latitude. Here a failing extension has been replaced by a new glazed volume that radically transforms the experience of the space, bringing together kitchen, dining, and living in a generous open-plan arrangement wrapped around a courtyard garden. The contrast is not a contradiction, it is entirely the point.

For Elena Kella, co-founder of the studio, the ambition was clear from the outset: “Our ambition was to create a home that feels both familiar and renewed. By carefully restoring the historic details and combining them with a contemporary extension, we wanted to respect the character of the terrace while introducing new spaces that are open, light-filled, and adaptable for modern living.”

The true achievement of the rear extension lies in how it reorganises the spatial experience of the entire house. By wrapping the living spaces around the courtyard and laying a continuous limestone floor that flows unbroken from interior to exterior, the architects dissolve the threshold between inside and out. A modest footprint begins to feel far more generous than its dimensions would suggest. Daylight is drawn deep into the plan. The courtyard becomes less a garden to be looked at and more a room to be inhabited: framed, ever-present, integrated into the rhythm of daily life in a way that transforms the atmospheric quality of the home throughout the day and across seasons.

If the plan is the diagram of the house’s ambition, the materials are its emotional register. Manea Kella has assembled a palette of deliberate

restraint: glazed green tiles, lime render, and handcrafted stained oak cabinetry reference a local vernacular without lapsing into pastiche. Each material has been selected for sensory appeal and longevity in equal measure.

London’s stock of Edwardian and Victorian terraces represents an irreplaceable resource - culturally, architecturally, and materially. Heathside House makes the case for something that the architecture profession has been arguing for some time now, and that the housing industry has been slower to embrace: that true sustainability lies not in demolition and replacement but in the intelligent repair and retention of what already exists. A fabric-first retrofit (internal insulation, double glazing, the careful upgrading of the building envelope) brings this heritage asset to modern thermal standards without sacrificing the character that makes it worth inhabiting in the first place.

This is a home that will age well, in every sense. The natural materials will deepen and weather with use; the spatial generosity will accommodate changing lives; the historic details will continue to accrue meaning. Luxury British lampshade brand Tinker & Tallulah has unveiled The Jewel Collection: a new limited-edition range created in collaboration with interior designer Nina Watson (aka @ArtDecoJewel).

Designed to address a gap often overlooked in the market, the collection brings together heritage-inspired pattern, distinctive silhouettes and rich, expressive colour.

The collaboration began with a clear vision. When approached by Tinker & Tallulah, Nina knew immediately that she wanted to create the lampshades she could never quite find – timeless pieces designed to complement layered interiors rather than overpower them.

Drawing on heritage damask patterns, the collection introduces a more contemporary palette of colours that are rarely seen in traditional lampshade design, including deep reds, teals, pinks and golden yellows.

The name of the collection emerged organically during the design process. Seeing the finished designs together for the first time, Nina noted their jewel-like quality, leading to the individual shades being named Ruby, Emerald, Topaz, Citrine and Rose Quartz.

Each lampshade is handmade to order in Tinker & Tallulah’s Nottinghamshire studio with a focus on precision, finish and attention to detail, from pattern placement across seams to the brand’s signature swishy tassels.

The garden is an important part of the any home fortunate enough to have one. Traditionally the transition between the inside and rear garden was marked by utilitarian structures like outdoor toilets or garden sheds. However, most modern homeowners are keen to improve this relationship and blur the threshold between the house and garden.

Research has shown that spending time in green space or bringing plants and greenery into your everyday life can benefit both your mental health and physical wellbeing.

We approach our design work holistically and consider both the garden and house from the beginning of our process. We often consider the outdoor space to be an additional room to the house that has the potential to be better inhabited.

At our Walled Garden project (pictured above left and right) we designed, we designed a garden that would be beautiful to look at but would also define ‘moments’ within it. We proposed lush foliage,

ornamental grasses and ferns that could withstand the South facing aspect and equally thrive in the dappled light beneath the canopies of established trees beyond the property. Within this garden space, two different seating areas are defined; one level with the internal living room and can be used as a public space for entertaining and another further back, more private. These are separated by a wildlife pond and path interwoven within the planting, creating moments for pause and contemplation.

We proposed a new dining space at our Supper Time project (pictured left), which was conceived as a ‘thread’ connecting the various spaces through which it passes. The concept echoes a ‘street party’ style of dining, where the table shifts and extends when needed, rather than being defined by a dedicated dining ‘room’. This hard-working new addition allows the family to be flexible with supper clubs spilling into the kitchen and the garden when extra space is needed.

At our studio we are in the unique position to offer both architectural services and garden design. We work together with our clients to provide planting lists that include year-round interest and develop maintenance plans. We revisit to help with the first season of maintenance in order to establish the garden and give it the best conditions in which to thrive.

What once started as a single project has now become a full time activity with customers all over the world. Years of experience are the foundation of their quality and permanent innovation. A GRAVEL SURFACE FIT FOR A KING:

Designing Stability at the Royal Windsor Flower Show

“We need your Gravelrings as his Highness is coming, and the garden will see all kinds of traffic. It has to stay firm and still look beautiful,”

Ahead of the Royal Windsor Flower Show, the lead Garden Designer for the project at Landform contacted Beauxfort with a clear brief: create a flawless, stable gravel surface worthy of royal approval.

With His Majesty in attendance and the garden’s reputation on the line, the installation had to be both strong and stunning. The designer envisioned a natural, self-binding gravel surface that looked seamless while standing up to the demands of the event.

The solution? Gravelrings, a high-performance gravel stabilisation system that effortlessly delivered elegance and durability across the 110sqm garden pathway.

When designing a garden for a royal audience, every element had to look and perform flawlessly, including the surface underfoot. The gravel surface needed to complement the garden’s ‘Patterns in Nature’ theme, balancing natural beauty with lasting strength.

The Gravelrings’ mesh-base design made that possible, keeping the gravel perfectly in place even under continuous foot traffic. Once filled, the grid vanished completely, allowing Allgreen’s Harleyford Blend to take centre stage; a light, natural-looking finish that blended seamlessly with the surrounding planting. The result was a self-binding gravel surface that looked beautiful, stayed firm, and enhanced the elegance of the entire garden.

The garden not only had to look perfect, but it also had to perform. The pathways would face continuous foot traffic, wheelchairs, pushchairs, trolleys and more, all while contending with the

unpredictability of British weather.

Gravelrings’ low-profile design provided the strength needed beneath the surface while remaining completely invisible, preserving the garden’s natural aesthetic and the intricate Fibonacci-inspired layout. Beyond its appearance, the system gave the Landform team complete confidence that the pathways would stay stable, smooth, and flawless from start to finish.’

Described by the installation team as ‘easy to work with,’ Gravelrings helped them create a surface that looked immaculate and felt completely stable underfoot. Designer Alan Williams shared that he was ‘very happy with the garden,’ and Landform later requested to use the same system at their Glasshouse Collective show space, a testament to its performance and lasting value.

This project perfectly demonstrates what Gravelrings was designed for: a stable, sustainable, and stylish gravel surface that performs as beautifully as it looks.
