This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” ~ Ephesians 4:11-13 (NLT) ~ I am so glad that Jesus continues to give gifts to His Bride — the Church — which by the way — is us! It is my pleasure to announce to you by way of introduction, the man both I and our our Personnel Committee believe is the pastor Jesus is sending us to fill a great need. We believe that Rev. Ken Kopal is the person He is sending to fill the new position of Associate Pastor of Family Life Ministries here at First Southern. We have searched long and far for the right person, even hearing from people interested in the position from as far away as the country of India. Ken doesn’t come from quite so far away — he and his wife Anna live just over in Skull Valley. In fact, Ken and Anna came to First Southern before knowing anything about our search. Pastor Ken, as you will read, is eminently qualified to step into this roll of overseeing all of our work with kids birth through High School and their parents. He will not do all of the work — nor will he reach all of the kids and families. What he will do is equip, train and motivate all of us to do our part in those tasks. That’s why Jesus gives pastors to the church. I encourage you to pray with us, be here Sunday morning to worship with us and hear from Pastor Ken yourself, and then come back Sunday evening at 6:00 pm to vote in our Special Called Business Meeting for the purpose of calling Ken Kopal to this position.
