In 2025, The Stewpot celebrated a milestone: half a century of loving our neighbors in Dallas. We marked it with joy: an anniversary gathering with city leaders, Stewpot founders, and the neighbors at the heart of our mission; a birthday picnic with staff, families, and longtime supporters; and our first-ever Love Your Neighbor Week, when volunteers from across Dallas came together to beautify our campus, staff Streetside Showers, serve meals, and show up in every way imaginable. Our first All Ages Volunteer Event welcomed families and children as young as four years old, a reminder that compassion has no minimum age.

But while we celebrated, the work continued. Because it always does.

In 2025, 308,000 meals were served. More than 1.16 million pounds of food were recovered and redirected to neighbors in need. Since the launch of our housing initiatives, 385 neighbors have moved into stable homes. Our Children, Youth + Family Program relocated to a new Bruton Road campus in Pleasant Grove closer to the families we serve thanks to the generosity of Crystal Charity Ball who graciously pledged $1 million over the next 3 years to help expand this programming. And this year alone, an extraordinary community of volunteers gave 59,525 hours of their time. These countless hours changed lives, as you’ll see throughout this report.

Whether you’ve been walking alongside us for decades or you’re just discovering The Stewpot for the first time—whether you give your time, your resources, or simply your belief that every neighbor deserves dignity—you are part of this story. You always have been.

Mr. Rogers once posed a simple and profound question to a generation: “Won’t you be my neighbor?” And for 50 years, Dallas has been saying yes and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Helping Neighbors Move from Crisis to Stability

Housing provides the foundation for stability. Through outreach, case management, and identification recovery, The Stewpot helps neighbors take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives.

State IDs and birth certificates, allow neighbors to secure jobs, housing, Social Security and veterans’ benefits; access medical care; or enroll in school.

The Stewpot answers thousands of calls each year, helping neighbors navigate community resources and access critical services across Dallas.

The Stewpot Mail Room provides neighbors experiencing homelessness with a secure mailing address so they can receive essential documents related to housing, employment, healthcare, and benefits.

FOOD PANTRY

Food insecurity continues to rise across Texas including Dallas. Through The Stewpot Food Pantry, neighbors experiencing poverty can access groceries that help families remain stable during difficult times. More than 300 neighbors visit the Food Pantry each day

Helping fight hunger while reducing food waste across Dallas. Recovered food supports both meals served at The Stewpot’s Second Chance Cafe and groceries distributed through the Food Pantry.

At The Stewpot’s NEW Bruton Road Campus, children and youth (1st–12th grade) living in poverty receive academic support, enrichment opportunities, and mentorship in a safe and encouraging environment. Programs help students strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and explore opportunities that help them thrive in school and beyond. Over the next 3 years, The Crystal Charity Ball has pledged $1 million for the expansion of the program

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

The Stewpot’s Enrichment Programs create space for neighbors to share their stories, develop their creative talents, and build confidence. Through the Art Program and Writers Workshop, artists and writers exhibit their work through art galleries or publishing in STREETZine (thestewpot. org/streetzine), the Streetlevel blog (thestewpot.org/street-level), or even the Dallas Morning News. Artists and writers earn income through work

In 2025, Thy Neighbor was published to celebrate The Stewpot’s 50th anniversary, featuring artwork and stories created by neighbors who once experienced homelessness. We brought in over $8,600 last year in book sales. In June of 2026 the art studio and gallery spaces will be renovated and ready for visitors. Keep a look out for cards, keychains and other products.

Volunteers are vital to the work of The Stewpot. The Food Pantry now operates 5 days a week and we continue to find ways to meet the needs of our neighbors. Opportunities range from:

• Crafting hygiene kits

• Making snack bags

• Assembling welcome home baskets

Partnerships are essential to the mission of The Stewpot. Today, more than 80 active partners work alongside our team to help neighbors access the services they need to move toward stability.

Throughout its history, The Stewpot has also helped launch several organizations that continue to serve Dallas, including Austin Street Center, Genesis Women’s Shelter, and Interfaith Housing Coalition.

The Stewpot remains a central hub for services and collaboration. We provide all meal services for The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center and host onsite offices for Parkland Health’s medical and dental clinics, Parkland Counseling, and Metrocare’s psychiatric and medication management services.

The Stewpot is also an active member of the All Neighbors Coalition, a collaboration of more than 150 organizations working to end homelessness in Dallas, led by Housing Forward. Since 2023, our Executive Director Brenda Snitzer has served as Chair of the coalition.

Additional partnerships continue to expand opportunities for our neighbors. Dallas Innovation Alliance (DIA) is a nonprofit partner that provides computer training within AT&T Connected Learning Center, while Workforce Solutions connects neighbors with employment services and career pathways.

Together, these partnerships help create a stronger network of support for our neighbors and our city.

Financial Snapshot 2025

This was the first full year with two new campuses. Thank you to everyone who generously supported the neighbors served by The Stewpot. Our total operating revenue in 2025: $8,649,755.
