Letter from Co-Chair Annual Stewardship Campaign

Page 1

Dear Friends,

Welcome to FPC Dallas’ 2023 Stewardship campaign. Taking Amos’ Five Words for Church as its inspiration, the booklet below offers a glimpse into the past year in the life of our church. We’ve been able to be together, and we’ve accomplished a lot. Think for a minute how far we have come. Think of all the ways we have shown up for each other, all the ways we have grown over the past year. Think about how easy it could have been to just hold fast and ride out the pandemic, and not ask ourselves how we could be and do better in our world. Worship attendance is at a 10-year high. The Stewpot is helping people who are unhoused become and stay housed. The renovation of 508 Park Avenue is happening. The Day School is growing. Soon we’ll be calling a new Associate Pastor for Practice and Formation. We’re welcoming more and more young families to our services – families that are getting in the car and coming downtown to join us in song and prayer. FPC Dallas is our second home, our family of choice. Many of us have grown up here. Some of us have married here, and some have had our children baptized here. Among us are more recent additions who recognized something special in this community. Feeling welcome, cared for, and loved are key reasons why all of us call this church “home.” Think for a minute how far we will go. We are focused. We are ambitious. We are unfinished. We are generous. We are playful. In how many new and different ways can we embody these attributes as we move forward? How many more people can we inspire to grow their spiritual lives alongside us, to also call FPC Dallas “home?” We are energized and committed. Today we are asking you to join us – to give “with glad and generous hearts”– so that the work of God through this church can expand both deep and wide. For our part, we are increasing our pledge this year by 25% to help launch FPC Dallas, its missions, and our second family into a new year of promise and possibilities. You can make your pledge now by completing the online commitment form at fpcdallas.org/2023. If you prefer not to pledge, we encourage you to sign up for regular giving. It’s easy—just visit fpcdallas.org/givenow and choose to make a recurring gift. Should you have any questions, please reach out to either of us or to Rebecca Eldredge at 214-382-5920 or rebeccae@fpcdallas.org. In gratitude,
