57th National RSL Lawn Bowls CarnivaL 29 April - 6 May 2026
The 57th National RSL Lawn Bowls Carnival wrapped up a highly successful showcase of veteran’s sport in Melbourne. Hosted by the Deer Park Club and additional greens provided by Keilor Bowls Club, the tournament provided Australia’s military veterans with beautifully prepared greens and a fantastic atmosphere for spirited competition. RSL service members were selected from a series of trials, across Australia, to represent their respective states RSL. 27 service members were selected to represent the Victorian RSL. This year's event carried special significance, opening with a remembrance ceremony to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan. The annual carnival brings together financial RSL Service Members representing Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, and New South Wales.The Carnival consists of three separate tournaments with strict eligibility requirements; Financial RSL Service Member and affiliated with their states governing RSL bowls body (primary club).

71st Duke of Edinburgh Shield The 2026 Duke of Edinburgh Shield tournament was held 11-12 April 2026. The tournament comprised of 91 teams from 68 RSL Sub-Branches who played across 16 sections/venues. This year saw over 1500 bowlers compete across the weekend
This year’s winner is Bairnsdale RSL.

The 58th National RSL Lawn Bowls Carnival will be held at Yamba Bowls Club 28 April to 5 May 2027.

PLAYER CAP NUMBERS 2026 sees the inception of individual player numbers in recognition of players representing the Victorian RSL. 20 years of player data was provided by Life Member Peter Lee, to identify the first-year bowlers represented Victoria RSL. The first 100 numbers were reserved in recognition of bowlers that represented Victorian RSL prior to records commencing. A presentation was held at the 2026 National RSL Lawn Bowls Carnival, each player who has playing in the Jack Hamilton VC or Dr Sydney Krantz tournaments were presented a cap with their individual number. Life members received gold numbering.
