A Dawn of Remembrance: Why Anzac Day 2026 Still Matters in Geelong On the morning of Anzac Day, the streets of Geelong will stir before sunrise as a steady stream of locals gathers along the waterfront and at war memorials for the annual commemorations - once again anchored by tradition, respect, and community participation. Among them will be the descendants of veterans, standing in quiet reflection as the bugle sounds “The Last Post,” united in remembrance and gratitude.
